[Continuation]

Tenjin was in the midst of ending his long journey from Konohagakure no sato to reach the ruins of Sunagakure no sato. When he got to the top of the hill that blocked his view of the horizon, all of the tension in his body, gathered from the long journey, seemed to disappear at once. The sight of Sunagakure’s ruins just down a mile away meant that soon he would be finding out if anybody there will be willing to train the young and eager shinobi. The mere thought seemed to give his body all the energy that had been slowly draining from his body as the days went on. He took off running, with a wide grin spread across his face, in the direction of the village. Nothing was going to keep him from reaching the ruins, not even his own fatigue.

"Sunagakure, here I come!" Tenjin yelled aloud.

Tenjin was then met with a rude awakening to his current circumstance. Seeing a group of bandits from afar going towards him as they heard his gleeful scream. Tenjin soon enough swiftly stopped and looked around for somewhere to hide. Tenjin was easily able to spot that there was more than 10 people coming toward him, and there was absolutely nowhere to hide in the middle of the desert. Tenjin had little time to prepare for what was going to happen but if he was going to be confronted by bandits, he wanted his allegiance to any village to be hidden in case they sought shinobi from major villages to rob them of their belongings, or even worse, hold them for ransom. Tenjin dropped his bag and took out the outfit that he recently bought from a small shop in the hidden rain village. It was a hooded cloak with the yin yang symbol draped all over, including on its mask. Tenjin saw this as a sublime message to his goal as a shinobi in this trek to power. Balancing the good and evil conceptual identities in the pursuit of power, the young shinobi knew that this was a new arc in his life where he was going to behave out of character in order to attain what Iwagakure needs most.

Tenjin started by placing the mask on his face while still keeping an eye on the closening in bandits. The young shinobi then took off his gi in order to put on a skin tight bodysuit that went under his hooded cloak. As the bandits neared, Tenjin added his gloves to his repertoire and boots to match, so that now not even his skin was being touched by the blistering sun rays. Tenjin finally took out his hooded cloak and buried the bag as he got on one knee to dig a small hole and covered his belongings with ease. Before Tenjin knew it, the bandits arrived and surrounded Tenjin as one of them, which appeared to be their leader as he was the only one on horseback, said, “What’s in the bag little man?” Tenjin didn’t say a word to these bandits as he slowly got up and in one slick move, swung his cloak sleeve in to his right arm as the long jacket went around his body to also get his left arm in the sleeve. Two bandits stood beside the one that was on a horse, and one of them spoke, “Hey, he was talking to you!” But Tenjin still didn’t budge, this time placing his hood over his head.

For most people in the deserts of Sunagakure no sato, the solitude and isolation of the desert was one of the biggest problems. For Tenjin, the young Iwagakure no sato chunin, it was the inhabitants of the ruins of Suna that made his situation as bad as it could be. The ruins of Sunagakure was exactly what he had heard, as it was home to people that Tenjin really didn’t want to have problems with at this very moment, bandits and other criminals. Tenjin was alone, and by the look of these bandits, there were not going to be pushovers. They had sharpened teeth, that Tenjin suspected was for eating human flesh, and bright red eyes which Tenjin deduced could be caused by drugs that may have made these people more violent and irrational. Yet after a short while in the center of this crew, his biggest fear was realized.

The leader of the bandits then gestured to one of their crew members who appeared to be the youngest of the bunch to go forth and retrieve the bag. Tenjin was relatively the same height as this individual which most likely provided this organization of criminals some undeserved confidence in the matter at hand. ‘Why else would they send a child to retrieve goods right in front of a target?’ Tenjin thought. There was a technique that Tenjin has been training in pure secrecy, and it was by far his most accomplished technique which he felt he needed to utilize at this moment in order to not make any wasted movements against these guys who clearly looked like they have killed. Tenjin would quietly wait as the cautious young bandit drew himself closer to Tenjins side, where he buried his belongings. As soon as the kid reached Tenjins side, Tenjin quickly created a small orb of spinning black chakra between his two hands large enough to fit in his palm.

The chakra within this technique is dense enough and spins at a high enough velocity to drill itself into an opponent before detonating, potentially causing extreme internal injuries that could become potentially life-threatening if not treated quickly, and their didn’t appear to be a medic in their squad. Before the kid was able to move, Tenjin was able to use his reaction time to force the orb on to his right palm as he thrusted it toward the bent over bandit. On impact, this jutsu drilled 3" into the opponent before exploding in a shock-wave that delivered severe internal bruising and organ damage in a 1/2 foot radius from the point of impact as well as breaking and fracturing bones within that radius. When the explosion occurred, the young bandit was slung to the opposite direction of Tenjins strike. Right there and then, the leader yelled in despair, “He’s a shinobi! Get Him!” and the group of bandits closed in on Tenjin as he prepared for the fight of his life that was surely impossible to win. Tenjin needed a miracle if he wanted to survive this battle in the hot and sluggish desert.

