Okay, this was going to be.... interesting. He hadn't taken a student team in a looooong time; he had his kids and godchildren to teach as it was, as well as having Amaya's monkey coming around for lessons sometimes, so he was plenty busy enough. However, right now he was just... bored. Bored stupid. There was literally nothing to do but train and eat right now; with the administration of the village being non-existent, he was pretty sure that not a soul was going to contest him just putting out a call to any and all Genin without a sensei, offering them a chance to win a spot on a team with him. Not that he'd given his actual name in the message; he'd just signed it with 'Bored Jounin' and moved on. Given how lackadaisical the village was being run, he had a feeling that this was going to be one heck of a fun afternoon, with plenty of kids showing up to try out, if not watch. Not many Jounin did open casting calls like this, and when they did it was usually a mission or something similar for them to do it; so they ended up being fun as hell for them, less so for the Genin participating, and even more so for those that showed up just to watch the fireworks.

Yep.

Today was going to be interesting.

He was fully intending to get himself a couple of students; if anyone was actually good enough to get the spot. His test was simple, really. They'd just have to find a small golden coin hidden in the patch of forest. Easy. It was even a patch within a city park, so tame and not all that dangerous. He could have been that jackass and done this in the Forest of Death, or out in the deep woods with his cousins acting as enemy combatants; but these were genin he was taking... so he was going to be nice and not kill any of them. No, it was just him and his dogs; Yuki and Aki were circling the forest edge and watching for problems. None where expected, but better safe, eh? Killing someone would draw ANBU, and he didn't feel like leveling half the city just to shove some glory-seeking kid off his tail.

Earlier in the day Yuki and Aki had raced into the forest to hide the coins, in the plural of the word; decoys placed across the forest to draw attention and confuse the kids from the real prize; the single golden among them all; the rest were silver and far more reflective than the gold was, so they would be easier to see over all. The golden would be very, very well hidden, and with a time limit adding a sense of urgency... well, this was going to get interesting fast.

For the moment anyway, he was settled comfortably under a single old oak tree, grey cloak covering his body and the hood pulled up so that his face was in shadow. Only the mark on the tree above his head told of who he was; in the note he'd sent out he'd marked it with the same symbol; if they were too stupid to put two and two together, then they wouldn't survive on his squad, so they wouldn't be tested. No, you had to be smart and strong to handle him, but you also had to be lucky in a way; able to survive even when the odds worked entirely against you. Also on the note, a set of times: show up between XX:00 and XX:30 or don't show up planning to be tested; he valued punctuality, so being exceedingly late or early would get you disqualified. So now he waited, it was coming up on XX:00, so now was the time to see who would show up.

Suki sighed as she approached the park in the village. She had received a note, with not a great deal of information on it. But… She was looking for a teacher. She had come reasonably far… For a genin perhaps, but Having someone to learn from would be better than just training on her own. And what “Bored Jounin” didn't sound to endearing or too eager to teach, it was worth checking out right? Still she worried. Would someone training her simply put of boredom be a good teacher? Would they simply leave once they had more going on and didn't need a student to entertain them? Perhaps any training was better than none at all. Even if the teacher quit… Something was better than nothing right? Maybe… if only the world was so simple. Never the less, she has no intention of ignoring the note. She would come and see what test the John in had planned. For surely there would be a test. Genin greatly outnumbered jounin after all, and many didn't want more than 1 or 2 students. This left most genin just off on their own with little guidance. Suki sighed. They hadn't been too specific on where to meet, and the only identifying mark was a symbol. Surely the bored jounin would be somehow marked with the symbol right? Perhaps it was a tattoo they hand or it would be on their clothes?

Suki had arrived a bit early, wanting to make a good impression partly, but more because who knew how long it would take to identify the jounin? Suki sighed again, wondering what to do. She had the note stowed in a backpack she was wearing, which covered a fair bit of her back. That said it was no ordinary backpack. It was strapped to her in a harness like way, to keep it straight and from falling else. Normally this wouldn't be necessary, but Suki was no ordinary person. Suki was a cat. Not figuratively, not metaphorically, literally. She was walking on all fours, all 4 paws on the ground like a typical cat. She could walk upright easily, but felt no need to do so. People tended to give weird looks when they saw a cat strolling down the road upright… even more so than when they saw a cat with a backpack of sorts strapped to it. The konohagakure headband around her neck helped. Most people would assume she was a ninjas pet, and that she was delivering suplies and the like at the request of her master. Sometimes this assumption made her groan. Few people knew there even were fully sentient and self aware catsnas clever as any man. Let alone would believe that. Even when they found out she was a ninjas not a ninjas petn she often ended up being treated oddly, as if Few if any had the same expectations of her they might have of a genin. She got many of the same looks a mentally in human might from some. As if by not being human she was inherently less intelligent.

Suki stopped momentarily and stretched and tried to pull herself out of that line of thought. It did no good. Suki reached into the backpack with her tail and pulled out the note. She sat down and held it in her front paws, reading. She just wanted or make sure she had it memorized most importantly that symbol. With a light new, she stored it back and zipped the backpack shut. You had to love having a prehensile tail right? Almost as much as you had to love having thumbs… of a sort. Suki sat for a moment longer, and did a little grooming while scanning the area. A moment later she stood and continued on. She looked in all directions, hoping for something. But there wasn't much. But… as she scanned the area, there was something. A man standing around a tree. She wasn't sure what had caught her eye at first, it wasn't as though it was unusual. But then she recognized something… That symbol…

Simi walked towards him lightly hesitsntly, during him cautiously. She hesitated to ask the obvious question. Was this itself a test? Perhaps there was multiple people standing under multiple symbols… but… nothing ventured nothing gained. Over caution could be a problem too, not just rashness. ”Would you be the bored jounin?” Hopefully she was not making a big mistake.

Genin
Today marked day two of Aisling's visit to Konoha. Day one - or the evening of it since that had been about the time she had arrived - had been spent finding a hotel that would accept her so late at night, grabbing a well needed bite to eat, and then sleeping nearly twelve hours to make up for the lack of sleep she had received during her journey from Suna. Now she was rested, well fed, and currently carrying a large lidded cup of her favorite kind of tea: pumpkin spice. It wasn't exactly the right season for it but the tea was iced so she hardly cared. Konoha might not have been as hot as Suna by any account but the humidity was throwing her off compared to the dry heat she had been so used to for the past several months. She wasn't going to complain though: she'd adapt, she always did.

As usual she was dressed in a loose fitting kimono that showed quite a bit of cleavage due to her rather gifted chest size. Beneath this was a pair of leggings, allowing her to move quickly without worry of revealing too much of herself. While she normally chose to go barefoot she had decided a pair of open toed standard shinobi sandals were due given the fact she had no intentions of stepping on something sharp, pointed, and stick like while she wandered around.

Currently, the pink haired female with the golden colored eyes, was searching for any face that might be familiar. Amaya, her cousin, hadn't been in her usual haunt - the hospital - which would have worried Aisling had she not considered the thought that the other female had picked up a hobby or a boyfriend (girlfriend, maybe?).

While taking another pull of the liquid in her cup through her straw she found herself standing in a park. With a sigh she wandered onward, not stopping until she noticed an individual wearing a cloak whose face was in shadow sitting underneath of a mark which was put into a tree. Tilting her head a bit to the right, brows furrowing for a moment, she took another sip of her drink while an internal debate raged on whether or not she should ask this person if he knew Amaya, and could point her in the direction of her closest relation.

Before she could ask she noticed another individual on the scene who was asking a question to the cloaked figure already. Not wanting to be rude she would wait long enough for the cloaked individual to respond (if he did so) before she would ask, "Could either of you point me in the direction of Uchiha Amaya?" If neither could she would simply move on, but if they could it would certainly be helpful. As she waited for a response she pushed several loose strands of long pink hair behind her shoulders before folding her arms across her chest in a comfortable fashion, weight shifting to the left leg as she did so.

Rippa

Rippa moved along the streets as he was out for a walk. There was some dispute in another country they were allied with that had been stressing him out for a while but the Hokage still hadn't ordered any movement on their part. Rippa didn't agree that was the best policy but his sensei surely had his reasons. Besides if anyone was going to be sent it was likely going to involve the crap out of his division just based purely on their military strength. He had no doubt that the sword saints was the brunt of the might of Konoha. The other divisions were far more support role based. Still he was not interested in thinking too hard on why he hadn't been sent word of some sort of action to be taken and instead was greeted with only silence. Truth was he hadn't heard of any movement from Sousetsu in some time. Perhaps the man had taken ill since he last trained with Rippa before Rippa had been named Sannin. Hiding from the public eye was certainly odd in any case and typically indicated something unpleasant was going on for the individual hiding themselves. If the man had taken ill though Rippa was sure he was a trusted enough medic to have been informed and likely even consulted.

Still his emerald eyes were drawn to a subway that was open pleasantly enough. His hand raised to brush his shoulder length white hair back revealing the stubble along his chin. His black zipped up high neck tank top was covered over with a red long coat which hung open with the captain symbol on the back. Adam and Eve sat loaded on either side of his belt and the rest of the prayer bolts lined the front of his belt. Which held up his black pants that tucked into his combat boots. His Konoha headband was stitched into the right shoulder of his coat which also had his medical scroll tucked into the right inner pocket. His boots thudded as he walked into the shop and reached into his left inner coat pocket to handle his ryo. Quietly studying the menu board before deciding on something simple. A foot long black ham sandwich with Pepperjack cheese and BBQ sauce. Toasted on garlic and herb bread. He finished ordering when it was his turn and paid the woman as she wrapped his food before handing it to him with the receipt. Casually he tossed the little paper in the waste bin on his way out having no use for receipts but not wanting to tell the server such out of bashfulness. Still he continued to the park with his meal in hand.

He walked along one of the walking path as he unwrapped his sandwich and the savory smells flooded around him. He breathed them in with excitement and licked his lips before digging into the first bite. The moist meat soaking the bread just enough with melted cheese filling his mouth with a hint of spice. It was so delicious with a kick of BBQ he almost didn't notice the shift in temperature in the park. Not many others noticed it this far from the source but he could almost feel the impressive chakra pressure. It was impressive though it carried an almost canine like feel to it. Territorial with a hint of playfullness lined with loyalty. He knew Inuzuka chakra when he felt it though this individual was impressive. He couldn't tell if they were stronger than him this far away but he knew they were strong. Still it drew his emerald gaze to look about himself. At first his eyes were drawn to a cat with a headband and then the hooded man she was speaking to. However quickly they snapped to either side of him one side at a time. Interestingly enough there were two very large canines roaming about. He certainly hoped this Inuzuka was a pleasant individual because if they were not he was not going to be able to protect a group of people in the distance, the cat by the person and himself with those two hounds nearby too. For now though he just stopped and leaned against a tree as his eyes shifted back and forth between all the parties there while failing to look inconspicuous and managing to conceal the majority of his chakra.

