To be Modded
Approved missions will be placed here: [x]

I'm aware the thread linked above is currently crowded with non-approved missions. As Bokuden requested, this separate thread was made for missions in need of modding, and as such they will gradually be moved from and to the thread. I've been working on quite a few missions with the idea to app more stealth/chaos oriented missions while dropping the need for death and destruction.

Riot! (Village Version):

Mission name: Riot! (Village Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective: Take control of a riot!
Location: Any region within the Village or a location with a town.
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)

Mission description:
Some cur has incited the local people to rise up against their local leader and band together in a riot. While most are merely shouting in anger with raised fists, some are actually causing destruction to nearby buildings by throwing stones and smashing windows. While it is not your job to apprehend those brigands, your 'creative' mind is needed to disperse the crowd and mitigate the damage.

The problem starts here: the crowd can't be persuaded with words of any form, and its hard to spot the leader at this point in the riot. Charm, intimidation, logic, diplomacy... a riled up crowd has no ears for reason of any kind. Worse even, push it too hard, and you'll be pelted with stones and sticks as well. Killing civilians is naturally out of the question, and lethal damage may be considered just as bad.

Perhaps a little bit of controlled chaos might do it?

Mission details:
The riot is located in your Hidden Village or a town nearby of your choice.

While conflicts with infiltrating shinobi are a possibility, your main concern is to disperse the crowd and report back with information. Engaging infiltrators with death as a result will result in a failure of your mission as you can't possibly devout your time on such a powerful opponent and a raging crowd at the same time. You naturally fail the mission when the riot gets out of hand and results in severe damage to the village or ends with heavy casualties and death counts.

Riot! (Crime Version):

Mission name: Riot! (Crime Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective: Take control of a riot!
Location: Any region within the Village or a location with a town.
Reward: 500 + 250 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 50 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +1000 wc)

Mission description:
Thanks to meticulous preparations, the people have been riled up against the local village elder. They have gathered at the town square, sticks, stones and pitchforks at the ready and have seemingly fallen into a passive blockade filled with complainant muttering. All they need now is a little push in the right direction to allow it to escalate into an angry mob...

To get this done, you'll need to check two big boxes for a successful mission:

  • Firstly, you'll need to fuel the fire and turn a group of people itching to cause havoc into an actual rioting mob. Push them over the limit and let the wave of fury roll over the village! Show the example, be the paragon of chaos, the first one to throw the stone, it matters not how you get it done... it matters that you get it done.

  • Secondly, assuming local authorities will try to step in, you might have to push the buttons and force the rioting mob to spiral completely out of control. Raised fists are one thing, but impending destruction under your guidance? That's where it's at.

Mission details:
You naturally fail the mission when the riot is subdued without inflicting apprehensive damage. if you are identified as being the fire starter or your identity is otherwise known, you fail the mission as well as local authorities will simply track you down (now, or with time).
If you engage enemy shinobi and are forced to rely on brute force and death, you failed the mission just as much on the account of being an assassin/murderer rather than an agent of chaos and discord. Restrict them, bind them, blind them, but do not maim or kill them as that gives them a reason for vindictive retribution.

Phantom of the Opera (Village/Repeatable):

Mission name: Phantom of the Opera (Village/Repeatable)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)
Mission Description:
There's been a nocturnal artist on the prowl within the Village, painting on the walls of the kage's building, our monuments and the graves of our fallen. So much as everything of sentimental or moral value has become the canvas of his artistic creativity. What's worse is, the messages of concerning propaganda is gaining influence as it upsets the citizens and even lured a handful of them to join illicit activities in the slums.

As an agent of discord yourself, you know the creative twists of the mind that doesn't abide by calcified logic and imposed regulations. Exactly for that reason you've been asked to undertake this mission, which will count two parts:

  • First, you'll need to find him. So far, no one has been able to spot him.
  • Should you succeed in spotting him, your mission is 'simply' to tail him. Remain unseen and undiscovered while you shadow him to his lair or to his patron, if he has one. After that, return and provide us the information.

Mission Details:
You fail the mission when you have been discovered or feel the need to play 'the hero' and try to catch, maim or kill him. Your only duty is shadowing and espionage to provide any and all information of use.

