Clan Name: Nakir
Location: Kumogakure
Specialization: Chakra Flow, Ninjutsu, Weapon Styles (Kenjutsu, Swordsmanship)
Elements: Katon

Clan History: The Nakir Clan's first unified appearance was during the Third Shinobi World War. There had been rumors in and around Kumogakure for generations of a clan of monks that lived underground and practiced the art of the sword. This was partially true, save for the fact that this clan of monks lived amongst the lay people of Kumo and did not openly partake in the shinobi arts. They performed their ritualistic swordsmanship in dim, flame-lit caves and basements, hidden from the world, at extreme temperatures, and protected their Hidden Jutsu and their prized doujutsu, the Netsugan. To the outsider, this clan seemed like normal villagers who lived in Kumogakure and made their living by mining precious ores from the mountains around them. Though they did make a living by mining, the occupation also served as a way for the clan to carve out their ritual spaces and underground compounds.

However, when the Third Shinobi World War broke out, the younger members of the clan felt the nationalistic call of their village and wanted to fight against the evil forces of Konohagakure. Though against the wishes of the clan's elders, the younger members revealed their true identities and rushed off to join the war. They earned their name in one-on-one combat against the members of the Hidden Leaf Village and the prowess of their doujutsu was coveted by sensory shinobi world wide.

After the war, the Nakir clan resumed its unassuming presence in Kumo. They faded from the ranks of the shinobi in two short generations, as they resumed their hermit-like practice of their rituals. The Fourth Shinobi World War came and went but not one member of the Nakir clan partook in the fighting. Their hatred of Konohagakure prevented them from joining the ranks of the Allied Shinobi Force. After the war against the White Zetsu, the clan seemed to disappear back into rumor and legend. Some think it was because they felt the dishonor from not joining in the fight; others think it was something to do with their doujutsu. The truth: the clan has always been there, hidden amongst the people.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Netsugan
Kekkei Genkai Description:
The Nakir clan's hidden doujutsu is the result of generations of shinobi living underground and relying on their abilities with Katon jutsu to see. The unfortunate reality of clan-based inbreeding developed the first mutation of a child's eyes long before the spark of the Third Shinobi World War. The first Nakir to develop the Netsugan was able to perceive her surrounding by the level and intensity of heat as opposed to the visible spectrum of light. This doujutsu became revered in the clan though originally considered a curse. The eyes spread throughout the bloodlines after the first Netsugan user had activated. It revealed itself to shinobi that struggled against all odds in the oppressive heat and darkness of the caves that the clan inhabited and mined.

Eventually, the clan learned how to make the doujutsu appear in Nakir that were deemed worthy, not just through toil, but through ritualistic combat. Acts that were honorable and brought glory to the clan were recorded annually. The elders from the families would convene and select those members from each branch to receive the Netsugan. The rituals that were performed shortly after the selections were ones of intense heat, dim lighting, and rigorous combat. Such a strain awakened the Netsugan in those who did not possess it and strengthened the Netsugan in those who already did.

En Netsugan (Stage 1)

The En Netsugan is the first form of the Netsugan that a Nakir can obtain. To achieve the En Netsugan, the Nakir must be a D-Rank/Genin shinobi and must undergo an intensive Combat Ritual. The Ritual must be performed underground (i.e. a cave or basement), the only light must be made with fire. During this Ritual, the Nakir must fight off four D-Rank shinobi from the Nakir clan. This Ritual may be performed with NPCs but the word count must equal or exceed 2000 words. Once this requirement is met, the event that unlocked your Netsugan must be posted in your jutsu registration and be approved as though you were apping a technique. The cost for awakening is 500 ryo.

  • During this mode, Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is increased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have D-1 Reaction Time/Perception.

  • Once the Netsugan is deactivated, there is a cooldown equal to the active duration time +1 post. Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is then decreased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have E-3 Reaction Time/Perception equal to the active duration time.

  • Consumes 5 chakra per post when active.

Rain Netsugan (Stage 2)

The eyes take on a vertical split that is known as the Rain Netsugan. It is the second form of the Netsugan that a Nakir clansman can obtain. This is the stage of the Netsugan in which it begins to reveal its famed abilities.

To achieve the Rain Netsugan, the Nakir must be a C-Rank/Chuunin shinobi and must undergo an intensive Combat Ritual. The Ritual must be performed underground (i.e. a cave or basement), the only light must be made with fire. During this Ritual, the Nakir must fight off four C-Rank shinobi from the Nakir clan. This Ritual may be performed with NPCs but the word count must equal or exceed 2500 words. Once this requirement is met, the event that unlocked your Netsugan must be posted in your jutsu registration and be approved as though you were apping a technique. Cost for this technique is 1000 ryo.

  • During this mode, Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is increased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have D-1 Reaction Time/Perception.

  • The Nakir clansman is able to see thermal signatures of everything in the front 180 degree visual arc within 35m of them. These signatures are unrefined, therefore only show the Nakir a body of heat and not the specific level of heat or the fine details like individual fingers or a person's vascular/muscular system.

  • Due to the ability to see thermal signatures, Nakir shinobi with the Rain Netsugan are able to see through visual stealth techniques up to a D-Rank when active.

  • Once the Netsugan is deactivated, the Nakir shinobi will have color blindness and have a cooldown equal to the active duration time +3 posts. Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is then decreased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have E-3 Reaction Time/Perception equal to the active duration time.

  • Consumes 10 chakra per post when active.

Baningu Netsugan (Stage 3)

The Baningu Netsugan is the third form of the Netsugan that a Nakir clansman can obtain. This is a more refined version of the Netsugan than the Rain Netsugan. The eyes of during the Baningu Netsugan begin to give off faint light that closely resembles a match.