Still his eyes shifted as yet another person approached the hooded figure. Cute enough girl with some cleaveage...showing....he looked away from that quickly with a tinge of red on his cheeks as his ears strained to listen from across the way as he slowly chewed on the huge sandwich. Not really making much head way. He wished he had purchased a soda as well but for the time being he was simply curious. However he heard the girl clearly now as his ears twitched while he badly pretended not to listen. Did she mention Amaya? How interesting of a coincidence was that? He had just met the woman a couple of days ago. He was curious now about the answer and the individual so he continued to take tiny bites while listening in.

Oh, there we go; people beginning to arrive. Excellent, it was a start, even if it was just two or three at a time. Hell, he could have been overestimating the chances of people showing up; I mean really, it was very plausible for people to think that his invitation was a joke, or absolute bullshit; but he really didn't much care about those that did. Really, if you choose not to show because of assumptions, that was your choice, and your loss. He had people, that was enough.

Wait.

Was that...?

"Aisling?" His attention had snapped to her when she approached, the asking for Amaya had pushed his brain into working and recognizing the female that smelled of the desert sands far away from the humid forests of his homeland. "You are, aren't you? I haven't seen you since you were a small child; my word how you've grown up." He was remaining with his hood lowered and relaxed against the tree; he didn't feel the need to move much at all, his words would cause the curiosity that would bring the female to investigate. This was some random person in a park in a massive village covered in grey cloak material and smelling of wet dog and ice to anyone that could sense it, talking about you like you were an old acquaintance; or more so like a family member you hadn't seen in years; without introducing themselves or allowing for any visual information toward their identity at all. It was a curious, likely disconcerting, situation. Fun times.

To the other female, his hidden attention snapped to; a sort of change in the focus of his chakra would be noticed by anyone that could sense it; as he focused on individual people, his attention forced the radiating icy of his chakra to focus toward the specified individual; not that many would notice much more than what could be written off as a gentle, cool breeze (abet random in nature and out of place often enough), which was usually ignored and forgotten quickly enough. This child, one of the genin he'd sent a letter too he was going to guess at by the question asked; she was old enough to be a Chunnin obviously, anyone old enough to graduate the academy was old enough to be promoted; but something about her spoke of youth that hadn't been turned jaded by the world; a sense of youth that only Genin had. "I may well be, I am rather bored, and I am a Jounin of a sort. What leads you to believe I may be that which you seek?" A loaded question; another part of his little test. Would she have connected the dots between the symbol on the note and the tree, or was she guessing and asking every random person that could possibly be him? This was yet to be seen.

Sniff.

Meat. Tasty, tasty meat. Bread. Some sort of tomato sauce.

A meatball sandwich? Well, if he wasn't just salivating over that idea.

There was more, however. Blood? Iron, anyway. Lots of iron and... yes; the smell of dried blood. Old blood. Living blood. Not within the body, however; this was in the air, but still alive somehow. Huh. Someone from that blood clan? It was possible; and he couldn't be sure until he found said person; unless it was just someone passing by having a bit of lunch, or an early supper; as they walked past. With a nose like his, a drop of blood in the open air half a click away smelled like it was right in front of him. At least at first. After a few moments of allowing the scents of the breeze to filter through his brain he was able to adjust and get a better idea; the person... male, if he wasn't mistaken, was nearby; which explained the strength of the scent; although he was a bit confused as to how he hadn't noticed it sooner. Maybe his focus being elsewhere, his comfort with being inside the village... the power of the sandwich blasting his nose into the territory of finding food for his rumbling gut... any of those things and a million more could have distracted him from the scent; or hidden it. Either way.

He pulled his focus from the (sandwich) blood smell and back to the females, that was were he needed to be paying attention. Part of his subconscious tracked the smell of blood (and meat! Yay meat!), allowing his greater focus on his possible student and the child he hadn't seen in nearly a decade. "Aisling, dear; Amaya was home the last I saw her, just an hour ago or so. If you don't mind waiting, I can take you to her later.~"

Genin
Everyday was always like the last, or at least that's what it always felt like for Hatako. Routine plagued his everyday life, making it much more of a bore than it did an adventure. You'd think being a shinobi would be a rather, well, interesting career path--but as a genin, there wasn't much to do other than hunt down lost pets and run a few errands for senior shinobi. Oh, and between all of that? Sleep--lots o'sleep.

Piercing through the vail of drawn curtains, the rays of sunshine broke through--kissing Hatako's face as he lay asleep. As time moved forward, as it always does, the sun danced with it. When it was finally noon, the light that found its way through the curtains now found Hatako's eyes. This, in turn, awakened the young shinobi as his circadian rhythm picked up on this natural queue.

"Noon already..." Hatako mumbled, his eyes squinted as he tried to adjust to the light that flooded his room. Slowly, he sat up, rubbing his face as he attempted to shift focus from wanting to rest his head back on the bed and sleep for just a little while longer. Having convinced himself that he needed to start his day, he threw back his comforter and slipped on his slippers so that he could move about his cold, wooden floors in comfort.

After having finally managed to pull himself out of bed, Hatako moseyed his way into the kitchen, flipping the light switch and turning his focus to the small teapot that sat on the stovetop. Sluggishly, he shuffled towards the cupboard above the stove and pulled from it a box of caffeinated green tea. However, before pulling all that he needed to conjure up a cup of tea, he hesitated and yelled into the hallway.

"Would you like me to fix you any tea, mom?" asked Hatako, patiently waiting for his mother's answer.

"No dear! I'm fine! Although, if you could please get the mail, that'd be great! I forgot to check the letter box yesterday morning." replied his mother, Hatako's head slumping as he realized he'd have to journey to the bottom floor to retrieve yesterday's mail.

"Right, will do, mom." Hatako replied, as he started boiling his water and pulling his cup from out of another cupboard. Quickly, he put aside two packets of tea into his cup and made his way out the door, mail key in hand.

Seeing as Hatako had become familiar with routine, getting yesterday's mail wasn't quite part of it. Therefore, with his everyday morning tea being front-and-center in his mind, he quickly shot down the flight of stairs and flew even quicker to the family of mailboxes that were situated at the foot of them.

"Uzumaki, Mailbox #321"

Nearly jamming the key into their mailbox, Hatako swiftly collected the mail. Locking the box as rapidly as he had opened it, he soon found himself again traversing up the flight of stairs--his eyes and hands shifting through the articles of mail that he had just picked up for his mother. Usually, the mail was just for his mother, as no one ever really sent Hatako mail of any sort--however it was still always nice to check. Yet, it was when Hatako found himself shifting to the last piece of mail, that he realized that today was going to be quite a bit different.

"UZUMAKI, HATAKO" read a small letter.

As Hatako finally reached his doorstep, he stopped, analyzing the letter--taking the moment in as if it were some special occasion. It wasn't everyday that he received a letter, and if he did it usually was addressed to both him and his mother--however, this time it was just for him. Given this rarity, excitement and curiosity ensued and Hatako soon found himself tearing into the letter, only to find a time, place, and symbol sloppily scribbled onto it.

"The Park? Today? IN 20 MINUTES?!" thought Hatako, his eyes widening as he realized that the invitation's stated time was coming down on him quicker than it took for him to even read its contents.

In a frenzy, Hatako threw himself into the apartment, the teapot steaming ferociously as the water inside boiled with just as much excitement as Hatako seemed to glow with. Like a bolt of lightning, he dashed into his room (almost throwing himself out his window) and put on his usual shinobi attire. He hurriedly buttoned-up his black jacket-like shirt, crammed his feet into his shinobi sandals, and ran his fingers through his hair to give it its usual messy (yet charming) appearance. After gathering himself for a moment, he reached for his cologne (to rid himself of his somewhat boyish smell) and sprayed a little of the spicy-wooden scent onto his chest.

Now that he was ready, Hatako scurried out of his room (shutting the door behind him) and ran into the kitchen, only to realize that his water had but evaporated from the pot--and therefore, he would not be having his tea this morning. But did he care? Usually, he would, it was part of his routine--but today was already proving to be quite the unusual day as is.

"Hey! I'll be going out for a bit, mom! If you need anything go to see Mr. Miyazaka next door!" shouted Hatako, as he grabbed his headband and jumped out the opened window in the living room.

With nearly ten minutes to spare, Hatako ran through the streets of Konoha in a frenzy, dodging civilians as they went about their day as he was his. As he made his way towards the inner-city park, Hatako realized that there were more people out-and-about than usual--probably given the fact that today was an exceptionally beautiful day, unlike the last few that were bedeviled by storms. Nonetheless, it was nice seeing the happy faces of the people that Hatako had made an oath to protect...it was always a good reminder that he was doing good with the life he had been given.

Five minutes having passed, and Hatako having nearly collided with various villagers as he made his way to the park, he finally had made it to the invitation's stated location. With sweat dripping down his face, he surveyed the area, looking for any indication of where he was to go specifically. While observing, he noticed an obscure man eating a sandwich--his attention appearing to be slightly drawn towards a hooded man that sat against a tree, the symbol from the letter posted above him. However, Hatako also noticed some distressed cat with a bag, and a young kunoichi interacting with the hooded man. After some internal debate, Hatako figured that he probably wasn't here to eat sandwiches with the weird man afar--therefore, he ventured over to the tree, looking to see what exactly he had been invited to.

"I'm going to assume you're who sent me this rather cryptically obscure invitation." Hatako said to the hooded man, dropping the letter at his feet, folding his arms with his green, emerald eyes focused on the hooded man--ignoring the cat and young girl that were also engaging the mysterious fellow.

Who was Amaya? Someone had approached him right after her asking this question. The name had a vague ring to it… but she doubted she had met this person. Perhaps they were a ninja around and she had heard it before? Who knew? It was hard to keep track of names you had no face to put to. And she could always merely think it sounded familiar, but mixing it up with a similar name. Regardless, she had not even the slightest clue who “Amaya” could be. But… It really wasn't her business anyway. Regardless she found herself feeling slightly indignant. She had approached first the pink haired girl had waited for her… which was kind enough. But She felt snubbed and written off as the man outright ignored her in favor of talking to the other girl. It was somewhat rude, and suki wasn't quite sure how she felt about it. Though she didn't know Amaya, at least now she had a name to put to the pink haired and golden eyed girl. Suki had to admit the girl was good looking. Were it not for a species difference… she might have been attracted to her. After all, she was Bisexual. She still felt a bit indignant. The man she had adressed was conversing with the girl and had yet to look at her, or in any way acknowledged her presence. Suki sighed internally and wrapped.her tail around herself as she sat In front of him and to the side.

