A heartily chuckle of his own accompanied the comical touch which arose between the woman’s lips, lasting only for a couple of short seconds, and right after it ceased a few words were erected by the raven-haired man. “I understand Lady Kameko, parents are indeed fond of us.” he added on a joyous tone before placing himself to a rest in order to allow the woman to continue on with her response. While she talked, the Uchiha would gaze at Kameko intensely with those narrowed eyes of his that were checking her for all kind of small details that will allow him to actually deduce if she was telling the truth or not; however, the tone on which she spoke did not seem to make him suspect anything wrong. Maybe she really was nothing more than innocent and pure, and that gut feeling of his which made him believe that there was something more hidden within her was probably wrong after all.

Despite her previous words, the ones which followed up about her own future seemed a bit ambiguous when they assaulted the Uchiha’s ears, as such, the young lad reached for the sake bottle before dragging it beneath his own eyes. Without further ado, Tenzō twisted the cork while pulling it against his own ribcage, letting a popping sound vibrate freely within the room before hoisting up that bottle so that he may refill his own empty cup. “To be quite honest, I have to admit that the word recently wasn’t really used properly in that context.” were the words which escaped between the man’s lips, and right after they had ended the bottle was once more sealed back, since a quick glimpse at the woman indicated that she was still far from finishing her own.

“With that being said, they had actually arrived in Konohagakure before I was born, although recently seemed appropriate if you were to think that the Uchiha massacre happened quite a while ago.” Tenzō spoke before gulping the whole glass of sake as if it was nothing more than a shot, placing it back against the table before he arose from that seated position in order to relocate himself with a pair of heavy footsteps against the window. There was little difference between that eerie and dank night and those ebony eyes which were now devouring the whole landscape that stood beneath them. It wasn’t really that hard to tell that this particular subject was quite sour for the young man, as such, he wished to avoid any kind of eye contact with Kameko. Letting his own weakness and feelings visible was something which he did not wish for, despite that she was probably capable of noticing that already.

“Please come here, Kameko...” the Uchiha said while beckoning the woman towards him. “I want you to take a look of this magnificent view and tell me what you can actually see, please do describe this image.” were the words spoken on a benevolent tone which quickly escaped from him while continuing to peer curiously out the window. If she were to accept that innocent offer, the man would actually step aside a bit towards his own right in order to leave behind some space in which she could position herself. The slumbering moon was barely visible due to the grey clouds which invaded the pitch-black sky, and there were some celestial stars that could be seen if someone where to look intensely for them. Without a doubt, the man was curious to see how she would describe the image beneath his own eyes, and hopefully with those words alone the man managed to pique her curiosity.

After the sake had been poured, it had seemed that Tenzo was becoming more comfortable around her; he had even laughed at her little jest. Similar to most people, Kameko liked to set people at ease and have enjoyable times. However, the frivolity did not last long. Her casual query brought up the dark matter which had caused his family to leave Konohagakure. The massacre had been terrible, but having grown up in Kumogakure, the long-past event had not affected her village nor anyone that she had personally met or known; had she been too trivial in her conversation-making? It certainly had not been her intent to force his thoughts to the Uchiha’s bloody past, but she had done so; consequently, the young man abruptly shut down, closing himself off again. Blue eyes watched, full of concern, as Tenzo threw back the little cup of sake as though it was a liquor meant to be shot, before getting up and stalking over to the window.

A moment of uncomfortable silence passed between them. There was little that she could say that would be adequate at this point, and she half expected him to turn on his heel and walk right out of her room. She watched his back, and was surprised when he addressed her again, beckoning for her to join him. Rising, she left the drinks on the table and joined him in the little space that he had made for her beside him. Hands rested lightly on the windowsill as she gazed out as his request. What she saw was obvious: Konoha at night. There was a way he asked it that suggested to her that that was not what he was asking. After a moment, she began, “I see the sky; the dark clouds hiding the moon and stars behind them, lit from below by Konohagakure.. The lights of the village, marking the lives of everyone here.” The landscape was so different here than up in the mountains of Kumogakure. After a moment, she commented, “Possibilities… so many different possibilities.”