Yōsei

Yōsei

S-rank
'Tell me what you desire, so that one day I may take it from you.'

Skip after skip, Yōsei watched over the Land of Wind. The contract sealed with that insidious Dragon Queen who lay at the center of this ruined land spurred him to these pointless errands. Until he dealt with the hunters from Kirigakure, the way to Iwa would be just out of reach. So he sped across the lost dunes of this dead landscape, monitoring dust and solitude with weary eyes. His foot would land, barely touching the sand as eyes scanned toward the horizon, meeting nothingness as they always did, endless, scorching, pointless nothingness. With the hop of his next step, the Sealer would be gone, vanishing from sight as quickly as he'd come in a puff of white smoke. Days and nights in the sand would have caked the folds of his cloak thick with dust if not for the intricate seals which made up the threads, shining with the morning sun. Making haste across the dunes, Yōsei was a gossamer phantasm, barely disturbing the sand where he ran while flickering to and fro searching for any sign of Kiri dogs.

The next step put him on a ridge, buried in massive ancient dunes but as always overlooking the expanse below. Yōsei placed this seal years ago when the world still wanted this place. The camp of thieves lay at the bottom of this dusty valley, Yōsei oversaw them from his perch, trained eyes looking for threats among them. Groups of vagabonds still roamed throughout this land, criminals galvanized by destruction and thrust together in the harsh desert vyed for territory. Outside of his sacred nest far beyond the walls of Suna's western border, those things ceased to matter; but here, under the molten sun of the real world, such vicious nomads would not be tolerated. Still, the Sealer was nothing if not curious and so he followed these men, slipping between their tents unnoticed in the early morning. While the men slumbered, the assassin would creep among them, searching for prisoners or slaves to free; unwilling to enact final judgment on mere suspicion. Finding no charge, Yōsei would place his fingers firm on the black sheath of a blade which lay in the shadow of a tent, inscribing there his sacred formula which would remain invisible against the dark wood. This band would serve as another of his watchtowers, each seal a beacon across the desolated landscape providing Yōsei with a window through which to look.

Yōsei found himself split between the axis of two worlds; he spent countless hours prowling the Valley for its buried secrets with Hika, only to return here and spend days at a time navigating as the scout for Lamya's empire. No matter where he lay, whether honestly outside of time or not, the days blurred together utterly. Part of the man wished to pick up his weapons and make the journey back to the Land of Fire, reveal himself and be done with this subterfuge. Yōsei grimaced beneath his mask, the white visage which existed to pay homage to that manipulator of kings; the whispered rumors on the world's edge spoke of a coming terror more profound than a Jonin of Konoha would have the power to overcome. Even if he were to repeat history and kick through the doors to the city, demand his rightful place and take back the Leaf by force, he still wouldn't have the power necessary. Only by enacting this slow vengeance would the Sealer be able to achieve his goal; uniting those brave few who endured to become something more than men, and bring them together against a greater foe.

For Yōsei, it would be seconds, but in actuality, three days would pass before he set eyes upon the band of thieves again. In his patrols, he often left seals unchecked for days at a time, preferring to let the sands shift as they desired rather than be everywhere at once, and to conserve what chakra he needed for other endeavors. When the man in black appeared, it was to the side of that same sheath, which now was strung against the thigh of a horse behind the group of rogues. The Sealer's eyes narrowed on the advancing horde, whose backs were turned to him but their ire cast directly at the figure of a boy who stood in the sand. The frame of their target marked him as young, though a substantial black robe covered his features. Yōsei hopped forward, right hand gripping the breeze at his side and pulling Kyoki from its flow, ebony-sheathed Legacy twisting the sun's reflection into a malformed spiral. Tenjin would likely notice the figure in black before his assailants, cloak and dagger would charge them from behind, rage awakened ready to punish them for their folly. But the Sealer took his time to approach, watching even as they accosted the boy from afar and approached him. Beneath his mask Yōsei grinned when Tenjin's chakra rumbled from the depths of his being, manifesting in a vicious swirl of black chakra to meet with his first oppressor and deal with him swiftly. The boy was a ninja, indeed, and one luckily under the watch of Suna's Bewitching Spirit Guardian.