Name: "Phantom"
Age: ???
General Appearance: Dressed for the night, this person wears dark colours that allow him/her to blend in perfectly with his nightly environment, bestowing a -1 perception upon those tailing him/her.
Personality: Shady. Quiet. Professional.
Goals: Spread propaganda and graffiti without being seen.
Abilities:
- A rank Fuuton, A rank Doton
- A rank Genjutsu, A rank ninjutsu.
He makes use of genjutsu & ninjutsu to remain invisible, cloaked and unidentifiable, while ninjutsu will additionally provide him with all utility needed to succeed at his missions. The shadow WILL make use of various sensory jutsu to be sure he is not followed or tracked. If suspicion of being tracked rises, he WILL increase the use of these jutsu.
Items:
- Painting/Graffiti tools.

Phantom of the Opera (Crime/Repeatable):

Mission name: Phantom of the Opera (Crime/Repeatable)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 + 250 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 50 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +1000 wc)
Mission Description:
Your patron is a collector of cultural art - statues, musical instruments, masquerade costumes, paintings, trinkets, relics, weapons and armour of past dynasties. He is willing to pay big for an intricate item of exceptional rarity or great artistic/cultural value. If only he had someone that was willing to sell it to him... Like you.

Naturally, such collector pieces don't grow on trees and are generally not carried on the person. Nope. They are kept safe... at home. Sure, other collectors generally have a set of traps, alarms, guard dogs and what-nots, but at least those are a much 'easier' place to break in than the local bank that's heavily guarded by shinobi. So that's where you'll find your next sweep.

You better come prepared for this kind of mission...

Mission Details:
You fail the mission if you are identified, captured or simply fail to bring your patron his requested collector's item. If you kill or destroy any of your obstacles, you're no longer a business opportunity - meaning, the deal's off. And don't try to sell him a fake copy either, he knows that sort of items better than you do.

There are few key obstacles to pass:

  • Walls: If climbing over them was that easy, they wouldn't be in this list. Touch them, and you get shocked. You get shocked, your intrusion is detected. You are detected, you fail the mission.
  • Guard dog: There's only one and her name is, "Precious Lullaby". She may be old and a little tone deaf, but she remains a dog with a sharp nose for the stench of thievery. Between sniff and bark, you have two seconds. If she barks, the house is alarmed. If she bites, you'll bleed for the next 5 posts.
  • Guards: Three of them. One outside, two inside the house. They have B rank stats, B rank stun batons and B rank ninjutsu, B rank element of choice. They make use of sensory and trapping jutsu.
  • Alarm: A general name for various ways: bright light spotting you, barking dog, shouting commands, calling in reinforcements, your friendly neighbourhood siren...
  • Safe: Good quality, good lock. Your price waits inside. Hopefully you brought something to open it. Don't make any noise now.

Thug Life (Village Version):

Mission name: Thug Life (Village Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 25 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +2000 wc)
Mission Description:
There's been a real plague of crimes lately, and it seems whoever's behind the scenes is one step ahead of us every time. While other shinobi are taking on the position of a body guard or that of a crime hunter, yours is more subtle. You'll need a perfect disguise to remain unnoticed, but you'll also need to talk the talk and walk the walk for this mission - meaning, if you're not ready to become part of the slums, you're already out.

That's where your missions starts. We need you to infiltrate. Your quick mind needs to pick up the slang, and the local cant. You'll have to become 'one of them' to the point even our men might confuse you for a gang member. While, yes, this gives you the rights to break someone's nose, killing remains forbidden - you are here to infiltrate, not to add to crime.

You'll probably be asked to conduct some unsavoury business. Do them if you must, but take note of who, what, why, where and how much. All information concerning illegal trafficking of any kind is information we need. Eventually, you'll be able to sketch out what the gang is truly about, its hierarchy, the bosses, the people, their philosophy.

But most importantly... you'll be able to find the mole on our side.

Mission Details:
Since this is a long-term mission rather than a short walk in the park, and no real dangerous combat is supposed to happen, the writer is free to write the mission out as he feels like.

You fail the mission when you are sniffed out or identified. If you kill, you're pulled back from the mission for not being able to 'handle the stress', thus failing the mission, and if you get killed... well, it's game over.

Thug Life (Crime Version):

Mission name: Thug Life (Crime Version)
Mission rank: B
Objective:
Location: Village
Reward: 500 + 250 Ryo, minimum 2500 words
+ 50 per 100 extra words (max: +500 ryo for +1000 wc)
Mission Description:

I've been working on quite a few missions with the idea to app more stealth/chaos oriented missions while dropping the need for death and destruction.

Street Artistry (Village/Repeatable):

Mission name: Street Artistry (Village Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Paint + Prankster = Party!
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 150 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +600 wc)

Mission description:
Your aim is to deliver a message to the populace in an artistic and colourful way.