As she spoke, the corners of her mouth turned up without her necessarily intending them to; just enough of a smile to where her youthful face creased with dimples. That was why she had come here. The landscape was new, and the climate was pleasantly warmer; however, those did not matter to her in the big scheme of things, for she was biased enough to think the there was no sight more beautiful than the mountains in Kaminari no Kuni. No, it had been the people here that had driven her to visit. The culture of this country was slightly different; it almost seemed that they were more cautious, more secretive by nature… though she refuted that idea the moment it crossed her mind for she certainly had not met enough people to make such an assessment. Really, it was just that they were new to her, and new things created new possibilities for growth and change. But for someone who grew up here, for whom this was all commonplace… “What do you see when you look at Konohagakure?” she asked Tenzo. The question was less of what he saw out her window but more of what he felt of the village that he served as shinobi. Did he see it as a violent place, one which had driven his people out generations ago, or was it more of his clan’s promised land, the place where he was destined to be as a bit of an ancestral home?

Without uttering a single word the Uchiha listened carefully to everything that she had to say regarding the landscape that stood beneath their own eyes; sadly, she was describing the imagery more than the actual truth which stood hidden within that misguiding image. “Possibilities... that is the correct word, Lady Kameko.” he uttered on a playful tone before shifting those eyes against her, just so that he may catch a glimpse of her youthful face and majestic smile. Apparently, the woman shared a common trait with the Uchiha, and that was curiosity; without even letting a pause between her question and his actions, the young land moved behind Kameko before pushing her gently with that army that was consisted by his own ten fingertips. They wouldn’t linger there for long, since they were used as nothing more than a playful touch to push her a bit forward as if she needed to take a better look upon the world which stood beneath her eyes.

“You words are indeed correct, Lady Kameko. Konohagakure is a beautiful landscape; however, your beauty is capable of placing even this village to shame. Your hair is darker than the night, and your eyes are much more attractive than the blue sky which bestows upon this land. If I were to succumb towards them, in other words to like you just for your own husk, you would most likely call me superficial, right?” Tenzō uttered before letting a small pause take over in case she wanted to add something towards this, or even to grant her time to dwell deeply within those words. This time those words of his were clear as daylight, the man was indeed impressed and also he was acknowledging her capabilities of seeing and understanding the playful words which escaped from him.

“Before giving a final answer to your question, I would need to say a few words about the history of this village. I’m not sure if you are aware or not, but Konohagakure was founded by the alliance of two clans, the Senju clan and the Uchiha clan. Once this village was formed, the other countries started adopting our own system in order to create their own, village.” another small pause took over while those ebony and dull eyes were darted against the slumbering moon. With that fact being stated, the Uchiha believed that it was their fault and also their responsibility to correct the world which now forced them to abide by a specific set of rules that benefited always those who detained a high status within the village. Maybe the whole system was flawed to begin with, and these villages were doing nothing more than harm when it came towards the long term.

“Thus, another question begins to reveal itself... how different are we?” the Uchiha inquired on a nonchalant tone while still looking out the window. “And my answer to your question is that this whole image which stands before us, is nothing more than a beautiful painting. They say that a painting is capable of expressing one thousand words, but in reality all of them are just lies to cover up the whole truth that stands beneath them. No matter what day it may be, there is always tension between the clans or people. I believe that the same thing can be said about your own village as well, especially if you decide to ignore the beautiful landscape that steals away your charming eyes. There is a single truth which can be revealed, and that one is hidden beneath every lie which is presented towards us. The truth can be found if you look deeper, and it says that this peace is nothing more than a lie.” were the words which came out pouring between the raven-haired man’s lips before he took a slight step backwards.

Realizing that he probably spoke too much, the Uchiha stopped from the so called nagging which was being directed against this world that was viewed as nothing less than wretched beneath those two ebony eyes. “To be honest Lady Kameko, I regret every word which I said. I am aware that my view might push your further from me, perhaps... we are destined to perdition. We care so much about those around us, and then we easily get affected by their words, eventually we end up forcing ourselves to forget about our needs. I should have paid more attention to the closer things, instead of thinking on a such large scale; however, I don’t want to keep any kind of secrets from you.” were the words which escaped between the man’s lips on a rather sour tone.