In a flash of dust and lightning, Yōsei would be upon the man closest to Tenjin, tall frame imposing itself between the boy and his foe. Kyoki's sheath would lash out, striking the underside of the man's wrist, which would emit a loud crack, and then hissing with the sound of metal as Yōsei withdrew the weapon, left hand crossing under the other to catch the falling sheath. Off-hand now poised to follow with metal drawn across his left shoulder would careen back, the wakizashi making short work of the bandit's torso, sending the top half plummeting backward several feet into the sand, while his legs would quiver and then buckle. Yōsei's body would twist then, left leg coming out hard to meet the second closest in the ribs, sheer force of the Sealer's strength sending the broken husk of his body from the ground and nearly a dozen meters skipping across the sand. As predicted, the man's entrance had brought with it a terrible silence, thieves backing away and looking at each other for signs of encouragement, gauging Yōsei's body and eyeing his bloody sword. Up close, barely seven feet from the boy, Tenjin would be able to observe the masked man's aesthetic more accurately. Strung at the man's side would be the black sheath of Seisakata, wrapped in old white cloth, the combination of ōdachi and wakizashi marking Tenjin's savior as a samurai, or at least a follower of their traditions.

Bandits, hardened by long months of surviving in this hellish desert, would not be deterred by a man in a black mask alone, and in response, unleashed toward the pair a volley of projectiles in the form of thrown axes, kunai, and arrows. Yōsei's grip would loosen on the weapon in his hand, right foot digging into the sand as he prepared to engage. The blade would fall for a moment before vanishing, whipping up a gust of wind around the Sealer in an instant, causing the sand at his feet to swirl in rhythm with Kyoki's protective field. This first assault by the men would meet with Yōsei's wind barrier, veering off in sharp arcs away from the two by virtue of the Leaf's treasure alone. Of the considerable group, Yōsei marked two as immediate threats; even together they would stand little chance of laying a scratch on the Sealer but posed a genuine danger to the boy at his side. The man's left hand came down to his side, gripping The Oath's handle firmly while he spared a glance toward Tenjin.

"If you are a ninja, then fight. Or die. The sand won't know the difference."

The Iwa ninja would hear Yōsei's voice in the wind, echoing from the heat which rose from the sweltering dunes.

Tenjin

Tenjin

D-rank
It did not take long for Tenjin to witness death in the sand, coming in an instant was an imposing figure who stood between the young chunin and an incoming bandit, whos maneuvers were too quick to thoroughly have noticed as all Tenjin saw was the bandit being split in half with a sword that the young shinobi only saw once held after the strike. Tenjin fell backward, shocked to see what he just saw as this mystery figure kick the second bandit with a force great enough to have the man look like he was a stone being skipped over the ocean that is the hot desert sand. As the thieves began to slowly back away, Tenjin himself simultaneously began to move back while still on the ground but with his eyes locked on this person who urgently came to save the Iwa ninja. Tenjin looked at the man's sword, blood oozing down thick like red velvet honey. The young shinobi was baffled with what he saw, but what more did he expect from the slums that once housed one of the more powerful villages of the shinobi world. This figure certainly appears to operate in the night, as he is dressed in all black and is concealing his face for what Tenjin can assume are obvious reasons. Tenjin couldn’t help but realize how tall this figure appeared, and by all accounts, his physical conditioning in regards to his speed and strength were impeccable and the young shinobi cannot think of one individual in Iwagakure that could match such a force. This worried Tenjin as he knew that he needed to get stronger for the sake of the village, especially if their were shinobi of this magnitude lingering around outside of the villages borders. Tenjin gripped the grounds hot sand, paying no mind to the heat being emitted from it due to the weather in the desert as he thought about this guys crisp movements with his kick and sword strike, which indicated to Tenjin a high level of shinobi training in both the fields of Taijutsu and Bukijutsu. The combination of ōdachi and wakizashi marked this man as a samurai, or at least a follower of their traditions taking into account his prowess.

Tenjin looked up to see a sea of melee weapons being hurled at the pair, which caused this hidden figure to drop his weapon, which surprisingly enough simply vanished into thin air, and a barrier was established to protect the two from the projectiles that were thrown at them. Tenjin then noticed this man grab the handle of his sword and look back at Tenjin as the both seemed to have locked eyes. All Tenjin heard was, "If you are a ninja, then fight. Or die. The sand won't know the difference." Which angered Tenjin for its truth is unparalleled. Tenjin being a shinobi of Iwagakure has no leverage to call for allies, and he came alone to these sands in hopes of becoming stronger, and this was his opportunity. Tenjin then let go of the grip he had on the sand, and with new vigor was able to consciously collect himself. Tenjin would never admit it, but seeing this shinobi quickly appear in front of him and do what he did, caused Tenjin to fear this man as he could have just as easily appeared in front of the young shinobi and sliced him in two rather than the bandit. Tenjin wasn’t prepared to see the powers that could be in this shinobi world, but what he lacked in experience, he made up for in hard work and unmatched dedication as Tenjin finally found a goal, or some would say a purpose, and that is to attain the power that this shinobi had.