After what, to her, seemed a tad longer than it really was, he turned his attention to her. A cool breeze flew by, from him almost. And she wasn't sure him and the breeze were disconnected. After all if one could sense a killing intent who could say what other feelings or such a person could project?… anyway… instinct told her he and the breeze were not unconnected. It seemed to come from him, and not as if he had his back to the wind and it simply can from his direction. Regardless, she looked upward towards the symbol above. ”Well sir…. I doubt you are standing under that symbol for no reason. If you are not the person I seek, you are likely connected to him or her in some way. It could always have been a trap I know… But… I have seen that symbol on no other place near here…. Though I could have missed it… at any rate… If I say debating what to do… I would inevitably run out of time. Caution is wise… but in this case, with a time limit… boldness is sometimes necessary.” Suki looked upwards at him, half warily half expectantly. Yet the tenseness hadn't completely left her, she sat poised to retreat if she had to… Buy if he was a jounin… well...it would probably be a futile effort. Suki gave an audible sniff, looking around showing slight curiosity and confusion. Even without the clan markings she might have guessed… He smelled… almost as much like a dog as he did a human. Whether that was just how he smelled or partly due to being around dogs all day… she may not have the legendary inuzuka nose… but she was still a cat.

Suki sniffed again. She loved the smell here. The forest and tree smell, the email of earth and water… but also… The small of meat. A subway was nearby, and a slightly closer source of the meaty smell as well… That sat, it was not too easy to tell exactly what it was. Again, she may be a cat but she didn't have a bloodhound's nose. She smelled it, and the meaty smell mixed with cheese and veggies coming from a subway nearby. Her stomach let out a slightly audible request for sustenance. She had eaten today of course, but with that smell on so strong in the air.

Suki snapped out of her reverie when a man, closer to a boy approached. He asked the same question she had, though perhaps in a more blunt matter. Suki sighed softly, a human nosen and stood, approaching the guy after he talked and gave his leg a casual sniff, her tail half aloft in the typical friendly feline greeting. She may be as smart as an man, as self aware, etc… But she was a cat nontheless after all.

.oO(Apologize for the wait, my new job has been murder the past few days.)

"......"

Okay, that would have been creepy had the wind not brought two familiar scents to her: ice and dog. It might have been years since she had last seen the man but that was a smell she knew no other person to have. It was a smell that caused her to bounce in place and an excited grin to spread across her face. She had been hoping to find Amaya and from her find everyone else, but here she was finding Kenta of all people.

So, que the ignoring of everyone else around as she all but launched herself, arms open, at the man and hugged him. She was ignoring the formalities because family, meaning she hardly cared at all what anyone around thought or what they were doing there at that moment. "DOG MAN!" The words were filled with endearment: while some might have called him that as an insult Aisling did it because when she was young she had had a problem pronouncing his name - and while she could say it perfectly fine now she hardly bothered. Dog man was what she had called him, and dog man was what she would likely continue to call him. Plus, given how curious everyone seemed to be about this man sitting underneath of the symbol perhaps it was a good idea not to call him out by his name at the moment.

Were Kenta not to move she would wrap him up in a quick, happy, and very energetic hug before releasing him and standing back. She was all for waiting for Kenta to finish up with whatever it was he was doing before being led to Amaya: Kenta was as much family as Amaya was after all, so spending time with him would be just as good.

Chuunin
Ginza stretched as he sat up, setting his book to the side. He'd been reading another book on medical ninjutsu theory that he was planning to put into practice once he had time to train and experiment with it. It wouldn't take him long to find the time he hoped, with how lax the administration building had been with handing out missions of late. He'd noticed. Of course he had, that things had come to a crawl. Were things truely that peaceful that there simply weren't enough missions to keep up with how many shinobi there were in the village ranks? Or was there something else like turmoil causing issues with the administration of the village? He was curious, but at the current moment in time, it wasn't his place to explore the inner-workings to find those answers.

With a deep breath, Ginza pushed himself to his feet, glancing once more at the book before snagging his pack and heading out of his tiny apartment. He needed to check his mail to see if there was anything of worth within it. Sometimes there was, most times there wasn't really anything that needed to be concerned with, unless it was something about a mission. He didn't know anyone well enough anymore, that they would send him letters beyond the professional. So he trecked to the little shared area of mailboxes that the complex had and inserted his key into the little metal box.

Inside was a simple slip of paper with some brief scrawled words on it.

Odd. One eyebrow rose as he lifted it up out of the tiny metal mailbox and read it over. It seemed to be a call to action for genin to be tested but it was signed 'Bored Jounin' without a name. That was puzzling. He turned the little note over in his hand contemplating it, spotting a symbol that he was fairly certain that he'd seem before, and he began to rack his memory in an attempt to figure out what it was. Having read so many books, sorting through his memories for something so small was going to be a little difficult, but eventually his mind pulled up a memory of a tree in the city park... that must be where this 'Bored Jounin' would want them to meet.

However, finding a note in his mailbox signed 'Bored Jounin' was certainly not something that Ginza had ever really expected to find. Brief, concise, messages about missions, reminders about the library books that he was renting, bills, and other forms of mail, he did indeed expect. But, a message simply with a time for a test from a 'Bored Jounin' was certainly not a form of mail that he'd ever expected. It was certainly creative, he supposed, if it were an actual call to action for genin. But, with no name on it what-so-ever, it left Ginza  suspicious, wondering if this was a trick or prank. Though, whomever it was would certainly have to have some access to his records seeing as they knew where he lived and that he was in fact a genin.

Subderfuge could of course be how they knew, if they had been spying on him. But he doubted that that was the case. Someone would have little cause to spy on him. And those who did, he doubted that they would be capable of doing so, not that they'd want to risk coming to Konoha in the first place. Still, for now, he would proceed with an air caution, just to be entirely safe.

Stuffing the note into one of the little pouches on his belt while closing and locking his little mailbox, Ginza then began to make his way towards the city park to meet whomever it was that craved the attention of himself and probably a few other Genin.  It was approaching the time table that it had mentioned on the note, so he was sure he wouldn't be late to the event. He'd get there before the two times mentioned and everything would be fine, if this was a perfectly genuine request. Getting to the park, he surveyed the area, looking from individual to individual currently in the park before his eyes came to settle on a cloaked individual standing below the symbol that was on the tree. So... that certainly had to be the individual that had put the note in his mailbox. Oh, how mysterious this 'Bored Jounin' was.

Slowly he approached the man, watching as he saw three individuals already gathered before the man. One was a cat, probably from the Ninneko clan that he'd read about. Animal shinobi like the one who was here for the hooded shinobi were rare, but you would still see them every once in a while. Interesting. Another was the pink haired girl, Aisling that he'd met at the pool, and the other. And the last that was there in front of the other was the dark haired boy that he had met at the monument was named Hatako.  As he approached them, he could just hear the masculine voice directing his attention to Aisling, and he watched with a slightly raised eyebrow as the girl launched herself at him, drawing him into a hug. Well, that probably meant that he wasn't of malicious intent, seeing that the girl had good morals, and it wasn't likely to align herself with bad folks.

That she launched herself without any regard for formality did garner a small huff of a chuckle from him  that would certainly be missed by the others as he approached. She clearly knew the 'Bored Jounin' at least somewhat well. Perhaps he would have to talk to her later to get more information. As he got near them, his normal impassive look had settled back on his face, and he leaned against one of the other trees near the man, fishing in the pouch in his pocket and lifting it out to show the reason that he was there silently. He gave a small nod to Aisling and Hatako in hello, but he really had no need to say a thing aloud just yet, with the others engaging the man as they were. He could wait patiently to find out what was going on, and what their task was.

Rippa quietly monitored the situation with an emerald gaze that wasn't sure what was going on exactly. Not that he cared much but there was still an oddity about it all. If he had to guess based on the large canines in the area the mystery person was an inuzuka. He could think of none others that held such a claim to fame with the animals. While it was possible that the dogs were sentient enough to just be having a day out he felt there was too much purpose in their movements. Almost like they were patroling the area. He had to keep his free hand from resting on the hilt of his weapons to prevent any escelation that wasn't coming. For now he simply observed as two more approached. Males this time of course and yet they seemed to have purpose as the cat did. The girl who had uttered a name that drew his attention however had an air about her of casualness. It could be possible that she just kept herself calm in intense situations but that usually required intense training. A lot of people lost sight of that and over stepped their boundaries or never strived for more.

Rippa himself seemed to be rather ignored for the time being which suited him alright. He was simply being curious after all even if his red coat stood out just a little in the green surroundings. His back was to the tree hiding the captain symbol though so at least no one would recognize him so easily as to see the symbol. Those who didn't know his name didn't really have a need to. They could go about their daily lives without stressing over the little bits in it. Instead his eyes were drawn to the first boy to arrive. He said something too quiet for Rippa to hear clearly but that was only mildly frustrating. The mystery figure had chosen to engage the cat in conversation and still Rippa couldn't hear well enough. Even as strong as he was it appeared he would need to be closer for casual conversation to be audible. He just needed to wait for the oppertunity or so he though when the woman screamed out something about a dog man and all but tackled the mystery individual. If nothing else that confirmed it. An Inuzuka indeed. His emerald eyes darted to the dogs a moment before he took the opperunity to move faster than any genin could track. One moment he was under the tree and the next he was just ten meters away chilling in a tree with his legs on a branch and his back against the trunk. Sandwich filling his mouth.

He had hope that the distraction was enough for him to get so close so he could hear now what was going on. A mere ten meters was well within range for him however a part of him doubted it. After all if this was a 'dog man' he likely was far too aware of how much closer rippa had gotten and hiding would be pointless quickly. Still Rippa was not holding onto a hostile presence and instead was just obnoxiously nosey. Still he figured the last to arrive so far would divulge some information finally. Eager eyes drifted to watch as ears strained only to be met with dissappointing silence. Oh how he had such high hopes for this individual to be his clue in on all that was going on in the park today and all he saw was a couple of familiar nods and no words. He was frustrated now as he began to stress eat more of his sandwich. His cheeks puffing out a little bit.

Setting the Post Order:
Going to go ahead and set this now, just to keep confusion from being really bad.

As far as I know this is everyone joining, so we should be good from here on.

A sound that could only be described as a hyena barking a laugh escaped from the cloaked man, he couldn't help himself even as he forced her to remain in one hell of a bear hug for longer than she'd likely planned on; he hadn't seen her in years and she was family. Family was the most important think to an Inuzuka, specially to one like him, and he was going to get his fill of a hug thank you very much. "Well Aisling, you gone and outed me then, so I might as well stop being cryptic and junk." He shifted as he pulled away, moving so that the hood of his cloak fell off his head and revealed his very, very obvious coloring and markings. That golden hair, golden eyes, one Inuzuka fang mark and ice chakra that washed cleanly over the area... yeah; anyone that knew anything about Kenta would recognize him instantly.

"So yes, I'm glad that, before Aisling appeared, some of you had figured out I was who sent the message; recognizing patterns and such is a highly valuable skill for any ninja, especially ones that want to be my student. Or survive as my student, anyway. For those of you too young to recognize me... well; whether you want to believe it or not doesn't much bother me, but I was once rather... well known around these parts. I'm Inuzuka Kenta; that Inuzuka Kenta, and no, I'm not dead. Although as far as the administration of the village is concerned, I am. Don't ask me why; I don't know the reason myself. Anyway; moving on from that; I'm looking to take one or two students, I need something to do during the day, and this is the best way for me to kill time."

