Titans collided clashed all around Inabayama, causing the sand to shift for miles around. Dragons, gods, and witches abound, there was little more to fear than this place here. The smell was one that was not familiar to any one the generations here, well not to most of them. Most of the ninja who fought in this battle had never witnessed the large scaled chaos the masked ninja who'd attacked the camp had caused. The ninja who fought around the two Kage-classed combatants grew up in an era of relative piece where they were taught to dance to a low, steady waltz. The masked man danced to a funky rhythm. It was a jazzy tune, that analyzed the tempo, timbre, and timing of the waltzers and disassembled it, creating a clever reprise that soaked up and absorbed the classic, same old piece giving layers of anger, nostalgia, confusion, and hatred. It captured the essence of the melody and gave it a response that challenged the very thought process of the status quo. That was the music as it was absorbed on the first listen. The smart and cowardly were wall flowers as this old school jam began to reverberate through the battlefield, and the titans who didn't have the time or luxury to be either smart or cowardly just had to jump on the dance floor and not step on each other's toes. It was the Ice Queen's ball and one false step would be the the end of everything. Yet somehow among the chaos of the clamoring Kage and Sannin scaled fights there were those little insects with the audacity to nip at the flesh of their betters. A little cicada flew into the fray, and thought he could do something, Yasu thought he, just maybe could set an example for other refugees to fight and to turn the tides of this battle.

Ogre's grip remained tight on the "blade" in his hand as he maintained his forward momentum. His chakra string that attached to Intern 2, the small boy that was cut as Intern 2 missed his initiating attack. The cut would rend him from shoulder to hip, causing the cloak to come of revealing the young boy's form an causing blood to spill from the wound. This first cut surprised him as he hadn't perceived the umbrella as a weapon until Kisei was mid swing. Truly the largest downside of using puppets when you were Yasubei's tier was that, everyone could quickly identify what you were doing and shut you down. At the end of Kisei's first swing Ogre would perform two actions that would be done simultaneous with one another. One would be to send the chakra strings which had been severed to follow intern 2 as he fell to the ground and reattaching to him while behind Kisei who was turning to face Ogre. The other action would be that Ogre would finish closing in on Kisei taking the hit to his chest as he'd reach down to attempt to firmly clasp onto Kisei's Vehicle taking the hit as payment for this action. If he were to latch on to Kisei's Pinwheel, he wouldn't be letting go. Ogre's left hand bending inhumanly at the shoulder joint to swing horizontally if he successfully grabbed the vehicle. The two's reaction time so similar that it would be difficult to stop midswing and midjutsu to answer the grab, or at least that was the plan.

Yasu wasn't quite done there though his tactic served two purposes:1) limit the mobility of his opponent, so he could take advantage of his greater numbers 2) be imposing enough that he would forget about Intern 2. As intern to began to reach the ground his unoccupied hand would absorb the impact of the fall in a way that most living, low rank ninja wouldn't for fear of a sprain. The absorbed energy would coil into his arm like a spring, and in coordination with Ogre's direction Intern 2 would spring off at his fastest at whatever direction Kisei was in or accelerating to. He would come after the umbrella swipe there was just no helping it. Intern 2 would still give it his 100% as he'd burst towards the small of the opposing ninja's back, taking into account the momentum of whichever way Ogre saw him dodge and striking there from Kisei's blind spot, and activating the Legendary Front Hand technique, which would launch Kisei up and over the bending down Ogre if the attack connected. All the technique required was contact with the target. Specifically a connected Front Hand, would launch the target 28 meters into the air and 21 meters past Ogre. If the maneuver was completely successful the group would follow underneath Kisei, Orge still holding onto the pinwheel, and they'd prepare for follow up. Yasu knew that if it were him in the air he'd use some aerial maneuver to change directions specifically his tonbutsu technique , so they kept that in mind as they followed. If it failed Ogre would swing again with his "sword", and maintain his grip on the vehicle

His opponent was fast indeed, however even then they couldn't keep pace with the speed of his jutsu. Additionally the breeze he had conjured had cut all the puppet strings he could guarantee that they would be down for at least a little while. Or so he thought, as he dashed backwards he caught sight of the corpse his first breeze had slashed before, up and running. Without a second thought he charged his umbrella with electricity and slashed at the pupprt strings. The electricity from the jutsu disbanding it.