It didn’t take long for the young shinobi to regain his composure and get into attack mode just a mere secant after hearing the words of this mystery shinobi echoing from the heated winds which rose from the sweltering dunes. While still on the ground, Tenjin will instantly become invisible to the naked eye. Utilizing his transparent escape technique, a jutsu that allows Tenjin to spy on others if needed without being noticed, as it rendered the young shinobi completely invisible while also making his shadow disappear, allowing him to make stealthy strikes on his opponents as he escapes from the opponent's sight. Tenjin while still on the ground would aim his palm toward a bandit that was running toward the pair, the only thing that was noticeable at this point was a shockwave that split the sand to the right and left side of the target as the young shinobi expelled a great amount of chakra from his palm, that produces a strong repulsive force, what was great enough to break bones with its concussive force and push the target back and into a number of his partners. The bandit hit by the attack was hit specifically on his chest to the goal of breaking the man's ribs which Tenjin deduced was successful as he coughed out blood which signified that a rib punctured his lungs.

The young shinobi looked at his hand, as he has never used this technique in a lethal manner like done today, but this was no time to waste time as Tenjin quickly stood and ran toward the bandits. Kicking the first one in the stomach with his left leg, and elbowing a second with his right arm, only to land another kick at a target who just decided to chase after the area to which his allies were flying to the opposite direction. Tenjin then elbowed another bandit with his left arm and gave two palm strikes to the chest of a target that ran right into him. It was apparent that they didnt know where Tenjin was exactly, but had an idea of the small area he was in due to the footprints left in the sand caused by the weakness of this jutsu still having Tenjin retain his mass. So one bandit jumped straight up and toward this small area which prompted the young shinobi to back-flip and kick this target in the stomach as the young shinobi landed on his hands and spun with his legs spread to attack the first three bandits who went down but got back up to attack Tenjin. Tenjins taijutsu is truthfully skilled, but due to his strength and speed, was not able to deliver the same type of damage that this mystery shinobi did when kicking his second target meters away from his standing location.

Yōsei

Yōsei

S-rank
What goal could bring a shinobi all the way to this forsaken land, wrought between the slings of this desolate era? Yōsei's eyes trailed across the men who stared him down, each wondering in their heart what monster they had awakened here. After their initial onslaught met with Kyoki's defiant wind, the ground pulsed with the desert's natural breeze while they stood perfectly still in the stalemate between carnage and retreat. It was not in the Sealer's nature to allow harm to befall a young lone shinobi, and though gone were his days of ruthless slaughter, the life of a ninja invariably encounters death. What fate had brought him here now? Yōsei spared a brief thought for his charge and what their goals may be here, but for now, the boy would be under his watch, at least until he dealt with the thieves. Under his breath, Yōsei uttered a prayer for the men who stood before him, absolving them for their sins.

Behind the Sealer's eyes, he would begin to gather swirling chakra to empower his sight, dim blue glow signifying the appearance of his faux-Sharingan. Such a technique did wonders for Yōsei's vision, chakra flow emerging into view, tenketsu quickly spotted, and even the form of his invisible companion would be apparent as the samurai set to work. Whether Tenjin was still paying any attention to the Sealer was irrelevant by now; Yōsei would be off in a rush, two bounds across the sand enough to close the gap to the first of the unwitting bandits. He rose his right arm, extending his forearm into the man's chest with enough force to lift him off his feet and toss him with that same leverage toward the right-hand side where a group of his conspirators would have an abrupt date with their comrade. After swatting the man away, Yōsei reached across his body, left hand drawing Seisakata's black edge and in another instant, he was upon the men. The Oath would cut silently through the air, intercepting what fingers grasped at weapons and slicing them clean, Yōsei stepped forward with the cuts, thrusting the tip forward to catch a thief's ribs and push into the heart which thrummed there. It took minimal effort for the Sealer to pull the Oath from our of the torso to the side and continue, without wasting movement, to bring the blade down before whipping it back up in a vicious arc for an oncoming arm.