The blond moved to release the cloak from his body, it was held together by a hidden catch on his right shoulder, which he flicked open and allowed it to fall away; revealing that he was wearing a rather normal Jounin uniform; the classic dark blue tunic shirt underneath an older style, but still intact, Jounin flak jacket; long pants that reached down to his wrapped ankles, but no shoes; he'd never been one for the typical ninja boot-sandals, his feet were perfectly fine with just a bit of wrapping around the heels for support. He reached his left hand to his lips, fingers placed against the flesh and pressing in a way that allowed him to whistle a single, sharp, very high pitched note; he was signalling to his ninken to come to him. Both dogs seemed to materialize out of thin air, sitting by his side and looking wholly bored with their day. "This is Yuki," he gestured to the snow-white, smaller female, "This is Aki," to which he gestured to the massive dusty red malamute looking male. "My partners, obviously. They've been circling around the area watching you as you came in. They'll be circling around while you work as well; both for safety, and to make sure no one breaks the rules I'm going to set."

Both dogs vanished at that moment, going back to their running and patrolling. Kenta glanced over the group; an expression that spoke of... interest and amusement tugging at his sharp, canine features. "Now, I have been gone for a very long time, so outside of Aisling here, I don't recognize any of you; so I'm going to open the floor for you to introduce yourselves. That being said, if you don't feel like doing that, I'm not going to bother forcing you. I can find out all I need about your skills and such via your records, and anything else by watching how you work and respond in the field. If you plan on talking, tell me anything you think is relevant, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them now. I guarantee no answers, but you might get lucky."

He paused a moment, glancing between the youth before him each in turn, memorizing faces and such as he did so. His attention turned then to the older male floating around the edges; the one with the food that had been distracting him (Damn, he'd been wrong about that sandwich. Still tasty, but it seemed to be more like a black ham and swiss on a garlic bread? He refused to look at it hard enough to be one hundred percent on that, because if he did he'd want to wander off to get one of his own.), the one that smelled of living-dead blood and was obviously not a Genin. No... this was something far more, a Jounin, easily. Maybe off-duty ANBU? Could be more than that, really; it would be stupid to think that the upper echelons of the village was exactly the same as when he left; when he'd been Hokage the Sannin had been family to him, his brother-in-arms Naota and Naota's sister Amaya, who was his personal medic and the closest thing to a sister he'd ever had. There hadn't even really been a third Sannin, no one had seen the third in years, and at the time there hadn't been a viable replacement; not with his only Jounin becoming his replacement; that Kimura boy Takao; good kid, if super green to become Kage. Still, anything was better than nothing, and while the village wasn't where he'd wanted it to be, he'd seen enough records to known that it wasn't Takao's fault at all; and that the leadership after him had been pretty... shit, for a long time. The current Senju running shit had been doing good, but then he just up and vanished, and that was worrisome. He'd need to fix this, sooner rather than later; but now wasn't the time. Not yet. Soon. "So, blood man. What's your story? You wander by, see a bunch of genin flocking like moths to a flame around a Jounin and stop to see what's going on? Or am I readin' too much into that? You seem... like I've seen you before, but I've been gone a looong time, you would have been a kid when I left; so I might have seen you way back when and just don't fully remember you."

If life weren't peppered with mystery here, and there, one could assume that life would be rather boring. The very presence of "mystery" made some of life's weirdest moments just that more memorable. Not only that, but mystery came with no routine whatsoever--and it didn't discriminate. For Hatako, today was filled with nothing but mystery, and this was especially so given the current atmosphere around the creepy individual that had invited him here.

As Hatako stood there, having dropped the invitation he had been sent at the man's feet, the young kunoichi that had arrived before him did something that was rather...unexpected. Without any foreshadowing, or forewarning, the girl screamed "DOG MAN" and proceeded to tackle him (playfully). Almost seemingly wrapping herself tightly around the man like a cobra, she hugged him and seemed to brim with excitement and happiness.

A bit taken aback by this, Hatako nearly jumped out of his skin as he held his forearms in a defensive position, one leg lifted in the air as if he were about to start sprinting. His eyes seemed to bulge from his skull, as his mouth hung open in disbelief that the young kunoichi would ignore the formality of the situation. Although, as soon as he realized that the two must be acquainted with each other from the past, Hatako lowered his guard rather quickly--only to notice that a familiar face had joined the reunion of sorts.

"Ginza...?" thought Hatako, as he stared at the boy, having remembered meeting him back when he had visited the Shinobi Monument days before. As Ginza approached them, he nodded at Hatako as if that being his way of saying hello. Therefore, without thinking, Hatako mirrored this action and turned his attention back towards the mystery man that had invited them all here.

Shifting focus, and the young kunoichi still seemingly attached to the man, the cloaked fellow seemed to let out a boisterous laugh as he and her continued their embrace, until the man ostensibly backed away and his hood fell from his head--revealing an obvious characteristic about himself.

"An Inuzuka..?!" Hatako screamed in his head, brimming with excitement as he had never really met one of these famed animal-tamers before. Although, after studying his face for a moment, Hatako realized that there was something even more unique about this individual...he was a former Hokage.

Having been quite stunned by this, Hatako realized that this was just no strange man--but one of Konoha's many legends, and that he came from a lineage of powerful shinobi that were referred to as the village's strongest: Hokage.

Almost lost in thought, now realizing that he was in the presence of a former Hokage, Hatako quickly was drawn back to reality when the Inuzuka started to speak--explaining himself and as to why he had invited them all here today.

Perplexed, Hatako's head fell sideways a little bit--realizing that he had spoken too soon...that the man, while a former Hokage, was still strangely a mystery. First, the Inuzuka was obviously acquainted with young kunoichi, Aisling, although it seemed to go a bit further than just being "acquainted". Secondly, it seemed as if merely finding him were a test (or at least, the Kenta made it seem this way when speaking upon "recognizing patterns"). Thirdly, the Inuzuka is apparently "dead" according the administration yet here he is--just as much as alive as Hatako was. If that weren't complicated enough...being dead but not dead, the former legend was also looking to take on one or two students--and this in itself was a strange, yet once and a lifetime, opportunity.

Dead, or not, Hatako didn't care. Now knowing the true intentions of the man, he was determined to do what he could so that he could possibly train under the legendary man. For years, Hatako had dreamed of one day becoming strong (like his distant ancestor, Naruto Uzumaki), and what better way than to become a student of a former Hokage? However, having realized that associating the invitation with the Inuzuka had been a test of sorts (or at least it seemed that way), Hatako could only wonder what else the man was looking to test them on...therefore, the mystery ensued.

Having not really been paying attention again, but rather having been lost in thought, Hatako was suddenly startled when the Inuzuka let out a high-pitched whistle. Then, without having had much time to even blink, two large dogs appeared nearly out of thin air. In both amazement and bewilderment, Hatako but gazed at the dogs with "puppy-dog" eyes of his own.

"I'm sure if I tried to touch one of them though that they could probably swallow me whole..." Hatako pondered, as his eyes widened and he quickly stopped making eye contact with him, turning his attention back to the Inuzuka.

After having introduced his two canine partners, the Inuzuka's dogs disappeared again just as quick as they had arrived. Now with their (or at least Hatako's) attention now refocused on the man that had invited him here, the Inuzuka began to speak again, this time kindly making a request of the genin.

Having been one of the last to have arrived, Hatako certainly wasn't going to allow himself to be one of the last to speak. Therefore, without much hesitation, he began to give the Inuzuka an answer--although telling the man what he probably already knew about the him.

"I'm Uzumaki, Hatako," boldly stated the Uzumaki, as his eyes filled with flare and a smile wrapped itself around his face. "I'm originally from the Land of Tea, although how I ended up here I don't like to talk about too often. However, like some of my ancestors before me, I too wish to one day be strong enough to protect those that I love." Hatako proclaimed, confidence brimming from his demeanor...determination flooding his face, his eyes.

"I don't come from much, and although it may only be my mom and I..." Hatako's eyes drifting towards the ground a bit as he said this.

"I've got a pretty considerably large, beautiful home and family." Hatako stated valiantly, outstretching his arms as to demonstrate the entire village was what, and who, he considered "family". However, it would be after stating this that Hatako slightly leaned forward as to tell a secret...cupping his hands around his mouth as he said...

"Although, I don't know if I could call that pervert, eating the sandwich, over there 'family'." Hatako said to the group, almost whispering so that the man over yonder didn't hear him.

Suki didn’t make a sound as her friendly greeting to the boy who would soon introduce himself as Hatako was ignored. It did irk her slightly, the way anyone who finds their friendly hello ignored might feel. Some part of her wondered idly if it was just the sort of thing that got lost in translation. Perhaps her greeting had simply been lost to the inevitable misunderstandings humans had towards felines. Regardless, she took a moment to calm herself. She had felt a bit snubbed when the jounin had ignored her completely to talk to Aisling, but they seemed to be long lost family or something akin to that, and so Suki dismissed it. Assuming that was the case, their reactions and behavior made sense. Most especially so the large tackle-hug that she launched just moments ago. The jounin however seemed to not be the least bit surprised or perturbed and wrapped Aisling into what looked like quite the monstrous bear hug. Suki sat and let out of soft giggle. Any ill or anxious feelings seemed to melt away. It was amusing to watch, to say the least. Suki wondered whether it made any of the other people anxious or awkward. Many people seemed to have issues with public displays of affection. It would likely come as no surprise to anyone that Suki had no such qualms. Why it would bother anyone was somewhat of a mystery to her in the first place. Again, she had to assume that was another societal issue. That said, she had yelled “Dog Man!” which gave away his clan. Though she couldn't see his face well due to his hood… That combined with his scent, could likely only be inuzuka.

Another person was coming. Suki’s ears flicked backward and she turned her head. “Person” had been a bit of an understatement. Giant more like. Suki, despite being huge compared to some house cats, was dwarfed in height by all humans. But this man was beastly in his physical stature. He had to be nearly six and a half feet tall! Suki sat quite still for a moment, and gave a friendly wave, which he was likely to ignore. Though at his hight, she partly wondered if even with this distance if it would be hard for him to see her. Her only comfort was that if they got in a fight, this giant might have trouble fighting her, especially when she was on all fours. While sitting standing she was only 16 inches tall to the shoulders, 20ish counting her head. That was less than 2 feet. If she guesstimate he was about 6’4, and she figured he was probably closer to 6’5 or 6’6, but why not be conservative… That put him at 76 inches. Subtract 20, and he was an astounding 56 inches taller than her, just shy of 5 feet taller!

Suki fidgeted for a moment. She had heard something. It could have been her imsginatio. Though. More noticably, the smell of meat and veggies had changed. It was coming from a new place, and closer, if a bit higher up. Suki looked up and towards any tree branches in view, but didn't see anything at all. That said… Just in case she was going to have to pay more attention. It wouldn't do to be a snuck up on after all.