Right after those words were spoken, the Uchiha relocated himself against Kameko before locking both hands upon the windowsill, catching the woman between this own clutches whilst also forbidding her indirectly from leaving that spot. When the distance between them was almost nonexistent with only an inch or two separating their bodies from each other, Tenzō’s ebony eyes looked for her own blue and ocean-like orbs before building up a last question for her. “We’re not so different as you may believe, and we're now even sharing the same air...” the raven-haired man spoken while approaching Kameko slowly, letting his own warm breath stop against her own while doing so. “I want much more than that...  therefore, what do you say... do you wish to stand by my side?” he asked on defiant but also friendly tone.

Kameko turned her head slightly as Tenzo moved behind her, keeping him in her peripheral vision. He gently laid his hands on her shoulders and pushed lightly on them, obliging her to take a step closer to the window. She remained thus for a moment, expecting him to point something out to her in the semi-darkness that lay over a light illuminated Konohagakure. Soon, he moved from speaking about the view to speaking about her own appearance. The young woman turned to face him as he spoke poetically, lavishing her with ever greater compliments, as smooth as any courtier; though he professed to have grown up from humble origins, he had picked up on a manner of speech with fit his clan’s noble reputation, even if it was a bit over-the-top. She offered a smile in response to the flattery; it did not send her heart aflutter, but it certainly catered to her vanity. “Most likely,” she confirmed in response to his question, with a light-hearted, teasing tone. The sudden eloquence led her to believe that he offered the praise in such a flowery way for dramatic effect, not out of strong feelings of genuine adoration.

As he changed the topic to answer her query and briefly summarized the history of the hidden village’s origins, the topic was a familiar one; it was something that she had been taught as a child in school. His words soon moved to more current events, and they portrayed his view as being a rather dark one. Tenzo seemed to be jumping from mood to mood, idea to idea. In one breath, he was playfully calling her beautiful beyond compare, and in the next, he was cynically claiming that all beautiful things existed to deceive, to hide ugliness underneath. It was true that she certainly wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies; she recognized that she fell prey to more than one of the seven deadly sins at different times, in varying degress. But, no… He wasn’t referring to her, but to the village where she hailed from, Kumogakure. “…this peace is nothing more than a lie.”

The words quelled her vanity in thinking that this discussion just had something to do with the two of them. Between his manner and his words, she sensed something darker than mere discontent, and the fact that he was sharing his doubts about Konoha with a foreigner, with a kunoichi from a rival village, suggested something more.. seditious… Her face must have shown some measure of the surprise she felt at the assertion, for the young man took a step back and continued, a measure of resentment creeping into his tone, before confessing that he said it all because he wanted no secrets between them.

It was hard for her to keep track of the connections that he was drawing which led to the jumps in topics, and she was caught off guard when he abruptly moved himself against her, his hands on the windowsill behind her neatly pinning her in the spot. The young woman reflexively leaned back, but she already stood close enough to the window that it made little difference in the space between them. Her hands had instinctively flown up at his sudden movement towards her, and her palms now rested lightly on the young man’s chest, at the moment neither pushing him away nor welcoming him any closer than the intimate proximity which he had already claimed. There was a moment where she just stared at him, her bright blue eyes wide with surprise as they met his ebony ones, as her pulse raced from the sudden closeness and the uncomfortable feeling of being trapped. Suddenly, she felt that she could understand how a caged animal might feel, and she became very still.

Kameko swallowed, before questioning, “What.. What are you asking of me?” Her voice was soft, half a whisper, but it was easy to hear when they were so close. The way that he jumped from idea to idea made it hard for her to keep clear what it was that they were talking about and what it was that he wanted from her. Besides her desiring to understand the answer to her query, her question also served to give her a moment to put her whirling thoughts together. She barely knew the man whom had trapped her within his arms, and while she did not understand his offer, she understood instinctively that she did not like the feeling of being penned in and considered ways to extricate herself from the situation, outwardly maintaining a neutral expression.

Juggling from an extreme to another wasn’t really that surprising when it came down towards the nature of this particular type of breed, since they were indeed unpredictable and untamable like a wild animal which behaved accordingly to the instincts that kicked in. Those who had the pleasure of spending more time around them could had easily reached at the same conclusion; there was no doubt t that the Uchiha clan members were driven by their unstable personalities, and they were actually capable of displaying their emotions quite strongly. In most of the cases, they were either consumed by love or hatred. Life wasn’t really that easy for them to begin with, especially since neither of those two feelings came without the other; however, the stronger one was actually capable of dictating the course of their actions.