It was effortless for Yōsei to weave among them, his blade cutting through errant limbs which swung weapons without purpose. He stepped between two men with his right foot and spun on its axis, deflecting a sword drawn in aggression and pivoting to slide across the sand and eviscerate the man's partner. Before slipping organs would hit the sand, Yōsei would already be within blade's reach, Seisakata held in both hands tucked firmly against the chest with the sword pointed forward. Before having time to draw breath, the bandit would feel his lung collapse and then the final moments of life before the Sealer carried forward, twirling the blade with expert fingers to sever the spine and drop the corpse to a heap. Yōsei took no pride in this slaughter; these men posed no challenge for him even as they swarmed from all directions, they would be met with deft parries followed by fleet footwork which positioned the Sealer where he would strike. Single blows took lives from the world within a second each and Yōsei jumped forward, gliding seamlessly with the flow of thrown projectiles and knocking them off course with the flat of his blade.

Weary eyes turned to the source of the sneak attack, a tall, raven-haired gentleman with regalia marking him as a prisoner of Sunagakure's destroyed prisons. Hitai-ate of the Sand crossed through with vicious scratches marked him as a shinobi. Another flurry of shuriken, another chord of metal scraping and Yōsei was gone with the sparks, vanishing into the dunes and then reappearing to the Jonin's left. The rogue would barely have time to leap backward and avoid being cut in two; truthfully, it was Yōsei's own devices that spared his life a moment longer, a second to gauge his combat potential before judging him lacking and lashing forward with a single blow for the left arm. Drawing his blade, the Jonin would swing the katana to block as instinct demanded but be met with supernatural strength. The Sealer's blade, unimpeded by delicate wrists, would spin the sword from the rogue's hands and continue forward through the broken arm and into the side of his chest. Unwilling to spray the sandy canvas with unnecessary gore, Yōsei would pull the Oath backward after reaching the heart and curving the blade for the spine, letting the mostly intact Jonin slump down.

He wondered what acts these men had seen during the Sand's collapse, inwardly cursing his own weakness for crawling back too late to stop the atrocities here. Standing atop the Sunagakure administration building, could he have convinced Mitsuo to cease those blasphemous acts, and if not, could he have slain him instead? Time would bring the old friends back together, of that Yōsei was confident, but for now, the present required his attention. The Sealer's bloody swathe he had cut through the bandit ranks would take less than a second, affording him ample time to watch Tenjin's movements and study the young shinobi's fighting style. In his time away, Yōsei had come to learn the world was full of useful tools, but without knowing the boy's allegiances, nothing could be decided. Yōsei spun the Oath in his fingers and placed it back sheathed against his hip in a single motion before pouncing forward into the melee where his charge fought against the encroaching melee.

Tenjin would only see Yōsei when he came to enough of a stop to strike. The Nukenin would slide forward on the sand, spinning in time with the invisible Iwa shinobi, striking out with his hands against frail bodies and shattering them with his bare hands before following through into the group. A blow for the Sealer's head would be ducked before grabbed and tossed back in the direction of Tenjin, where he would come to rest with a shattered shoulder only feet from the boy. Yōsei pressed onward, left forearm blocking a high kick and then spinning his body to return a kick of his own, enough force to lethally shatter the man's chest and send him off into the desert kicking up dust. Darting through the combat around Tenjin, it would be apparent to the boy that he was not hidden from the Sealer's vision; Yōsei's expert movements and strikes would time correctly with the boy's positioning, not interrupting his plans in the slightest while still executing his will on the battlefield. Unlike the dominant forces of legendary shinobi that Tenjin may have known, Yōsei slipped through the flow of combat like a ghost, utterly unnoticed and unopposed.

Tenjin

Tenjin

D-rank
It all started like a dream. There was fighting and the sound of screaming, the man that was his ally became a shadow of his former self. The visage of his former self disappeared in its entirety, the mysterious figure projected himself as a flash as he ran, taking the bandits swiftly as they were taken out by the punches and kicks of the hidden beast of the Sunagakure dunes. As the battle field cleared of people the young shinobi found it easier to see his ally, but only when he stopped to strike near him. The figure would then again, move with incredible speed towards the bandits causing them to fall before they move on instinct. Tenjin himself was determined to stop these bandits, and he was determined to stop them by killing them. The night slowly crept over the sky and wiped away the layer of light that had covered the village, now leaving only darkness. His ears plucked out the varying sounds that swamped the village at night, such as the constantly gentle wind as it made its way through the village. However, something begun to disturb those sounds, he heard footsteps near him. It didn't sound like only one set of feet either, it seemed like there were more.