Suki lost track of her thoughts entirely for a moment… he was Kenta? That Kenta? That made him Hokage… perhaps not active Hokage, but he would still a Hokage. Any lead ninja would know that name. You didnt become a ninja of this village without knowing the names of the current and last Hokage. That said, how could the administration really think someone who is quite alive be dead? How could that happen? Was he really Kenta? She’s be foolish to ignore the posibility that he wasn't. But, even if he wasn't, asking if he really was would be pointless. Asking a masked man his identity was paradoxical. Maybe not physically masked but, gah it sisnr matter. Regardless. She had nothing to gain by questioning it. For now she would assume he was indeed Kenta Inuzuka. She had no reason to assume he was lying after all.

After introducing his companions, while Suki tried to get a good sniff of, but who practically vanished after being introduced, he asked them to them him about themselves. Here again, she had nothing to gain by keeping anything about her secret, like how she had nothing to gain from questioning his claim. But before anything about herself claim to mind, the man she had tried to give a friendly greeting to began speeking. Suki wasn't entire site why, but she though he sounded rather pompous. His answer almost too… politically correct. The whole village was His family? The comment struck her as a mix of ppmpous. But… perhaps she was reading too much onto it. But Hatako, did seem like a fairly genuine Person. Suki thought for a moment, and revised her previous notions. And even if he was a tad pompous he seemed good natured and friendly. Suki outright let out a giggle when he called however was listing in a pervert. Suki decided she very much likes Hatako.

Umm… not entirely sure what to say about myself. My name is Kimura, Suki, and I hail from the Ninneko clan here in the land of fire. I don’t truly know what to say, some questions I have thought to ask would be pointless if not paradoxical. I use fuiinjutsu and ninjutsu? I hesitate to say so in front of everyone else not yet knowing what the test will be, but in revealing he is an Uzumaki, Hatako has given us a fair hint, and it’s only fair for me to be honest about my skillset as well. Besides you haven’t said what the test will be yet. We may need to work as a team… And that would be hard if we didn't know what each other was generally good at. As for my question… I suppose the obvious. “What will the test be” anything else I can think of would be stupid to ask, so I’ll simply have to draw conclusions based on what I can observe.

Bear hugs! Normally Aisling absolutely hated being touched. In fact, touching her was a one way ticket to being stabbed unless you were one of the few people she honestly allowed. Kenta? He was on that very short list. So, she was more than happy to tolerate the Inuzuka's bear hug for as long as he wanted. He was family, and she rather liked her family.

It came to light then that apparently Kenta had been planning something, some kind of test or what have you. Aisling was beginning to feel really out of the loop and perhaps out of place. He clearly had something that needed done with the individuals who had arrived, and the last thing Aisling wanted to do was be in the way: it wouldn't be fair for everyone else. Already she had sort of given a great big ol' middle finger to proper eticite in situations such as these by launching herself at Kenta, or rather Dog Man as she had called him.

Kenta had said he would take her to Amaya later on, and she knew he would. For now, perhaps it was time to do some exploring while he was busy. It wasn't like he wouldn't be able to easily track her down; she had spent enough time around Inuzuka to know who the best trackers were after all. There was just nothing they couldn't find if they put their noses to it.

So, in quiet Aisling would wait until everyone finished speaking before grinning at Kenta. "I'll leave you to it... I'm going to go get some tea and explore a bit. I'm sure you'll find me easily enough later on when you're not busy." She would pause long enough to see if he had anything else left to say before she would wave and head off to go find the biggest cup of watermelon tea she could possibly discover.

Ginza

Chuunin
Settling against his tree, having just given his nods of hello to those he knew, he looked down and saw the Ninneko clan member wave up at him with her opposable and prehensile paw. The shinobi cats were positively fascinating in how they differed from regular cats. He'd have to observe the way that she worked, though he doubted that it would be much different than any other shinobi's work. It might be though, so he'd observe her for now. He turn he gave her another small nod in greeting to her little wave before his eyes were being torn away to focus on the movements of Aisling and their mysterious 'Bored Jounin' who had called them all here today.

Ginza could only stare as he watched the man pull away from Aisling and dropped the hood that had been hiding his features, taking him a moment to realize that Aisling had departed, leaving them to follow whatever the man wanted to do. But his eyes were soon turning back to the man. Those golden eyes, the golden hair and that red fang mark on his right cheek, not to mention the cool feeling of the man’s chakra. Ginza knew the man at a drop of a hat without hearing the man’s words revealing his name just yet. Kenta Inuzuka, the Jūnidaime Hokage, whom if he remembered correctly, would be only a few years older than himself, give or take. If this was truly whom he was. He’d seen him before he’d left the village for the temple, when Kenta had been slipped into his place above Sebasu Hyuuga, the Jūichidaime Hokage after Sebasu’s disappearance.  They’d both been a lot younger at that time, but, here and now, Kenta Inuzuka was not a name that Ginza had been expecting to hear, odd summons or not.

He’d expected a ‘Bored Jounin’ to be just that, some random Jounin in the village who was discontent with the lack of activity the Administration building was putting out, and he studied the man closely, looking over his features for some note of wrongness to them. Ginza was certainly not expecting to find a shinobi with such a rank, and in turn who should be so respected by those currently around him, as the creator of the call to action for genin. And so, he found himself looking for a reason to out this individual as not being who he truly said he was. Especially when considering that the Jūnidaime Hokage had been reported killed in action years ago, after he’d graduated the academy, and during the time that he had been living at the temple. The news had reached them at the temple, leaving them with heavy hearts for quite some time. Ginza might have been living outside of the village, but the politics of the village and what was going on was still something that he had paid attention to.

The Jūnidaime Hokage had been one of the better rulers that Konohagakure had in it’s history, and he’d the time that he had ruled in the history books as a time that had mostly leant itself to prosperity in the country.  Since his time as Hokage in only those few years, there had been the Jūsandaime, Jūyondaime, Jūgodaime, Jūrokudaime, and the now current Jūnanadaime Hokage, Sousetsu Senju, respectfully.  There had been turmoil in those years, even if things at the current date had slowed to a crawl. The twenty-four year old took a deep breath, and pushed away from the tree, no longer leaning against it so casually as the dogs appeared, inwardly fighting the shock that he was feeling. There was absolutely no doubt, that the man was truly Kenta Inuzuka now, while their had been with the simple appearance of his face. Any skilled medical-nin could change their face to look like someone else, but coupled with the dogs... he didn't want to doubt the man. He wanted to trust in him, and in Aisling who seemed entirely sure about the man being who he said that he was, even if there was still a small chance that he wasn't who he said he was.

"Jūnidaime Hokage, welcome home." Ginza greeted the man respectfully, giving his head a slight dip, hoping that what he kept silent about would be well implied; that it was good to see him alive and well. Even if there was a small hint of suspicion in his voice. If this man before them truly was who he said he was, Ginza did have to wonder what he was doing back here, after all these years of being away. Was the administration truly doing that horrifically? Was he going to step in and take his place as Hokage again? Ginza actually found himself hoping that this would be the case in light of how lax things were, though only time would tell. It wasn't his place to ask questions about the inner workings of the village. Not now, when he was only a genin in rank. It was not his place, all would likely be revealed in time.

Ginza glanced at the others as they introduced themselves to the esteemed man, a little surprised at how open they were being about their abilities. The Ninneko girl was more so, specifically voicing that she used Fuuinjutsu and Ninjutsu, and while it was true that Hatako having revealed that he was an Uzumaki was hint enough at his abilities, meaning he probably used Fuuinjutsu as well, but it still left some questions. Did he simply use Fuuinjutsu? What were his other specialties? What were their elements? Being revealing of their abilities as they may, Ginza wasn't quite going to be as revealing as the Ninneko girl was. A shinobi's advantage was stealth and subterfuge after all, and he'd been raised to keep quiet and unrevealing. So his introduction remailed simple, just as it had been when he'd first met Hatako and Aisling, simply his family name and no mention of his clan, not that even if he'd used his clan name many would know it. His clan and its abilities were typically rare, at least in these parts, as they normally hailed from parts of the Wind country, if not Sunagakure. "I am Kaigara, Ginza."

The response to the other shinobi who has been watching them when brought to attention by Kenta seemed a little uncalled for, at least in the form that Hatako gave. He’d seen the man, as he’d looked around when he’d entered the park to make sure he was aware of everyone around, but he hadn’t really thought anything of it. Parks were public areas. Kenta’s observation was reasonable, wanting to know why he was being watched. He supposed he would have wanted to know too if he hadn’t been very open with who he was until now. But Hatako’s response of calling him a pervert? He raised an eyebrow when he heard the Ninneko girl laugh. Did the other genin know the man that was the focus of Kenta’s attention? If they did were their reactions called for? He had to wonder, but right now, even if  they did, that seemed to be a little out of hand if the man was simply observing. If Ginza had been in the same position, not as a genin, he probably would have observed a meeting like this, just the same at the man was doing. All the same he did glance over at the man for a moment, following Kenta’s gaze.

Rippa

Rippa paused in eating his sandwich and almost dropped it as he swore he misheard. Had the person just introduced themselves as one of the fallen Hokage? It couldn't be true. The entire nation had mourned and almost went to war before Hao had been outed to be the source of the assassination. To think that Kenta Inuzuka had simply faded away into the shadows out of their own will and let the village rot over the years was near unthinkable. Here he had been since his return as a genin in battle after battle trying to maintain what ground the country was losing against bandits and missing nin as well as those just out to be cruel. Pain and loss filling his days as he strived to be more and greater than he was now so he could protect more people, and this person had claimed they were someone who was capable of putting a stop to all of it and they had what? Retired until now suddenly? He felt a tinge of a deep anger in his blood as he calmly let out a breath to steady his mood. Even if this wasn't an imposter they likely had their reasons. If it wasn't he had questions but not ones he would demand answers for in front of genin. That was a private conversation for another time.

For now it appeared he was being called out. So his timing hadn't helped him. He had been foolish to assume he could sneak up on an Inuzuka. He had too many potent scents on himself to really manage to hide from that. Not to mention the potential of an actual passed Kage. He wasn't even on a level with Sousetsu yet and if the rumors were true of Kenta, Sousetsu was just a twerp with a sword back then. Still he wa cautious to move in case he was not welcome. He had an advantage up high and away with his talent for sniping and yet he had no urge to pick a fight. least of all with genin and civilians nearby and no one really causing any trouble. At the same time an audible sigh escaped his lips at being called a pervert by one of the lower ranks. A part of him wanted to kneecap the little shit but he was mature enough not to try. Still he did slide his sandwich back into the bag and tied it to a branch away from the big dogs less they cared to jump for it and hopped down. Walking over casually so that he didn't interrupt each students introduction. Listening carefully to the different names and talents as one girl left as soon as they finished. The first to speak was the punk that called him a pervert. Typical Uzumaki having a big mouth. The feline was more open with her abilities and discussed her reasoning for being so. The big one was simply proper though and did little other then introduce himself. Such a silent individual made him a little uneasy and yet Rippa walked passed them stopping between them and the Jounin as they stood just across from each other. The genin would see the sword saints captain imprinted on the back of his red coat as he bowed his head in a normal greeting between equals. Rippa in his coat could easily be known as a sannin in the village these days but he didn't expect the genin to care to learn who the current sannin were. Still he spoke with a smile to Kenta before turning to the genin once his speech addressed them. Never fully turning away from Kenta with a guard about him like a master swordsman might have. Never fully relaxed while appearing to be.

