Zinan was wandering around the festivalís corridors when he spotted a few yokai garbed in security uniforms rummaging around through the trash. It was an odd sight to see, for sure, but the two yokai were clearly searching for something. Finishing up the candy that he was eating, Zinan walked over near the two. ďExcuse me, gentle-yokai. Is there something that I may be of some assistance to you?Ē The two yokai nodded enthusiastically and explained to Zinan about the mischievous nekomata that were stealing ryo and other items from festival goers. They asked Zinan if he could help track the most recent suspect down; he was a nekomata that looked like a large Siamese cat, with its tail split down the middle. Each tail had a small tuft of spirit fire at the end of it. The security personnel asked for Zinan to catch the nekomata and to beat some sense into it.

Zinan agreed to help the security force and headed off towards the other end of the stalls. There was no way that the nekomata was near the place where it last stole from; that would be foolish and would surely result in its capture. He did not know much about nekomata but he knew that bakenekos were more intelligent than their mundane cat counterparts. He was not a cat person, in fact, he despised cats. This little request for help would be all the more satisfying, as he gets to put some feline something in its place.

Knowing that the first step to an investigation was surveillance, Zinan quickly hid himself amongst the rambling festival goers. He reached the far end of the stalls, stepped off of the path, and, using the crowd for cover, Zinan flashed a dog, boar, and ram handsigns, before disappearing with a poof. Where he stood a second before was now a small shrubbery. Zinan waited and hoped to see if a nekomata would scamper by him.

Zinan did not have to wait too long, for only mere minutes had passed by before a split-tailed cat ran past him. With another cloud of smoke, Zinan reappeared and took off after the nekomata. The cat yokai would not get away from him. Zinan reached behind his back, to his left hip, and reached into his equipment pouch. With his nimble fingers, Zinan deftly pulled at the end of the wire spool and looped it through the center hole of a shuriken. He pulled the shuriken from his equipment pouch and held it in his left hand. With his right, he pulled his tanto from its sheathe on his right shoulder.

Zinan chased the nekomata, yet to be seen, though the different stalls of the festival. The distance between them slowly shrank to a manageable engagement distance. With a flick of his left wrist, Zinan launched the shuriken from his hand. With a whir, the wire attached to the shuriken spun out of the equipment pouch and slid through Zinanís hand. The shuriken neared the nekomata. It was thrown wide to the cat spiritís left. Zinan dropped one of his fingers down to the wire and the hairs that are unique to his clan gripped the wire. He channeled chakra into the wire and used it to guide the wire and shuriken back towards the right. The shuriken crossed in front of the nekomataís legs and looped around them. Zinan grasped the wire with the rest of his hand and pulled the wire. The shuriken and wire wrapped tightly around around the cat spiritís right rear leg; the shuriken embedded half of an inch into its leg. With all of his strength, Zinan pulled the wire.

With a hissing shriek, the nekomata hit the ground and tried to fight its way out of the wire. Zinan, however, did not give the cat spirit enough time to get out of the entangling wire. He leaped onto the nekomata and placed his knee into the spiritís neck. As deftly as he could, he stabbed his tanto into the ground and wrapped the wire around it as tight as he could, hopefully pinning the cat spirit to the ground.

Zinan slammed his fist into the cat spiritís face. The spirit hissed and tried to scratch at Zinanís face. The genin would not let that happen; he grabbed hold of the catís paws and pinned them under his legs. He continued to punch the cat spirit in its face and gut. When the nekomata stopped fighting back, Zinan ceased his barrage of fists. He quickly bound the spiritís front and rear feet together. ďWeíve had enough of this thieving. You and your gang need to get out of here.Ē He waved the two security spirits over and let the two of them take care of the spirit. They thanked him profusely and begged him to continue to enjoy the festival.

Name: Transformation Technique (変化の術 ~ Henge no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: Self.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: -5 every other post.
Cooldown: Duration +1 post.
Description: Given all the missions ninja are assigned to--battle, intelligence gathering, diversions--this is a priceless ninjutsu. It is typically used to change into people other than oneself, but one also has the ability to change into animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons; however, the object can be no smaller than 1 foot long in at least one dimension. Despite this, this technique has an abundance of uses. The transformation of a master of this technique (which is generally an Academy graduation requirement) makes the user physically and visually the same as the transformed person or object in question, giving the user the exact mass and physical qualities of whatever they transformed into. This is one of the most basic ninjutsu, as such most shinobi know how to perform it. This technique does not give a ninja the abilities or jutsu of a person they transform into, nor can give the user the damaging ability of a weapon (however, this can be used as a bluff). Sensory techniques can easily pick out someone transformed using this jutsu: the user's chakra would be active, as well as the fact that their biological functions and scent are not masked by this jutsu. Costs 5 chakra on activation, and an additional 5 chakra every other post after that.

Name:Manipulated Shuriken Technique (操手裏剣の術 - Sōshuriken no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: D-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Element: n/a
Range: ≤ 25m
Specialty: Bukijutsu

Cooldown: 3 Post
Description: With this technique a translucent string, both elastic and highly durable, is attached to a shuriken, making it possible to alter its path after having thrown it. An expert will have the ability to freely glide the shuriken in any direction with just a single movement of their fingertip, using the environment to alter the shuriken's course. The first attack, challenging the enemy, is avoided and after a time-lag of several seconds (1 post), it will come from behind.

Hidden Mist Technique:
Name: Water Release: Hidden Mist Technique (水遁・霧隠れの術 †~ Suiton: Kirigakure no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Element: Suiton/Water
Range: 15m radius
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 6 posts
Cooldown: 8 posts
Description: The user releases a thick mist from his or her mouth or uses a water source around him or her to create the mist. This effectively acts as a cover for the user. Doujutsu such as the sharingan are incapable of seeing through it, since the mist is kneaded with the user's chakra. The byakugan, however, can bypass this mist at any rank. Anyone with the Perception stat C rank will be able to see blurry movement within five meters of themselves - anyone with Perception stat B rank or higher will be generally be able to see movement around them within the mist, with only minor details obscured. The user is also incapable of seeing through the mist unless they themselves have an ability / technique that would enable them to do so.