Tenjin knew it was them nearing him, he could just feel it in his bones. Silently performing becoming more apparent. A few seconds after he had discontinued the jutsu, the blade of a kunai would drag along the throat of where Tenjin would have been. Much to the surprise of the bandits, their kill turned into a log. Tenjin appeared in the air right behind the male's head whom had tried to slit his throat, doing a tornado kick to his head in mid air. The foot of Tenjin hit roughly against the back of the man's head. Tenjin quickly turned around to get a mental note of the current amount of people that were there. Four bandits were near Tenjin. Meaning there were four bandits that he needed to take care. Tenjin nodded his head in understanding, and quickly leaped towards them before any of them could retaliate and attack him back. Channeling chakra into his feet before he landed, he skidded three paces forward before he turned around and noticed the group had also begun their attack towards him.

The supposed leader of the group climbed off of his horse, cursing at the boy that had kicked one of his soldiers. The leader stood in front of the group of bandits as he promised Tenjin that he would kill him and his ally for what they have done. But of course, this didn't bother him, not in the least. He'd already avoided the killing blow from the man when he wasn't expecting it, never mind if he was expecting it. Tenjin slid his hand down into his ninja pouch and searched inside it for a second before he finally pulled a single kunai out from his pouch. He believed he could kill all of them with a single kunai and without using his ninjutsu capabilities. The group watched as the measly young chunin pulled out a kunai, which brought a bout of laughter from them. Each of them began to charge at Tenjin as they all drew their own weapons which were apparently greater than a small kunai. As soon as they got near to him, Tenjin flicked his kunai upwards and gripped onto it with his other hand, deflecting one of the men that had came towards him with the intent to kill and Tenjin easily avoided the rest of them by using his kunai to deflect their strikes. After their initial attack, Tenjin turned his body around as he kept his eyes focused on them, watching them carefully for anything that could prove to be a weak spot or an advantage for them. Once again, the group charged at the boy with the intent to kill, much like a bull chasing after red. Tenjin would continue to deflect their weapon strikes using his own kunai, ducking every now and again to confuse them with his own movements. This time, as the group began to charge at Tenjin, Tenjin charged at them as well.

This surprised the man who was at the front, which was obvious when he didn't defend himself from a punch to his gut. As the man keeled over from the winding blow, Tenjin roughly slammed his knee upwards and into the nose of the man. As this happened, the man flew upwards from the force that Tenjin used, falling into his comrades that were also charging at Tenjin. All of them falling like dominoes. The man laid on the hot sand and carefully felt his nose, wincing in pain as soon as his fingers touched it. Pulling his hand away he'd carefully look at it, shrieking, "You made me bleed! I'll kill you!" This seemed to rally on his friends who pushed themselves and helped their friend up. They once more charged towards Tenjin without much thought put into their tactics except, 'Rush and Kill'. Tenjin just continued to deflect blow after blow after blow with his kunai. The sound of scraping metal was heard and the showering of sparks seen each time Tenjin used his kunai to deflect them. As one of the men tried to clash hiw weapons against Tenjins kunai, Tenjin moved close to the man's body so he could avoid the initial blow of the man and quickly forced his knee up into the man's gut. The man keeling over was a sign that his knee had struck home, and Tenjin responded by slamming his foot into the back of the man's ankle. Falling onto the sand, Tenjin watched with a small laugh as he took a few steps away from them. Waiting silently until two bandits and as the two people neared Tenjin, he ducked under the two of them. They charged at him once more and Tenjin responded to it by ducking under the first sword strike, gripping onto the wrist of the man as he got near. As he did that, Tenjin twisted his body around and threw him into the body of the other man that was charging. The man crashed into his comrades body from the side, sending them both tumbling down onto the hot desert sand.

A small smile grew on Tenjins lips as he realised what was happening, him and his allies were winning. Continuing the small dance that he was doing each time they charged at him, he'd slowly begin to turn up the heat for them. Each time they charged at him, Tenjin cut into their flesh a little. Not enough to seriously wound them, but it would make them bleed and thus it'd make them lose their stamina quicker. Tenjin always enjoyed watching an enemy that knew he would be unable to win but still continue trying, he always loved the the feeling of thriving for more. It always soothed him for some reason he didn't know, but he assumed it was just something to do with the path he had always wanted to follow. The men would keep charging towards Tenjin and he had to give them credit. They weren't giving up even though Tenjin believed he had depleted all of their stamina supplies. However, this little game had begun to annoy him. Tenjin simply jumped upwards and spun in the air, slamming his foot directly into the face of the man that was charging at him that time. The man fell down onto the sand, which was pleasant for Tenjin. Doing a backflip as the other man got neared him, he kicked roughly into the man's chin and the man flew upwards and landed onto the sand on his back. Tenjin did not feel like wasting chakra however, so he quickly jumped behind one of the men that was combating his ally and gripped harshly onto his shoulders. Pulling him down from behind, Tenjin slamming his foot down onto the forehead of the bandit as he fell onto the sand. The other man turned around to see what had happened to his comrade and a look of dismay was clear on his face. However, he had let his guard down on Tenjin that was right behind him, as he swiftly stabbed his kunai in between the ribs of the man, letting a spray of blood erupt from the wound when he tugged the kunai back out. The man fell onto his knees before Tenjin twisted around and slammed his foot into the back of the man's head, making him fall down onto the hot desert floor. Tenjin was exhausted from the fight, and simply collapsed due to fatigue. While still obviously conscious, he was able to see instances of his ally handling his own, taking doesnt bandits with far more ease than Tenjin was able to handle.  Tenjin smiled knowing that this was over.