However when he shot the the blast he didn't expect them to stay standing. Kisei panicked a bit when the massive man reached down and grabbed his pinwheel, he knew that it was a worst case scenario when he was placed in melee range without the use of his pinwheel. So when he was de-pinwheeled Kisei immedietly dashed backwards, a burst of wind aiding the Ushinatta's escape, placing five meters of distance between him and the hulking figure grasping his pinwheel.  However it was at this range he noticed something strange. Cracks, and scratches, with no blood. Kisei had heard of a technique employed by the Chikamatsu clan, as well as a good number of puppeteers from the Sunagakure, to hide within one's puppet. Functioning as a weapon and a piece of incredibly durable armor. It could be that, or the puppet master was hiding somewhere to let his puppet do the work.

Kisei sighed, only his pinwheel could possibly break through that puppet, and he didn't have that now. Well until then he'd just have to improvise. Kisei never thought that he would need to use this jutsu, but oh well.

Reaching into his pocket Kisei gripped three batteries, charging them raiton chakra. Meanwhile activating the Supernatural walking technique and combining it with his Art of Dissolution: Augment. A breeze of air flowed around him while the raiton in his hand ionized the batteries. Kisei ran forward, high pressure gulps of wind pushing him forward. As soon as he reached two meters he threw all three of the batteries straight at the giant puppet, like one would pitch a ball, his hand reaching down. One battery aimed at the head, one at the neck, and the other straight between the pectorals.

While here he took the advantage to reach down and attach puppet strings to his pinwheel, hooking his right leg in a leg backwards into a deadly spin, discharging massive currents of air. His umbrella hung out during the spin, allowing it to slap the puppet if it didn't let go, meanwhile the air would hopefully repel the puppeteer while the strings would allow him to keep hold of his pinwheel.

The wear was starting to manifest on Ogre, the wind-natured jutsu the strange swordsman used marred Ogre's flesh with a large gash that spread from shoulder to shoulder. While on a basic level Ogre was able to keep up with the ninja in front of him, he had way fewer tricks up his sleeve. As Kisei hopped back he caught yet another glimpse of his opponents repertoire. the array of produce, meats, grains, and spices lined up behind his opponent meant that no matter what dish he served him, his opponent would be able to create one that was a step better. Yasu had put his sweat and tears refining his simple tuna roll. He had kneaded the rice in preparation for this bout ahead of time, he selected what he viewed as a choice fish out of all of all the market had to offer, something tasty yet not difficult to prepare. By the time he'd set his plate though his opponent came at him with a conveyor belt that served sushi that'd he never dreamed of. As his teeth sank into his opponent's dish he was greeted by the light crunch as his incisors pierced through the seaweed and submerged it to the sticky yet fluffy rice beneath. It was when he reached the light buttery tuna in the middle that he realized he was outmatched. The choice fish that Yasu had to go out of his way to get Kisei just had in stock. Rich umami flavors seeped from his dish, while Yasu had to sweat to even imitate it, and the more he struggled the more he ruined the fish as his meal unfurled.

As Kisei jumped back, Ogre would mirror him leaping back to disengage over the two crimson cloaked bodies he'd brought into this fight. Kisei grabbed a few items from his hand the only issue would be how many he grabbed and what the angle of assault would be, with the main issue being the numbers with which he was being attacked. As Ogre watched Kisei pull back his arm he acknowledged that there was a small chance that this person was going to throw kunai at him, but now that his puppet strings technique had been disabled he had to be cautious as he reformed his strings within his chakra core. As a precaution the large puppet would lift up his sword into a defensive stance since he hadn't had enough time to inspect the damage done earlier to take note of how effective the wound from earlier had been on him. Since it didn't seem to be hindering him at the moment he would simply go on the defensive till he could assess the damage done. Ogre moved in tandem with Kisei's arm using the angle of his hand and elbow to determine the angle his sword should be in, and the second the projectiles began crackling with lightning Ogre regretted his decision. One of the batteries hit the hand guard of the "sword?" burning the flesh grafted onto Ogre's hands revealing puppet beneath just from the proximity while the other two shattered the blade leaving red hot shards lingering on the sand.