"I was curious about someone with a powerful aura being hooded and attracting genin in the park. A little cloak and dagger draws attention. It wouldn't be the first time even in my time as a shinobi that someone has gathered followers from our ranks. Caution is survival I suppose. As for knowing me I doubt it. I did graduate from the academy during your reign but my father sent me to a secluded study for years in the woods to learn medical ninjutsu as best I could. (Turn to the others) As for being a pervert, it is my duty to keep my eyes on the village and move as needed. A pleasure to meet you other two though. I am Captain Rippa Chi. Do not fret as I will not be interrupting whatever this 'test' is less it get out of hand. If need be I will offer my medical expertise of course."

Kenta Inuzuka

Hmm, an interesting bunch. Uzumaki, complete with attitude; typical, or to a degree anyway. His experience with Uzumaki was that they where either gracious, humble people or absolute entitled little shits; depending on what part of the clan tree they fell off of. This was... struck him as leaning toward the latter, but at the same time he wasn't about to write someone off on a first impression. At least not over that type of first impression.

The feline child, Suki... he hadn't had a huge amount of interaction with her clan, although not from any sort of disdain on his part, for being an Inuzuka he was actually rather fond of cats; what with his husband's cat-like nature and interest in learning the ways of the cat sages... well, the house was going to get rather full of cats, on top of the piles of dogs. He didn't really mind at all, cats where good companions and even better hunters, useful partners if you could convince them you were worthy. Given the Uzumaki was an Uzumaki... this gave them two sealers in this group so far; and likely two ninjutsu users; the male hadn't specified, but the female had, and that was useful to him. He could see himself and Suki getting along rather well; Fuuinjutsu wasn't his style, but he respected the art and he knew some basics about it.

This older male... Ginza. Silent... but not in the way one would expect. There was a cadence, a hiccup and rust to the words spoken... a voluntary mute, maybe? No information given, but a respectful greeting was; and while he wasn't he type to expect things like that, it made him feel good to know that some could still see him in the light to offer even a small token of such. That the blonde was so much older than the others likely helped, Ginza couldn't be much younger than him, and while he didn't remember seeing him in the academy or anything like that, he'd gone through school so fast, been promoted to Hokage soon quickly after... it was very likely they'd never met as more than just a face in a hallway or the like. Given their similar ages and the fact that they'd grown up in the same timeframes... he could see them possible getting along quiet well, Ginza would remember the village much as Kenta himself did, and he would be a valuable source of information in relation to how the village itself had seen his reign; had he been as decent Kage to them? Had his policies and the like been half as effective as he'd hoped they'd been? Things of that nature, his man could help to answer.

As could the other elder male; the blood-smelling one from the Chi clan; it made perfect sense now as to why his scent was as such. Another clan he hadn't had much interactions with; but he knew enough about them to be ready for anything. Captain... ANBU, then? Or was it something else? He'd been hearing about new groups, new specialists... Sword Saints? Something like that. Maybe he was one of them? Maybe they'd changed the ranking within the Medic Corps. Maybe he was an MP. Whatever he was, he was definitely someone to watch. "Rippa, then. You and I should have a little chat sometime. Later, though; I was actually rather looking forward to testing some genin today. I really do mean to find me a student, if only for a day. If you feel as though you need to... how do the kids these days say it..... well, anyway; if you feel the need to bring me in for questioning or whatever, we can do that after I finish here; I'd be rather interested in seeing what sort of actual leadership is left in the village. From what I've seen in the weeks I've been home... it's been pretty heavily lacking. Although, I will give the ANBU some credit for still running, although that is as much for it being Naota that found me first, and that was almost a given with him being my oldest friend and guard; he was going to notice me long before anyone beyond maybe my husband or children would have."

His attention seemed to split for a moment, he was keeping an eye on the Jounin out of habit and curiosity more so anything else, but he wanted to get started with the kids floating around. With Aisling gone, he didn't have anything else drawing his focus away, so it was pretty much time to get started. "So, genin children and no so children; let us begin. This will be a simple test of skill. The objective: scout the wooded area around you and find a single coin. A very special coin. You will know you've found it when you find it; however you only get one shot to do so. There are exactly 12 coins hidden in the forest around here, you won't know which is right until you return. The borders of the area are patrolled by my canines, they will let you know if you've left the designated area. If you return with the wrong coin, or without one at all, well... we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. The only rules are: don't kill each other. Otherwise, do whatever you feel you need to. You have one hour to complete this task. Understood? Good." He'd allowed a pause after 'Understood', so that anyone that felt like they needed to add anything, or ask a question, was able too. Otherwise, he moved back into the shade of the tree he'd marked and settled into a comfortable lean to wait. They were free to start however they wanted, and that was that; at least as far as he was concerned. He didn't hold hands, they had to be independent within the construct of a team or else they'd be left behind. He did however gesture toward Rippa, motioning for the blood-user to join him under the comfortable shade of the tree to watch, and maybe talk, if he wanted.

Chuunin
Jutsu in Training:

Name: Temporary Paralysis Technique (金縛りの術 ~ Kanashibari no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Element: None
Range: One target within 10 meters.
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Temporary Paralysis Technique is a technique that physically restrains an opponent, as if the opponent had been tied in invisible steel ropes. It debilitates the victim for a short period of time by binding their arms to their torso and chaining their legs together, which allows the user to either strike again, or take the target into custody. This jutsu will only work on people who are below your rank (so a Chuunin using this jutsu could not use it on another Chuunin, but could do so against a Genin). The user of this technique must either state the name of the ability aloud or as form a string of hand seals (Monkey → Horse → Dragon → Tiger → Ox → Rat → Snake). The air around the target will be disturbed very slightly as the "chains" move into place, giving the victim a chance to dodge the technique. This technique can be overpowered with raw physical strength: an individual with C-0 strength can force themselves free, breaking the ability. (Those with D-3 strength can also do so, but it takes a few moments to do so.)

After the completion of her previous missions, Shihai had a day off, but her older brother is currently using the family room to host some kind of blaming game with the fellow members of his squad. (Not a really blame game, but a mission strategy review after a mission of his went south) She didn't technically got kicked out of the house (not in so many words anyway), but it was getting really weird for her to stay in the house. Not only was the family room downstairs being filled by people in masks that she didn't know. And she is pretty sure that she didn't know any of them, given that she didn't recognized any of the voices. But that it was so obvious that they were discussing something really serious and heavy, even if it were all disguised with codes, the grim, the coldness and the anger barely repressed still managed to leak out of their tones, conveying their current state of emotions out and clear to the rest of the room.

And that was another thing that really bugs here, dafaq is wrong with those people. If they really want to have a mission review, or a strategy mission, you know, whatever it was called those days, whatever to your fancy anyway. Why couldn't they do it in a conference room?! Just because Shihai was a new Genin doesn't mean that she was missing the basics! In fact, once when she was turning a mission of hers, (granted it was a C level mission) she went right pass by a conference room and it was empty. They could have totally used that one, not to mention there were a whole bunch of empty rooms around in the mission buildings, why stay here?!

But it was not like she could have voice her complaints out lout or anything, since each of her brother's comrades clearly out ranked her and there was no way for her to kick them out, she tried another approached. They say that if you can't fight them, you can try to join them, so Shihai got a nice chocolate cake from the fridge and went over to the mysterious people in mask sitting by the table. She had hoped that the cake would lighten the mood around here so it wasn't so deadly, and who knows, maybe she could get a teacher from among them and finally learn some real usual Jutsu!

She learned that hopes are for children only.

As soon as she get near them, all of the people around the table stopped talking all at once. No one was looking at her particularly, but she can feel the glare on her, as if the masks can someone shot deadly glare at her while not even looking at her.

Silently, Shihai sits down by the table and quietly slide the cake across the table to the middle, she had hoped that the cake would change the mood and let her join the conversation too. (even if it was probably confidential and therefore the need for coding. <-but if it was such sensitive matter, go to the mission building and let me have the couch and the TV!)

The cake did not work, in fact, she could say that it makes it worst. Before it was just silent, now there was silent and bond chilling spikes of feeling running across her body, like lighting strikes, as if someone was thinking of taking a whack at her.

She stood up quickly and get out of the house, clearly some people just not born to enjoy the sweet that is pitiful for them!

Sighing, and that is how Shihai found herself on top of this branch on the tree, trying very hard to turn herself in a shadow and hide herself along the shades of the tree.

In a little distance away, there are a group of people discussing something, but they were far away and she couldn't hear what they were saying too clearly, just know that there are some kind of tests going on.

Even so, she was here trying to learn this new Jutsu from a book that she "borrowed" from her brother, and she wasn't really bothering anyone, so she figures that she can stay here and watch the result of the test. They were an odd mix of a group of people, they were of different age, and one of them was a cat! Must be one of the famous ninja cat clan. Shihai nodded to herself, she wonders who will win the test. Still trying very hard to make herself a shadow, Shihai stands on top of this branch and watches the test unfold from afar.

READ THIS EVERYONE:
Okay, so because of the sheer number of us in here, I'm going to go ahead and ask that everyone stick to a posting timeframe. I know they suck, but this is a big thread, and a good chance for everyone to get a fuckton of training and such done, as well as a social thread for the Genin; so let's just bite the bullet and do it. Form here on, let's keep it to 72 hours max (three days) before you're skipped. Kris, I know you're nearly done, as soon as you post this is going to kick in. If anyone can't handle posting once out of every three days, then you need to please exit the thread.

Genin
It was always awkward when Hatako tried to be humorous--because he knew he wasn't always good at it, nor were his jokes always lighthearted. When he had referred to the man in the distance as a pervert, he had realized that he'd been a bit inappropriate after the words left his mouth. Nervous, he anxiously yearned for someone to at least giggle so that he didn't feel as bad. Just as soon as it seemed that no one found what he said funny, the feline shinobi began to giggle--reaffirming Hatako's faith in his humor.

Soon after he had given his introduction, and made his rather bad joke, the feline shinobi quickly followed him in introducing herself. As she spoke, Hatako gazed upon her in amazement that he was witnessing a cat talking--he had never seen it before.

"Umm… not entirely sure what to say about myself. “What will the test be” anything else I can think of would be stupid to ask, so I’ll simply have to draw conclusions based on what I can observe."

At first the feline, now known as "Suki", didn't seem to know what she wanted to say. However, she openly stated that she was from the famous Ninneko clan and that she was specialized in the arts of fuuinjutsu and ninjutsu. Upon hearing this, Hatako was bit surprised seeing as those were his exact specialities as well--and he was interested to find out how they'd both fair when compared to one another. Yet, she must have somewhat thought that too when she mentioned that Hatako had simply revealed his own abilities by only mentioning he was an Uzumaki--which she was right to an extent. However, he had made sure to leave enough mystery about him so that no one would have too much of an edge on him should the test be combat-based.