Mission details:
The kage or local village elder wants you to spruce up the dreary walls of a lone house, a personal park or the market place. You'll be working your artistic inspiration upon these walls within a controlled environment. The catch? You'll be training your ninja arts while doing so. You may not be spotted while restyling the wall - stealth, misdirection and diversions of passing patrols and villagers will be a must to succeed.

Street Artistry (Crime/Repeatable):

Mission name: Street Artistry (Crime Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Paint + Prankster = Party!
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 150 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +300 wc) + 75

Mission description:
Your aim is to deliver a message to the populace in a artistic and colourful way.

Mission details:
The local gang lord is in for some 'territory marking' and has hired you to be his pawn. You're to decorate the area by working your art in various places. Small pictures will do, but the local guards need to know you haven't been sitting still so a minimum of three areas must have tasted your creativity.

You fail the mission when you've been recognised (in this case, they'll just keep an eye out for you and track you down in time) or caught (busted!) and will have to clean up all of your 'dirty graffiti' with a bucket of water and a brush as punishment.

Be a distraction (Village/Repeatable):

Mission name: Be a distraction (Village Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: You're to help a colleague during his act as a distraction.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 150 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +600 wc)

Mission description:
Your colleague needs to put back an item he 'borrowed' and you're to help him. You'll serve as a distraction so that he/she can slip in and finish his part of the job.

Mission details:
Your ally stole the next genin exam questions or something else of certain worth that won't get him killed exactly. It'll only be a severe punishment, really. Feeling guilty or having finished 'whatever he had to do' with said item, he or she realises his skills may not be up to par to return the item unseen in the current situation. So you, as a 'good friend' and shinobi will be accomplice and distract whoever's preventing your ally from returning a borrowed object.

You fail the mission when your ally's been spotted or when you simply fail to distract properly, in which both of you will get a severe scolding and a punishment befitting your bratty behaviour.

Be a distraction (Crime/Repeatable):

Mission name: Be a distraction (Crime Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: You're to help a colleague during his act as a distraction.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 150 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +300 wc) + 75

Mission description:
Your colleague needs to 'borrow' some items and you're there to help him. You'll serve as a distraction so that he/she can slip in and finish his part of the job.

Mission details:
You'll be working with a thief to get this job done. You're to be a lookout while your partner-in-crime is going to perform the burglary, and of course, you're just slightly too late to warn him from an incoming patrol or a late-night check from the shop owner so you're in it over your head and need to stall the danger as long as possible.

You fail the mission when the threat becomes aware of you being an accomplice to a burglary, when your partner gets caught or simply when you fail to distract the opposing party in general. Since all you did was just 'chatting', they won't harm you (much) but you might find yourself spending a night or two in prison or doing some communal service to make amends.

A Cause for a Clown (Village/Repeatable):

Mission name: A Cause for a Clown (Village Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Take out your best jokes and make some people smile.
Location: Hospital, or a non-wilderness area with kids
Reward: 150 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +600 wc)

Mission description:
An event was planned in which a clown was required to make some local kids feel good. However, the actor fell ill and you're about to step in.

Mission details:
A small organisation called, "Klowns for Kids" is known to do some innocent circus acts for sick children resting at the hospital and as party clowns for birthdays. This might seem like a trivial mission as you have to act a clown, but to the kids (and parents) this could mean the world if you're doing a good job. So here you are, given a clown suit and the address.

You fail the mission when you can't find the address in time or act-a-fool and make the kids cry. Oh, and no taking off the suit no matter the weather or the mischief of the kids. You better endure this, it's for a good cause!

A Cause for a Clown (Crime/Repeatable):

Mission name: A Cause for a Clown (Crime Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Take out your best jokes and make some people smile.
Location: Hospital, or a non-wilderness area with kids
Reward: 150 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +300 wc) + 75

Mission description:
An event was planned in which a clown was required to make some local kids feel good. However, the actor fell ill and you're about to step in.

Mission details:
There may be a reason why some kids have been traumatised by the sight of clowns, and if they aren't... they soon will be. Your job is to crash a children's party while dressed up as a clown and get away with it while ditching the angry mob of parents, the wails of terrified kids and if need be, the local authorities. This might be harder than you'd think!

You fail if the kids aren't crying and making you feel like, well, a clown. You also fail when anyone discovers your real identity or get caught somehow.

Misinformant (Village/Repeatable):

Mission name: Misinformant  (Village Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Relay wrong information to an opposing faction.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area
Reward: 150 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +600 wc)

Mission description:
Your allies aim to cause confusion within the ranks of the opposing faction. You, as an unknown element, are to deliver that false information as a courier.