Ogre didn't have time to make any decisions about what to do next though, as Kisei quickly changed the direction he was accelerating in and began his assault moving in with a kick that Ogre would instinctively block with his sword. as the weapon took on the attack from Kisei the attack proved to be to much for it and it would crumble completely falling in large pieces to the sand beneath. Behind that was a large gust that Ogre would use to his advantage to aid in his retreat, the block and the retreat hopefully preventing kisei from regaining his vehicle. The jutsu itself launching Ogre ten meters away as he slid a bit in the sand to catch himself before falling to his knees, pinwheel firmly in his hands still, as Yasu's chakra core descended back into his main body, to prepare for an ejection.

Kisei’s plan didn’t work quite as expected. While he had succeeded in repelling his opponent their grip was much stronger than anticipated, and they managed to hold on despite the wind pressure. The ninja’s spin slowed down to a crawl, slow, drawn breaths puffing in and out. Eventually facing the puppet that had given him so much trouble. Meanwhile his primary target had managed to crawl away. Leaving Kisei to deal with this one lone puppeteer. Damn, he really was weak huh. Judging from this match alone, whoever he was dealing with wasn’t much stronger than Kisei himself was. If Kisei couldn’t hope to win against a relatively even match, then what hope did he have to beat the snake that devastated an entire village?

Well, he wasn’t going to lose today. Kisei resolved to himself.

His umbrella didn’t have quite the punch a jutsu did, but against a puppet who no doubt took a beating from his earlier attacks, it was more than enough. Only ten meters away, a massive target. This was going to be fun. With a snap of his wrists Kisei raised his umbrella and pointed straight at the massive pinwheel thief in front of him, and clicked. The weapon flashed with a blue light before spewing a single ball of energy straight at the puppet. The pinwheel was a strange weapon to use the first time, even if they knew how to wield weapons Chakra Tech is a whole different level so he could count on them being unable to use his pinwheel effectively, much less block a speedy attack like this one in the few seconds they had it in their hold. Regardless of whether or not the sphere connected the Ushinatta would pull out another battery and promptly begin to reload it, not taking his eyes off his opponent.

The young craftsman thought back to the day he first received that weapon, it had been the second gift from his brother, the first being his umbrella. He had been so excited, here he was, a tiny sixteen year old boy flinging around a weaponized garden tool. It truly is, a dear treasure. If his revenge will not be satisfied today then for certain he knew: He was getting that pinwheel back, over one dead body if he had to. As soon as he finished reloading he would re-aim at the target if they moved or a new target appeared before clicking again and firing another explosive round.

Verdandi

Verdandi moved past the battlefield to the further outskirts and flanks that were less involved with the frontlines. It had been quite an eventful day so far. Watching aunt Ayakashi go all out in a battle of giants. Being attacked by a huge snek like dragon that almost killed Verdandi on spot. Getting a sweet private moment with her cuddle butt Chigetsu on the mountain side in a scenic overlook onto the battlefield. Moving to the frontlines. Ultimately losing sight of her lovebird whom seemingly got himself involved with a pretty heated battle himself. Reaping through the frontlines. Eventually bumping into aunt Aya's giant tiger pet. Taking a ride on the monsters back with Avalanche at their side whilst reaping through the frontlines and tearing hundreds of men apart in the process. It was a good day. Losing her boy and almost getting killed put aside anyhow. She had to admit. Riding with Bái Hǔ was an experience she wouldn't forget all too soon. A legendary ranked creature teaming up with her on the front lines. A beautiful experience for sure. But Dandi left him to his own devices as, once the frontline leader had been taken out, she had become sort of useless seeing as his claws alone were ten times more efficient than Verdandi's arsenal of techniques. Avalanche followed her however. The trusty polar bear cuddling his head to Verd's palm. Seemingly welcoming to get a bit away from the front lines. Verd could hear a fight not far from her.