"So a fuuinjutus and ninjutsu specialist? That's interesting seeing as that we both are very similar in that respect. She was right in that I gave part of myself away when claiming the Uzumaki name...but I still have some mysteriousness about me. Though, she may be right in saying we need to work as a team--and if that should be the case, then having diverse skin less may be what we actually are wanting to see here." the Uzumaki thought to himself, as slowly began to shift his gaze into "open space" as his eyes wondered above Suki's head.

As his thoughts and vision began stray and lose their focus, Hatako thought of nothing but the fact that today had been quite different from most. He hadn't expected to meet some mysterious man, who turned out to be one of the past Hokages, nor did he expect meet so many new faces. He had always liked having routine be a part of his day, as he felt as if that were one of the only times he has control in his life, but today was exceptionally alright with him. This was, in fact, a good outlier.

Having been lost in thought for a very good while, Hatako suddenly was brought back to reality when he heard Ginza state his name to the Inuzuka. Although he was sure that Ginza had said something else to the man, he wasn't quite sure what that was. Looking around, Hatako also noticed that the little girl that had "attacked" the Inuzuka was also gone--no sign of her presence anywhere.

"Ginza never seems to want to talk too much. I wonder why that--"

Suddenly, the man that Hatako had called a pervert appeared before them--walking between them and the Inuzuka. For a moment, Hatako thought that maybe the man had heard what he said and had come over to confront him over the comment. However, he began to address the Inuzuka first--so Hatako listened in.

So...Captain Rippa--shit. Not only did the man hear Hatako call him a pervert, but the man was also a highly ranked individual within the ranks of shinobi. Suddenly, upon hearing and realizing this, Hatako's face turned red and his eyebrows curled as he made a face that was painted with embarrassment. Surely, he had made a very horrible mistake in calling the man a pervert.

However, before he could move to speak and apologize to Captain Rippa, Kenta would begin to speak and address them (after having addressed Rippa). Moving the want to apologize to the back of his mind, Hatako listened in on what the Inuzuka had to say.

Understood? Good."

So, there was going to be a test--however, it seemed like a simple one. Although, Hatako had learned that even complicated could disguise itself as simple--and therefore going into this test without much thought would be a huge mistake. Seeing as there were twelve coins hidden throughout the forest around them--and only one was the "right, special coin". With that in mind, it would more than likely be better to work as a team than try to compete against one another--especially seeing as they had only an hour to complete the test.

Turning to his comrades, Hatako simply said the first thing that came to him mind.

"So, it's probably best we're honest with each other in regards to our capabilities and we solve this task as a team. Seeing as we only have an hour, and there is only one coin--it'd be pointless to try to compete against one another and waste precious time on 'fighting'. Thoughts?" asked the Uzumaki, which much determination and leadership resonating in his voice.

Genin
It wasn't long before the pink haired female who had introduced herself as Aisling had departed. Though she hated to admit it, so many people all In su a confined place made her a bit nervous. This wasn't exactly surprising, perhaps considering that everyone herein especially the 6 and a half foot giant. She didn't know how to deal with being towered over to such a huge extent. It was rather ridiculous when one truly stopped to think about it. Sure all humans dwarfed her by a ridiculous margin, but really? Really? A 4 and a half foot height differential? Granted that was only when she was on all fours. But still… humans still dwarfed herb even when she was on 2 legs. Oh well. It wasn't but a short bit Until said giant introduced himself as Ginza. He didn't say much though aside from greeting the former Hokage. Which was all fine we'll and good.

Just after that, the person in hiding, though she confessed she hadn't been looking at him, so hadn't known exactly where he was until he came forward. But he did have a lot to say, and very little if any of it was just small talk. No greetings etc. He got straight to the point. But that was reasonable considering he had just been called a pervert. Even if he hadn't, it would still have been very reasonable for him to be straightforward. It was even surprising when he mentioned his rank. That said, he didn't outright say it. But Suki had a hard time imagining a captain below special jounin rank, more likely jounin. He seemed to carry the stereotypical seriousness and the like one expected from a jounin. There was the stereotype that jounin had been through war and all manner of things and are as a consequence more serious and darker. That said, Suki didn't quite believe all jounin could possibly be like that. Regardless, she was reassured to have someone with medical skulls on hand.

The test, the test! Kenya spoke the rules and Suki drank them in. Her mind whirring. One could almost hear the dogs turning in her head. 12 coins… And no clue as to which of the coins was the one he sought. 12 coins… And no information on how they were hidden, none at all. All that was left perhaps was to try and find as many g
Coins as she could, and hope to find the right one. On the surface, it was a hard task. No real information but the rules. She had to find the right coins… or did she… the rest seemed hard… But she couldn't imagine it was nearly as simple as she imagined. Surely there was some trick? But at the same time… this was a test for genin, not a test in the chuunin exam, where One was expected to be at roughly chuunin level. But… but… A ninja must see through deception. Was there anything else was there? Perhaps one solution was to group up with someone. They could present all coins gathered as shared between them? That was an idea. She’d rather have half the right coin than none. Besides… tests usually have a goal, some lesson to teach… But then again, not always. Some were just tests. On that note… Perhaps the test had already started. Perhaps their answers and greetings had been a part of it.

Suki hesitated just after he ended his speech, giving the rules just long enough for Hatako to start to speak. It was a reasonable and wise decision. And a smart one. Kaiya smiled and listened. He had a fair point, and Suki’s thoughts were already going down that path. It did make sense, and a great deal of sense. As she's already admired to herself. She'd rather share a win or the than outright loose. Though this wasn't about winning or losing. She wanted a teacher. She wanted someone to help her on her way to becoming a true shinobi. Ninja of the same village were trained to work as a team. That's why there were squads when it came to many missions. One who refused to work for the good of the team was unworthy of being a konohagakure ninja. So Suki gave him a covert thumbs up, holding it close to her body, a nod, and a wink. Three simple signs to show she agreed. But that was all he had given before she bolted into the forest to start looking. While she was planning to work as a team with Hatako, she doubted everyone would. Many were more arrogant, or simply lingers. She hadn't Even waited for Hatako to finished before signalling him. She got the gist of it and heard the rest as she moved. Perhaps he might think it impolite for her to agree and then bolt before he even finished. However… Kenya had said “You have one hour” not “You will have one hour”and the a sense of that one word meant the test started right away. And she wanted to find as many coins as she could before those who would not work as a team.

Red Dot = Where Kenta Is | Silver/Blue Dots = The Regular Coins | Gold Dot = The Gold Coin

Three specific coin locations:

  • The coin closest to Kenta is in the tree above his head.
  • The coin on the wooden bride to the left side is UNDER the bridge.
  • The gold coin is up in a tree, surrounded by other trees.

Ginza watched as the white haired man tied his bag of food up onto the tree branch that he was in, following his casual movements as he moved over to him. He'd probably tied it up there so that the dogs wouldn't go for it, given how their sense of smell worked, but all the same it seemed to be a little superfluous. But, the man certainly seemed comfortable around where they were, so that meant that malicious intent probably hadn't been his aim. Another reason why Hatako's words had seemed out of turn then. His gaze moved from the man to Kenta again, studying the two of them as  Rippa introduced himself. A fellow medical shinobi, and captain? Ah, the mark on Rippa's coat. Captain of the famed Sword Saints then. Medical and Kenjutsu, and Chi then meant blood. What a fascinating superior shinobi. That would make him at the very least likely to be a Jounin. Ginza noted all this down as he studied the man, intelligence could be one's best weapons, so he kept a note of such things whenever he met someone, while attempting to keep everything about himself under wraps.  Not that, he assumed that this man was an enemy, but intelligence was his thing, gather and store was what he did, and Kenta's request for a conversation with him was certainly well founded. If Kenta was back to make the village's... lax administration of late better than he was curious what would happen.

But soon the conversation was turning back to the task at hand and Ginza couldn't help but lift one of his eyebrows as it was described. Twelve coins with one special one that needed to be found. That was... almost too easy. At least for him, and he studied Kenta for a moment while allowing the other two to react to what the test was first. Their reactions would decide how he would go about things. Hatako seemed to think that they should work together. While that was a good plan, considering his own abilities, it was something that would make the test rather unfair of the younger two genin, and that wasn't something that he wanted to cause. Kenta's test was purposeful, and he was not going to be the one to ruin that in one fell swoop. The comradery that was the focus of the tests like this was important. He studied Hatako then looked down at Suki as she signed to Hatako then bolted away in search of the coins before he could give his reply.

Well, that was unexpected, and he already knew that his reply would be received as if he were being aloof and cold hearted even if that was not his intention when given to one person. He sighed and brushed a strand of his hair as he looked at the younger genin.  "Forgive me, Hatako, but I will not be participating in this test with the two of you." He murmured, before taking a step back and situating himself next to the tree that he had leaned against before closing his eyes and lifting his arms up, palms flat and facing outwards. At the very least he was going to find the coins he supposed.

It took him just a moment, but he focused his chakra around himself, forming it into a bubble before letting it flow outwards away from himself. This would allow himself to pinpoint where this special coin was. It was interesting, as his bubble passed by Kenta and Rippa, Kenta seemed to have a fair number more weapons, at least metal ones. Curious. Drifting from them was then Hatako... who is bubble passed and he got no information from. He actually seemed to actually have none on him. For a shinobi that... could be considerably damning. At least the Ninneko girl seemed to have weapons on her as there were some in the direction that she had gone. And there was... one more set of weapons that he could sense, up in a tree.. Not one of those who had interacted with them yet. His gaze moved up to the tree, eyes narrowed as he spotted a girl who seemed to be observing them and attempting rather hard to do something else.

But he let his focus turn away from the girl up in the tree to the coins again. Coins were much smaller than the typical weapons that he normally used this jutsu for, but shurikin were small enough, so coins weren't reaching past his own abilities. There were several coins in the area... from what he could tell, silver mostly with a mix of some other metals. Some in the direction that the Ninneko girl had wandered off to search in, though the one that amused him and gathered a smile to the face was the coin that was positioned above Kenta in the very tree that he was under. And it was silver. A soft chuckle escaped him before turning his attention to the other information that he was given. There was one in a pond... and ah. One in a tree that was considerably different in materials. This was the special coin then, one that was predominantly gold.

Dropping his hands he looked over to Kenta, and gave a small bow with his head. "Jūnidaime Hokage, thank you for your invitation. But I must decline participating in this test as it would be unfair to the others. I know where the coin is that they must find, and it would be unfair to them if I were to go snatch it up. I would like to remain to watch, however."

Type: Supplementary
Element:  Jiton
Range: Varies by rank. ( See below )
Specialty: Kansen-Suru KKG
Duration: Maintainable ( -10 per post )
Cooldown: 5  posts
Description: This is a technique that allows members of the Kansen-suru clan members to keep track of  what metals are in the area and where they are, including the general shape, size of them.  This can be helpful to pick out enemies and their weapons. Users of this technique reach out with their hands to their sides and form a bubble of their Jiton chakra in the form of a magnetic field around themselves  before sending it outwards. They then get any information it encounters sent back to them in a way similar to how radar works. When the bubble reaches its max distance, or if the clan member disperses the jutsu, the magnetic field will simply disappear.