Mission details:
The shinobi of the Village aim to lure out a local bandit leader who's notoriously known to be a scaredy cat. With some false information at hand, you're to assume the looks of a bandit and deliver some mail in the downtown district. While you shouldn't be in any direct danger, do be careful when dealing with bandits.

You fail the mission if the letter is lost one way or the other, or you get caught while delivering.

Misinformant (Crime/Repeatable):

Mission name: Misinformant (Village Version)
Mission rank: D
Objective: Relay wrong information to an opposing faction.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area
Reward: 150 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +150 ryo for +300 wc) + 75

Mission description:
Your allies aim to cause confusion within the ranks of the opposing faction. You, as an unknown element, are to deliver that false information as a courier.

Mission details:
A local crime lord has taken interest in your 'neutrality' as an unknown face and wants you to slip in some false information concerning the local authorities - patrol schedules, actual names & addresses or 'prank letters' summoning them when it isn't so, any thing like that. The task is straight-forward, but not necessarily simple as you might have to explain why you're in possession of such vital information should you get caught.

You fail if you lose or forget the information, or fail to get away when authorities realise you're there to cause disarray.

Approved~

Street Tag (Village Version):

Mission name: Street Tag (Village Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: A few individuals are in need of discipline. You must apply a tag to each target.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward:  300 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +1200 wc)

Mission description:
You'll be given a list of three people to tag with special fuinjutsu seals (items). These seals have a distinct scent that's hard to be picked up by the human nose, making them an ideal hidden tag for trained animals. This will allow another team assigned to the second part of this mission to track them down easily and do their job in turn - apprehend them for interrogation. Your task is to successfully tag these people one way or the other while avoiding violence and while making sure they don't catch on to what's about to happen.

Naturally, you shouldn't be caught tagging your targets. You fail the mission if you are recognised/traceable, get caught or kill anyone. You can 'forfeit' the mission should you consider one or more targets too difficult to reach, but then your pay gets cut short as you will only be paid 100 ryo/successful tag - the minimum word count still must be reached and no bonus can be earned.

Mission details:
The three targets are common thugs with C rank stats, specs and jutsu. They could be brutes, thieves, assassins, ... anything the writer can come up with that is a criminal and not too high up the ranks, though each are listed for their own reasons as wanted by the local authorities for specific crimes.

Street Tag (Crime Version):

Mission name: Street Tag (Crime Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: A few individuals are in need of discipline. You must apply a tag to each target.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 300 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +600 wc) + 150

Mission description:
You've been given a list with three individuals that are in need of a lesson. You're also giving three valuable items pertaining to influential person - successful shop keepers, low rank samurai, guards... you get it.

You'll be placing each of these items within the pockets of the listed individual, or his household should you know where this is (there is no readily available info on this). In doing so, you'll allow your employer to send in an 'anonymous tip' that will see these people hung for their crimes.

Naturally, you shouldn't be caught framing your targets. You fail the mission if you are recognised/traceable, caught or kill anyone. You can 'forfeit' the mission should you consider one or more targets too difficult to reach, but then your pay gets cut short as you will only be paid 100 ryo/successful tag - the minimum word count still must be reached and no bonus may be earned.

Mission details:
The three targets should have a history with your employer that somehow put them on his/her bad side. Each of them have C rank stats, while the more combative targets also have C rank jutsu and/or weaponry to match.

The Bard's Tale (Village Version):

Mission name: The Bard's Tale (Village Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: A bard of legends has appeared in the Village and has started a small tournament of verbal combat - story telling, haiku or rap battle.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward:  300 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +1200 wc)

Mission description:
Under the judging eye of the Master Bard, you and a few others will duke it out with words to see who is the most verbose writer in the neighbourhood. Should you end in the finals, there are three rounds to be fought, on a 2 out of 3 winning rule.

- The first round is a round of story telling. Long or short, your story should hold a deeper value. The one with the greatest moral lesson wins the round.
- The second round is a round of poetry. The one with the most beautiful haiku wins the round.
- The third round is a rap battle. The one who can rival Killer B's legendary raps (As if...) wins the round.

You fail the mission if you take 'killing the crowd' too literally, if you can't keep the crowd entertained or if you simply give up.

Mission details:
The Bard is an unofficial Sannin-level wanderer who acts as judge and guardian during the tournament. He has otherwise little interest in combat, will refuse any and all challenges and has high ranked tailored jutsu aimed at binding opponents and escaping even during engages - in other words, you should be safe from anything but his (lousy?) poetic talents.