To achieve the Baningu Netsugan, the Nakir must be a B-Rank/Special Jounin shinobi and must undergo an intensive Combat Ritual. The Ritual must be performed underground (i.e. a cave or basement), the only light must be made with fire. During this Ritual, the Nakir must fight off four B-ranked shinobi from the Nakir clan. This Ritual may be performed with NPCs but the word count must equal or exceed 3000 words. Once this requirement is met, the event that unlocked your Netsugan must be posted in your jutsu registration and be approved as though you were apping a technique. Cost for this technique is 1500 ryo.

  • During this mode, Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is increased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have D-1 Reaction Time/Perception.

  • The Nakir clansman is able to see thermal signatures of everything in the front 180 degree visual arc within 55m of them, and behind solid objects. These signatures are extremely refined, allowing for the Nakir to see individual blood veins and vessels within a body, as well as the differing levels of heat within their vision (black being the coldest, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, white being the hottest).

  • Due to the ability to see thermal signatures, Nakir shinobi with the Rain Netsugan are able to see through visual stealth techniques up to a C-Rank when active.

  • Once the Netsugan is deactivated, the Nakir shinobi will have color blindness and have a cooldown equal to the active duration time +4 posts. Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is then decreased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have E-3 Reaction Time/Perception equal to the active duration time +1 posts.

  • Consumes 15 chakra per post when active.

Iroaseta Netsugan (Stage 4)

The faded, purple flame of the Iroaseta Netsugan is the final form of the Netsugan that a Nakir can obtain. The light from emanated from the Baningu Netsugan fades to a dull purple, though it does not change in intensity.

To obtain the Iroaseta Netsugan, the Nakir must be a an A-Rank/Jounin shinobi and must undergo an intensive Combat Ritual. The Ritual must be performed underground (i.e. a cave or basement), the only light must be made with fire. During this ritual, they must fight off four A-Rank shinobi from the Nakir clan. This Ritual may be performed with NPCs but the word count must equal or exceed 3500 words. Once this requirement is met, the event that unlocked your Netsugan must be posted in your jutsu registration and be approved as though you were apping a technique. Cost for this technique is 2000 ryo.

  • During this mode, Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is increased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have D-1 Reaction Time/Perception.

  • The Nakir can see the thermal signatures of everything in the front 180 degree visual arc within 75m of them, and behind solid objects. These signatures are extremely refined, allowing for the Nakir to see individual blood veins and vessels within a body, as well as the differing levels of heat within their vision (black being the coldest, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, white being the hottest).

  • Due to the ability to see thermal signatures, Nakir shinobi with the Iroaseta Netsugan are able to see through visual stealth techniques up to a B-rank when active.

  • Once the Netsugan is deactivated, the Nakir shinobi will have color blindness and have a cooldown equal to the active duration time +5 posts. Perception (visual cues) and Reaction Time of the Nakir is then decreased by a tier, meaning someone with Reaction Time/Perception trained up to D-0 will have E-3 Reaction Time/Perception equal to the active duration time +2 posts.

  • Consumes 20 chakra per post when active.

Attributes:

  • Due to having a strong katon alignment Nakir members receive a -25% word count requirement for learning Katon Techniques.

Drawbacks:

  • Due to the strong katon alignment, Nakir members must take the Hesitant (Element) characteristic with no counter balance.
  • Nakir clansmen are primarily swordsmen and must take Hesitant (Specialization) characteristic with no counter balance. They are also locked into Chakra Flow, Ninjutsu, and Weapon Styles, but may take them in no particular order.
  • The starting Weapon Styles sub-spec must be either Kenjutsu or Swordsmanship.
  • Nakir members cannot take Suiton as an element due to their strong Katon alignment.
  • Must start with Katon as a primary element.

Other:

  • The power of the Nakir is contained within their Doujutsu technique, the Netsugan. The Netsugan has multiple stages, with each stage unlocking additional abilities. You must keep track of your Netsugan level at the top of your Jutsu List.
  • Weapon Styles sub-specs are not limited to specifically to Kenjutsu and Swordsmanship

C-Rank
Let's-! M-m-m-m-mo-mod!

KKG:

  • Temperature - Not that there is anything necessarily wrong here with your trials. However they start to get pretty bad at higher ranks. For example the trial for the Iroaseta Netsugan requires the room to be 149C. All I'm saying is that water boils at 100 degree Celcius, and that the human body is primarily water. Though seeing as this mostly flavor text and we have super humans jumping around this isn't too big an issue.

Drawbacks: You've got a good list here, however there are not enough active drawbacks until you reach Iroaseta Netsugan. One more active drawback and everything should be balanced.

You've done pretty good with this clan. Kudos! <3

Unless im mistaken, doujutsu should activate at powers of the user's ninja rank, considering that's the rank of power a person is. You have these written as if they're a jutsu of a rank higher, IE, with a 75m range in the C rank variant. I would like you to bring those down to things within your rank, and not a rank above please.

chakra cost on the final rank? what do you mean by permanent, i dont think it's okay just to have it for free forever, that's pretty intense, also, no immunity to their own fire or firebreathing? Or am i thinking of the wrong clan? lol.

Drawbacks look good. just be sure to keep the drawbacks active and 1 for 1

Alright,

I know it's been awhile, so here it goes. Changes were made to remove out the heat specifications of the ritual to make some logical sense. The Netsugan now has deactivation drawbacks to try balance out its abilities. The clan now is locked to Chakra Flow, Ninjutsu, and Weapon Styles. Other additional changes have been made to clean the profile up a bit.