Rippa

Rippa listened to each of them speak in turn. First was Kenta whom had a few words for him about leadership and turning him in. At that Rippa almost scoffed but instead shook his head as he turned back to Kenta. He wasn't confident the man was who he claimed yet but the only way he was taking in someone that powerful was if they were willing. Well if they and their pets were willing anyway. He may have had a chance if he had stayed at the maximum range of his bows and taken down Kenta and hopefully one of the two dogs before he was located. Or at least both dogs. Sniping had it's privledges but once a sniper was located his effectiveness was cut in half. Nor had he mastered jutsu through his sniping yet so he was stuck with basic attacks. Those worked perfectly on his average enemy but against a Kage or even a fallen one? He doubted it. Nor was he eager to turn that legendary family against the village anyway. He had met Amaya and Naota was a famous man. He wasn't familiar with any family beyond that but he was sure there were plenty. If Amaya and Naota were any indication any hostilities towards Kenta were a bad plan for the village as a whole. He was a wise enough leader to know that. For now it would be best if Kenta was allowed to move freely. His own curiosity would bring him before the council in time. Not that Rippa was a fan of them anyway.

Still he moved over to the tree and removed his weapons on his hip. Adam and Eve were perhaps two of the most unique swords in Konoha and just as dangerous as almost any other. They were fully capable of close and long range combat, one had to block a two sword style from cutting them while keeping either swords from pointing the tips at them at any point. If the tips were pointed at them a bolt named prayer could be fired at immense speeds and do considerable damage. Still he layed them side by side next to him with their insignia up as he sat cross legged on the ground and observed as Kenta addressed her students. A simple enough task but still something fitting for genin. However anyone with raiton probably had an advantage if they understood how electricity was attracted to water and metal more than anything else in the area. He supposed any weapons would of been a distraction depending on the technique. However the coin being in the lake would of made the point of that null and void. For most raiton users.

He would rest there and watch with sky blue eyes as the three reacted differently to the test uninterested in a girl so far away struggling to use a basic ninjutsu. With Kenta so nearby he could barely feel the three genin through the chakra pressure yet alone someone barely using any so far away. Still they seemed to assume this test was to unify them somehow. Rippa wasn't so sure. To a sensei personality was just as important to take into consideration as the capabilities of another. The lad that had called him a pervert seemed eager to lead. Offering they work as a team to make the test simpler. Not a very competitive one but still if he was capable of convincing others to follow him it was a quality which could benifit him in the future. Even if he was manipulating them into finding the coin for him and taking it from them it was still a tactic if a underhanded one. Sometimes though a tactic that worked required temporarily sacrificing morals for the greater good. Either that or he was still naive to trust so soon and one day that would bite him. Hopefully he survived it.

The feline was quick to agree and bolt off in a direction before the others had even formed a strategem. eagerness in the field would serve her well enough at early ranks so long as she stayed within her rank. However she would need to learn that working as a team would mean planning together. She would work well if she allowed herself to be led instead of simply bursting off with no plan. Even if speed was the key to an objective it was important to communicate. He could only hope she could learn that before it cost her or a team member their life. Coming back from leading someone to their death through your own foolishness was a hard thing. Something too difficult for a young individual like her to have to learn to early.

Lastly his blue eyes snapped to the big one as his own chakra raiton nature sparked a dark crimson as a chakra signature passed by him. Raiton reacting to some advanced form of itself it seemed. No, that wasn't it.....he felt it being pulled towards something feeling about. What could pull raiton that wasn't raiton? He had never met a magnet user before so it was a new sensation for him and he would have to inquire about it later. Still his eyebrows rose as the big one made an impressive claim to have almost instantly discovered the location of the object in question. An impressive claim and ability if it was true. It was polite of him to remove himself so the others had a chance even if he refused to work with them as a team. It felt like the young man was hiding something but Rippa wasn't sure what. Some were just quiet but Ginza made him feel unease in multiple ways. Somehow he was highly capable and had the feel of an experienced combatant. However he too was flawed as he too lacked the willingness to communicate with others. Perhaps he felt he was superior to them or he just was a quiet individual but if ever he was a member of a squad, they should only rely on him to complete tasks for himself. He wasn't positive Ginza would risk himself to save a team mate yet. He felt cold to Rippa even if that wasn't his intention. Still Rippa would wait for Kenta to reply to Ginza before speaking himself. His eyes watching the other two now to see what tactic they would use.

"I won't be taking you in. It's a day off I desperately need but I would be remiss if I didn't file a report. Knowing that I advise you to speak to them in your own time soon. I don't think the council always thinks things through and they are just as liable to send a standing force to bring you in at your home as they are to simply request your presence. I would advise them the latter since I don't want a warzone to erupt in Konoha and their standing force to get wiped out but again, I doubt they would think it through. For now I am going to simply relax. I am curious though Kenta-Sama, what do you think of this lot? Do you think the big ones claim is founded? If so why not win the contest?"

(OOC: and that's the game, there're only 2 participants left. FYI I do apologize, because I joined late, I might need to stick around for a bit longer to get the requirement.)

Since she was starting to pay attention at what was happening around here in this park, she started to pick up bits and pieces of the conversation and finally got a sense of what was going on! Apparently it was test of some kind! But for what purpose it was still a mystery to her, but one thing was clear, the participants need to find some kind of coin (apparently even without knowing what the coin would look like, one would know that it was the right coin once them find it.) Also, consequently, she picked up a few names from the bits and pieces of conversation , but it would take a few more times for the name and faces to match correctly.

The Genin looking Ninjas were gathering around and looked to be trying to come up with a plan or some kind, but it only lasted for a few brief moments before the race was on! The kitty cat looking Ninja was off into the race and was dashing off, Shihai's gaze following her as she silently cheering her on, (the leopard cat looking Ninja was somehow reminding her of her own Ninja cat) that's when the corner of her vision caught something shiny and reflecting golden light under the sunlight in between the leaves on the branch. Shihai blinks a few times and quickly went out to look at it, getting a closer look she could see that it was a golden coin, hidden amongest the leaves and half inserted into the branch below. Taking in a gasp of surprise, Shihai looks around trying to locate the other Genins and tell them that this is where the coin is, the only other remaining Genin was still somewhat far away and was facing away from her when she looked, maybe he hadn't taken a notice?

Going back and forth on the branch as she considers what to do, and it was really hard to resist the urge to kick this coin down to the ground so it could be easier to see.  This is a test after all, if the students were to receive outside help, it would have defeated the purpose of the test. Shihai nodded to herself, now that she was here, apparently the best course of action would be get as far away from this branch as she can possibly get before anyone notice her! Left hand forming hand seals in a flow of motions, she activated a standard Ninjutsu in a blink of the eyes.

[Ninja Art: Body Flicker]

In a twist of shadows, the image of Shihai disappeared from a top of the branch and reappeared in mid air at some distance away, traveling across the field by the top of the trees, putting up some distance between her and the ops I didn't mean to do that golden coin. She stopped on a tree near the edge of the park, where there are two older looking Ninja who were just there having a causal conservation of some kind, not even appearing slightly concerned or rushed for the coin. Shihai tilled her head to the side at that, and dropped down somewhat. She asked hesitantly.

"You guys. Aren't you going to go after the coin? The others have already started, if you don't hurry, they are going to find it before you do though, and that is ok?" She asked the two other Ninjas in confusion.

Note:
Shihai, please stick to posting order. You jumped ahead of me. Current posting order is:

Me
Shihai
Kriss
Suki
Ginza
Rippa

Please stick with this, for the sake of keeping things from getting more confusing. If someone leaves, then stick to the order as best you can. Shihai, you'll need to wait until after everyone else's posted before your turn comes around again.

Also, Shihai, for future reference, you need to have the spoiler with your jutsu and chakra in it at the bottom of your post every time you use a jutsu.

Oh, so Ginza was tapping out? Huh, that was... odd. But given his explanation, it was understandable. He was a little disappointed though, he was actually kind of interested in seeing what the male was capable of, but hell, he could grab the kid later on and see what he had hidden. Likely some sort of extrasensory ability that would make finding the coins a breeze. Not the point of the test, and something told him that the male had figured that part out as well, and that was the main factor for why he was stepping out. Well then.

The cat-child, he didn't know what to think about her, really. He had zero issues with her as a cat, but he also didn't know anything about her people beyond the basics that everyone knew, so he didn't know how to handle her properly. She was as intelligent as a human, which meant that the connection of the animals that most Inuzuka had with other species wouldn't work the same way, and given his own troubles working with 'normal' humans in general, that made things a bit... well, he didn't know how to quantify it yet. But she seemed ready and willing to work and test, and that was all that mattered for the moment. If she was able to overcome the feline tendency to be loners, the she'd do well in this; and could possibly handle being his student. Opening minded dog, yep.

Uzumaki trying to be a leader, that was somewhat expected from what he knew of the clan and their general attitudes. There was this thing within their bloodline about spawning leaders; both effective and not so much. Where this one fell was up in the air still, but he wasn't going to fault the kid for trying. So long as they where able to work together, even if one was trying to be a leader when it wasn't necessarily needed. But, well, if it worked, it worked; and even mini-leaders could be useful.

Ah, the laziness of the upper ranks, he knew it well. Hell, he was part of it. Day off meant day off, unless the village was being invaded or burned to the ground, you didn't bother him on a day off.  He could respect his reasonings for not bringing him in, and the fair warning about what the 'leadership' would do when his report was turned in was appreciated. Highly so. He completely agreed with the given situation as well, so if anything it just confirmed that his soon to be implemented plans where going to work right. "No worries, I planned on doing something with them eventually. Been more worried about making sure my kids where okay and I was healthy enough to deal with them without just drowning them because I felt like too many kinds of horse shit to actually deal with stupidity. The Elder Council and I are already on shit terms after the crap they pulled with my kids, so I only deal with them when I'm not feeling like shit, or so drunk I don't remember the meeting the next day. Hell, I'd be pretty pissed if you didn't do a report on finding me; dereliction of duty is a pretty shit way to get yourself removed from rank and status."

So what was this other kid doing? Like, seriously. Was she testing? Was she just bein-... did she just... was that body flicker? The hell was this kid using that for? Just to move across the park? Seriously, there was no reason for that. Weird. Why was this one asking stupid questions, at that. I mean really, if she was talking to him and Rippa, then they where literally being stupid. It was pretty damn obvious that he was giving the test, and there was no way to mistake Rippa for being a Genin, he exuded power just as much as Kenta did; neither of them was trying to hide their passive auras of power, nor where they projecting it outright; there was just a passive feeling of power that washed from Jounin and stronger ninja. "So, can I help you, kid? You're late for testing, and you're asking... really stupid questions. I mean, everyone's that's not testing has said so, and if you're talking to me and Rippa, then you're basically asking the test proctor and the Captain of the Sword Saints why they aren't hunting coins that they could find before you could blink. Whats your story, eh?"