Your opponent is a shinobi of equal rank as yours with C-2 perception, allowing him/her to pick up your quips and witty retorts quite well. Anything else is up to the writer.

The Bard's Tale (Crime Version):

Mission name: The Bard's Tale (Crime Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: Experience life as a (lying) snitch.
Location: Any non-wilderness Village area holding buildings
Reward: 300 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +600 wc) + 150

Mission description: You worked your way in a local gang/local authority. Perhaps out of boredom, perhaps to be someone, perhaps their promises sounded appealing at first. Perhaps you're been undercover all this time for your boss, or maybe it's been a ruse all along for the sake of the chaos that you're about to spread. Either way, as an agent of discord, loyalty and predictability are hardly your strong point and thus you've decide to flip the tables and open the doors to allow Misery inside the ranks.

You've been approached by several people before who aimed to pry loose some information. People from opposing factions. An you've decided to take them up on their offer by giving them (false) information about an event that's been planned - a raid, a burglary, a kidnapping, you name it.

Mission details:
True traitor or lying snitch, you'll be paid a royal 300 ryo in total for the information you've been offering under the condition at least one of your 'new bosses' believes you to actually work for him. To achieve this, there are a few small tasks you'll have to put to good end:
- You may not be caught selling your information. If someone is able to track you down now or later in time, it's game over for you.
- As the event unfolds, you have to be there to watch the chaos you have orchestrated so you can tell the tale of what (truly) happened, o dastardly bard of discord.
- Snitches are no brutes nor murderers. Such acts will brand you as dangerous and hard to deal with, forcing the hand of your new patron to ditch you in turn as he saves his own hide.

The No-Go-tsune (Village Version):

Mission name: The No-Go-tsune (Village Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: A mischievous kitsune maintains a reputation of never having been defeated in a Go game. Local authorities assume cheating...
Location: Any
Reward: 300 Ryo + 25 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +1200 wc)

Mission description:
Your employer has set up a go game with the kitsune in question, requesting you put your creativity and strategy to good use to discover if the kitsune is, in fact, a master go player or a master cheater considering the genjutsu reputation of kitsune.

While to onlookers this will seem like just another go game, between the two of you it will be a battle of the forces of trickery - two master minds ever plotting new possibilities as they play (and win?) two games at once; the game of minds and the game of Go.

You fail the mission if you fail to catch the kitsune cheating or kill/maim/wound him (cheating at a go game is hardly a crime so the kitsune is considered an innocent). If you lose the Go game, there is no bonus ryo for you to be gained (use the extra wc for something else in that case!).

Mission details:
The kitsune can be male or female, and has C-2 stats. Like all kitsune, it's an S rank in genjutsu and greatly abuses that superiority during the game with its distracting jutsu. Its jutsu do not require hand seals, and make use of coded triggers similar to those of people playing cards - rubbing the nose or ear, coughing, thoughtful humming, stroking the beard/chin/cheek...

The kitsune is generally polite, if not somewhat flirtatious, and genuinely compliments good moves. As a strategist and trickster rather than a fighter, it's averse to inflicting pain and will admit defeat when having lost the game, or admit cheating when caught doing so albeit with an added off-handed chuckle as per its mischievous nature.

The No-Go-tsune (Crime Version):

Mission name: The No-Go-tsune (Crime Version)
Mission rank: C
Objective: A mischievous kitsune maintains a reputation of never having been defeated in a Go game.
Location: Any
Reward: 300 Ryo + 50 per 100 extra words (max: +300 ryo for +600 wc) + 150

Mission description:
A case of importance, that won't cost you your life. Probably. The Yakuza requires a stand-in for one of their greatest Go players, a kitsune who fell sick by drinking just too much poor quality sake. You've been chosen by your crime patron to do this. Your task is to perform a perfect Transformation (henge no jutsu), play a tournament Go game and win! It's that simple.
While they do not quite expect you to substitute the genjutsu tricks the kitsune uses, playing an honest game is not quite the expectation the Yakuza have about you, but if you get caught cheating... You'll understand soon enough.

Mission details:
Your opponent is a good Go player with C-2 stats, and has been tipped 'you' are quite the cheat in games as these so he'll be alert for any such tricks. As a strategist and tactical master, he's out to win this game by all means allowed in the rules, but remains a good sport should he lose the game.

You fail if you kill him, don't show up for the game, get disqualified or get caught cheating (should you decide to do so). You may lose the game, but in that case you aren't allowed to take the ryo bonus as a penalty (use the word count for something else!)

Approved~