Despite the fact that Kameko might have formed a shield once those hands were placed against his own chiseled chest, the Uchiha still felt the warm presence which radiated from them; however, the whole act was surprising since she chose to neither reject nor embrace the so called invasion of her privacy. Perhaps, the whole situation had escalated beyond the simple curiosity which acted as the irresistible bait that craved for the Uchiha’s attention; the thirst was uncontrollable. Reading her emotions had proven to be a much more difficult process than Tenzō had actually anticipated, since her playful tease did prove the fact that she was enjoying those compliments that were actually truthful, although Kameko’s determination to maintain a neutral face was nothing more than confusing for the young lad.

The raven-haired man wasn’t capable of deducing that she was feeling a bit uncomfortable due to her lack of space, as such, the man continued lingering there while focusing on the next question which posed between them. With little thoughts invested, Tenzō slithered his left hand against the windowsill before eventually letting those scrawny fingers rest upon her waist, leaving them there for the time being. In the meanwhile, those numb and pale lips went alongside her frame before halting at only an inch away from that right ear of hers. “I don’t specifically want something from you...” were the words which escaped from him before letting a small pause take over, making sure that the presence of his warm breath was being noticed by her earlobe. “What I really want... is you, in more than one way.” were his last words spoken on an allusive tone before slowly retracting his head backwards.

If she were to not show any kind of resistance towards his gesture, more specifically to push him in an aggressive manner away from her white husk, then the Uchiha would stop around the presence of her mouth before slowly changing course in order to taste her own pair of luscious lips. Maybe the gesture might have been a bit too soon or bold for her liking; despite of this, Tenzō wished to seize this opportunity that was presented towards him. It was quite rare for him to find someone that was both canny and curious regarding the perspective which he had upon the world. Perhaps, this was nothing more than a sweet illusion in which he fooled himself to take for granted, nonetheless, this was more or less a decisive moment which will either open up a few new roads or close the one which brought him here to begin with.

Through the thin material of her shirt, Kameko felt the warmth radiating off of Tenzo’s hand on her waist as he held her close while leaning in in an intimate manner. As he spoke into her ear, the feeling of his warm breath on her skin sent goosebumps down her arms, unseen beneath her sleeves. In other circumstances, it might have sparked more amorous feelings, but these were not those. Having felt as though she was penned in, trapped, she had immediately judged flight impossible, and her body had instinctively gone into the third, less spoken of, part of fight-or-flight: the freeze. It was a response that was not uncommon to the young woman; whenever there was conflict that she felt unable to deal with in the other two ways, she would make herself small and still, hearkening back to an prey's desire to avoid being noticed by a nearby predator, such as a rabbit holding absolutely still to avoid drawing the attention of the nearby cat. It wasn’t until he moved in to kiss her that she resisted, spurred into motion by his presumption.

Though they were close in height, only a couple of inches’ difference between them, Kameko had sensed that she would not be the victor if it came to a physical battle of wills between them, so she had initially sought to avoid letting it come to that. Now, those slender hands of hers exerted force against his muscular chest; it was not a shove, but a firm push against him, her refusal of his amorous gesture and her intention to recover the space between them clear. He was a stranger to her, and even more than that, his moods fluctuated from high to low from one moment to the next, making his next actions unpredictable to her; it was that foreignness which made his assertiveness read as domineering.

The young woman did not put enough force behind the gesture to compel him to step back if he chose to resist her, testing out who this man was before putting it to a conflict that she sought to avoid. She would have to take other measures should he refuse her silent request, but if he complied and stepped back, she would neatly step to her left, away from his hand on her waist and away from the confining wall, recovering some space to maneuver within. A blush colored her fair cheeks, but otherwise she was composed as she addressed him, “It’s getting late. I think you should go now, Tenzo.” The words she chose made it sound like a suggestion, but there was a clip to the ends of her words which made it sound more like a command.

Perhaps she should have recognized that this was what he had in mind when he showed up late at night with a bottle of sake. Although, despite the culture of the villages which sent youths into battle from a young age, it did not change the fact that she was still barely old enough to be considered an adult and retained enough naivety enough to be surprised by his forwardness. She considered it to be a good thing that she hadn't made much progress into her sake before he had called her over; it tended to lower her inhibitions, which was the main reason why she rarely drank.