Yōsei

Yōsei

S-rank
The Sealer hopped once; eyes transfixed on weary bandits who clutched meekly at their hips for blades. In a flash, Yōsei was among the group, launching a swift strike with his right leg toward an exposed thigh, rendering it shattered while he jumped with his planted leg and spun. His left leg extended out during his spin, executing in as little time as it took for the men to draw half a blade, and struck for the ribs of a second target. The man's back landed on the sand, cushioned by a warm wind which rose from Nature herself to do the Sealer's bidding. Yōsei stood swiftly, arms raising to his face and punching with his dominant hand for the chin of a bandit who would be afforded no time to react to the man's quickness. The pain only lasted a second before losing consciousness, the Sealer's inhuman strength far too much for a man to bear. While he engaged these men, Yōsei kept his eyes alert for the second presence he felt in the nearby sands; another rogue ninja would be upon them soon.

He watched as Tenjin moved on his own accord to engage, taking the fight into his hands alone. Audacious, well-trained, and ruthless; indeed, this one would make an excellent shinobi. The Sealer had faith in the boy to continue his engagement and would not interfere, instead, bringing his hands up to slide past an incoming blade. Yōsei would thrust his left elbow into the awaiting ribs of an assailant behind him, whipping his body to grip the man and toss him across the sands into one of his comrades. Following this, the Sealer left the ground, jumping high to cover a considerable distance and overlook the battlefield. Glowing eyes trailed chakra through the sky, fading with the arc of his jump before twisting into a sharp spiral as Yōsei found the mark he had sought. Rising from the sand south of the main force was the partner of the Rogue who Yōsei had slain moments earlier. As the Sealer landed, he took off like a rocket, sand kicking up vicious torrents in the wake of his arc toward the Jonin. Already weaving the hand seals for his jutsu, the rogue would thrust his hands forward, and the dust around his body would expand with wind chakra, throwing the sand toward Yōsei to intercept his path.

Raising a finger, sacred scripture would form in the palm of Yōsei's hand, swiping in time with the Jonin's technique and erasing it from reality in an instant. The former Hokage's sealing technique, refined and perfected through years of study, would constrict the chakra of the Jonin's jutsu, denying it the right to manifest and swallowing it whole. Barely having time to process the Sealer's ascent toward him, the Rogue drew his blade, learning from observing the battle and imbuing his sword with chakra in an instant before Yōsei had the chance to unleash his barrage. Seisakata rose high, expertly wielded even in the man's off-hand, and spun down toward the shoulder where it met with flowing energy and tempered steel, shattering the defense like crystals before whipping around to strike again. This time the Oath was earthbound at first, hammering up for the thigh where the blade in its path was undefended but surged just in time with another technique to parry, sacrificing another defense to Yōsei's elegant dismissal. With each subsequent blow, the Jonin would be pushed back, the force emitted from Yōsei's slashes causing the sand to erupt in waves, playing orchestra to the Sealer's honed conduction.

Had between the pair was a dance that neither of them was stranger to, Yōsei's rhythmic cadence washed down upon the Jonin in an endless flow, causing him to break away further in the sands with each strike from the Sealer's mighty onslaught. Unwilling to be humiliated, the Jonin spun his body and lashed out with his blade for the Sealer's side, causing Yōsei to pivot his free arm and grip the night breeze to pull from it the deceptive Kyoki and parry the strike. Metal and sparks ignited in the black, casting abstract cracks of shadow along the sand which was stained otherwise dark by the present night. Without delay, the Jonin came with a second blow for Yōsei's knee which met with Seisakata's hungry edge, striking with precision at the point of impact and causing the bandit to yelp as the force impacted his wrist. The Sealer's gaze remained calm through the holes in his mask, darting forward and dropping the Legacy back into the wind, Yōsei let loose a punch with his right hand, extending it toward the Jonin's jaw with the momentum of his closure.

Reacting with a pair of hand seals, the Jonin's chakra exploded into the earth, lifting layers of thick stone in the path of Yōsei's strike. The Sealer, much stronger than the makeshift barrier, penetrated it with his blow but the job was done, and the Jonin maneuvered backward, pulling a string of kunai from his belt to unleash at Yōsei with force. As the ex-Hokage stormed onward through the dust and debris, the black blade of his Oath swung violently, bright shimmers of metal conflict the only clue of his deft parries which deflected the ranged volley as he closed the gap. From his dominant side, Yōsei planted his foot and used it as leverage, creating the axis to provide his swing momentum and launch it for the midsection of his foe. The Jonin's eyes widened, flickering and suddenly being replaced by the form of a kunai which Yōsei obliterated with his force, also causing the sand behind his target's old position to kick up in a wave which rolled for several meters, burying everything in its wake.

Sensing the formation of chakra, Yōsei spun with preparations of his own as the air drills pierced through the gap between the shinobi. Vicious spirals of Futon chakra kicked up trenches of sand, digging like playful fingers through the dirt toward the Sealer. Without moving his body, Yōsei continued forward, projecting his chakra into the air and causing the symbols of his work to spring forth, hissing with indignation at the invasive, threatening chakra and then swallowing it whole with brilliant spectacle. From right to left, the Oath came heavenward to rend the man in two but met again with air as the blade disturbed naught but dust while the Jonin spun away, thrusting himself across the sand with wind chakra at the very thought of engaging with Yōsei on close terms. The Sealer continued his pursuit, not struggling to chase down the bandit and conserve his chakra while the other shinobi did everything in his power to stave off the unstoppable fire shadow with whom he, unfortunately, found himself at odds.

Clapping together his hands, the Jonin would raise a massive amount of chakra, whipping the wind into a frenzy and causing the sand to rise in violent shafts. The windstorm housed within its gale the edges of blades, nearly invisible against the dusty expanse, which sliced at the air and threatened to cut the Sealer into ruin. Without breaking stride, Yōsei came upon the center of the tornado, which had become the epicenter for a sizable tornado with the Jonin at its core. Confident in his technique, the bandit drew a knife and moved forward to meet Yōsei with his protective, bladed field surrounding him. The single twitch of sacred formula would silence the storm, and out of nowhere, it would calm. Yōsei's fingers rose in a swift motion, dismissing the jutsu with a seal so dull he could have done it in his sleep.

With chakra supplies devoted entirely to defense, a new tactic had to be employed by the Rogue to survive, so he would leap backward, moving as fast as possible to avoid the Sealer's oncoming barrage. In the precious few moments between engagements, a hand seal was all the Jonin needed to make a hasty retreat, body infusing with swift chakra to explode away at extreme speeds and be free of this demonic samurai. The rush of the landscape came, familiar body flicker initiating but caught suddenly, fear overcoming the Jonin's eyes as the chakra faded and his body fell unceremoniously into the sand. In the distance, the sound of Tenjin's combat could be heard as far away echoes. The light faded from the sky quicker than anticipated, thin coils of orange luminance clinging to the wretched black skyline as the Rogue watched his killer approach. Black cloak fluttering out in abstract shapes gave Yōsei a horrific appearance while he rose the Oath high, black blade refusing to reflect the lingering brightness as it descended down.

"W-What monster are you-?"

The question stayed there for a moment, hung like vapor in the cooling desert air, but it would never be answered. Seisakata struck pure, and the Jonin was no more, body fading limp into the sand, blood lost in the creeping shadows of night. The Sealer turned on his heel, twisting the Odachi once to clean its edge and sheathing it. Under his breath, Yōsei muttered a prayer for the fallen who lay in the sands, hands shining gold as the Sealer wove a formula within them. This simple act would flash for a moment and then disperse, its secrets not known to any who may have observed, Yōsei did not speak of its function not did he think it, these lost scriptures with which he weighed down his heart would die with him. What the actions of these warriors had wreaked was awful carnage, a combination of greed and bloodlust, desperate attempts for survival in the wake of the Wind's collapse brought them here. Fate was with the Sealer again, guiding him through this battle as it had countless others.

Yōsei rose to a perch overlooking where Tenjin had been and spied the slain bandits surrounding his collapsed form. Keen eyes, still flowing free with chakra, picked out the boy's life force easily. The Sealer was pleased to have happened on this charge today, eager to discover what quest brought him to this forsaken landscape. Perhaps, if the boy were determined to learn, and could accept the knowledge of his own futility, Yōsei would consider taking him as a pupil for the brief moment in which their fates aligned. For now, he merely grinned beneath his mask and enjoyed the sunset.