Her hands indeed managed to make that firm push noticed, and as a response the Uchiha did slowly began backing down while leaving the woman to create the so called gap that she aimed for. Creating a bit of anger with a simple shove might have been much better for the raven-haired man, since that firm push only caused him to believe that she felt frighten by his own vessel, leaving behind nothing more than a sour taste within his mouth. Maybe he misunderstood the woman from the very beginning, since there was no doubt that he believed firmly that she might be different than those who had crossed paths with this particular young lad. Despite the fact that the blush which took over her cheeks was charming beneath his ebony eyes, the man couldn’t force himself to smile since she once more attacked him with that eerie click at the end of her words.

Trying to find someone who was capable of sharing the same vision which he did upon this world was probably nothing more than a dream which may never become a reality, as such, Tenzō once more felt the isolation which derived from this world and those within it. Countless of times the world has shown no mercy when it came towards the Uchiha clan; perhaps, they were indeed the bearers of the so called Curse of Hatred which eventually brought them there once despair managed to catch up with them. In spite of how much power they  were capable of achieving, history has proven the fact that they were incapable of surpassing or at least controlling this curse without an external kind of help, or strong influences. Destiny was something which in which the Uchiha refused to believe in, believing instead that they were capable of directing the course of their own lives; however, as time kept passing by it became more clearer that reaching that may not happen at all.

“I am...” the Uchiha said on a stuttering tone while feeling a strange sickening travel throughout his body. Those ebony eyes rested against the ground, since he didn’t wished for her to read whatever they were displaying in that moment; however, it may have not been that hard to do so at all. A deep breath was taken before the air escaped between this two pale lips, offering a bit of help with that tension which stood upon his shoulders. “I am deeply sorry, Lady Kameko. I think that I might have ended up creating the wrong impression, and my emotions pushed me to do something which you didn’t want at all.” the Uchiha apologized before scratching the back of his head, leaving the impression that he was feeling quite nervously by his own actions. Another small pause followed after in which he created a window that allowed Kameko to speak in case she wished to say anything at all; however, once he finished up placing his grey sandals back on, the Uchiha would add a few more words “I believe that’s a no towards my proposal, perhaps I was wrong... nonetheless, thank you for granting me your time, Lady Kameko.” on a hollow tone.

It seemed that as Kameko’s tension eased with his backing away, Tenzo’s only rose. There was stiffness in the set of his shoulders, as those dark eyes of his fell to the floor, refusing to meet hers. The young man seemed genuinely contrite as he apologized to her, though the bashfulness seemed sharply at odds with his previous forwardness; perhaps it was being rejected that caused his abashment. She could not say that ‘it’s okay’ for if it was, she would not have needed to push him away, but she could accept the sentiment; she did so with a nod and replied in a slightly softer tone, one that did not have the same authoritative ring as she had previously delivered, “It was just a misunderstanding.”

Would that misunderstanding be forgotten in the near future? No, probably not; the silence required that something be said, and she wasn’t the type to create enemies when she could avoid it. Besides, there were those tendrils of remaining caution that warned to avoid a confrontation between them, despite his currently apologetic manner. She trailed behind him as he made his way back through the hotel room to the door and waited as he bent down to replace the sandals on his feet. When he straightened again he addressed her once more, as though to clarify that she had indeed turned him down. Whether his proposal was in regards to the political ramblings he had begun with or if he was referring to one of a more intimate nature, her answer was the same, and she did not correct his belief. Instead she said courteously, “Of course,” in response to his thanks.

His voice had taken on a hollow tone, the wind sucked out of his sails; the night had clearly not gone the way that he had planned, and although there was some ounce of regret that he was leaving on such a low note, she had no intentions on inviting him to stay longer. She sensed that any words that she might add would only sound as empty as his did to her, so she went for brevity rather than a false sense of cheeriness over a night which had without a doubt not ended as such. Her slender hand reached up, and nonchalantly, her fingers ran through her dark hair, brushing it back. She would not rush him to take his leave, since he made clear that that was his intent, and the small gesture was as much of a fidget as she offered to the awkwardness of the situation.