She would crawl into cover behind the next best bush, shrubbery, sand dune or whatever would present itself to her. Peeking out to glare down into the valley below. Seeing a determined, umbrella wielding boy going nuts on a rather oddly shaped guy. It was a bit unclear to Verdandi's eyes. She was too far away. Verd could see how Avalanche slowly mimicked her behaviour and stayed low. She would move further forward. From one dune to the next. Making sure that, for now she would not be seen just yet. Unless one of these guys had sharper eyes than she did. Which… if contemplated further was absolutely possible. Verd shook her head. She wasn't here to worry too much. But just as uncle deamon used to say. First watch, learn, then stab them where it will certainly hurt most. He usually meant a nasty spot but that was detail.

The massive puppet was barely held together, and despite its tempered shell, it had rapidly begun its descent into imitating the bodies of the shinobi which littered the scene encompassing the two craftsmen. Yasu as always had enjoyed his time as Ogre, but, as his core squirmed into his main body, he felt more at home and at ease. The kneeling Yasubei watched through Ogre's eyes as the ninja in front of him began to slow and end his rotational jutsu. Labored breaths briefly exiting his opponent's mouth Yasu, for a moment felt pity for the life of the ninja in front of him, though he was doubtlessly sturdier than Yasu himself was, he had all of the other weaknesses associated with having a body. Yasu began preparing the chakra necessary to close in on his opponent, when he noticed through Ogre's eye's that the boy was already preparing the next stage of his offense. The exhaustion that Yasu had assumed would hinder the boy, seemed to just be a slight recoil triggered by the jutsu he'd just used. Yasu couldn't let his focus wane like that anymore he'd have to stay sharp if he wanted to come out of this bought alive. He had to convert this ninja. He simply couldn't afford to lose.

As his resolve was beginning to strengthen he saw Kisei raise his umbrella to point it at him, and projected over him almost like a genjutsu was a brunette kunoichi raising her hand in sync with Kisei, a coin pressed firmly between her index finger and thumb. He'd very rarely felt many things in his life, but in this moment he felt a deep and intense fear as it had to be a jutsu just like hers. He loved Ogre. It was the first thing he'd truly made, and he wasn't going to let him be destroyed here. Quickly Yasu's life energy flared through his puppet body, "Myself", and raced to surge through Ogre before the blue ball of chakra came at him faster than his eyes could easily keep up with the chakra wrapped itself around Ogre as the ball impacted his forehead it expanded rapidly pushing the puppet back as it seared the psuedo-flesh around Ogre's chassis mostly removing patches of skin on the upper half of Ogre's chest and face. The rapid expansion of the umbrella launched Ogre back flipping him feet over head into the air as his body rotated with little control. As Ogre was upside down and facing away from Kisei the pinwheel flying back as well Yasubei activated his Tonbutsu. An orangish-red aura flared around Ogre and a second one burst out of Ogre's back. Kisei's assumption had proven correct. The real Yasu hid inside a puppet body.

The jutsu that initiated the aura launched Yasu at 25 m/s directly beside of Kisei. Yasu landed within a half of a meter of Kisei, and upon stopping began leaning forward in preparation to slam his hand into Kisei's chest. Beautiful black locks whipped in the air as the shinobi's heavy hair fought valiantly against the air pressure created as he landed. " What beef could you possibly have against this broke down, beat up pile of sand." There was no hesitation between him landing and attacking his enemy. Yasubei's dull eyes were tinted with contempt at the ninja that saw it suitable to step on the land that he called home and had the audacity to seek it for themselves. Yasu launched his palm at Kisei as he spat the vitriol from his mouth like it was poison. If he hit he would expel a relatively large amount of chakra into the hip of the ninja before him that would hopefully send a controlled blast into Kisei's chest. A blow that might surprise his foe as it launched him the full distance, but would leave little damage on him. Yasu would go into a defensive stance regardless of a hit or miss. He waited for another Bukijutsu technique hoping that the opponent he was fighting was a one trick pony as he'd used his two most powerful techniques.

Kisei

There was a blur racing towards Kisei right after the puppet man was sent flying. Taking advantage of his umbrella's positioning he flicked it open, and channeled chakra into the Oriental weapon. A flash of wind exploded from his umbrella upon the object's impact and it was sent flying backwards onto the sand. He paused for a moment before he realized that he was still alright. Kisei took the free moment to run forward past whatever was thrown to the floor, snapping the umbrella closed as he got closer to the pinwheel. When it was in sight he fell to his knees and rolled across the sand. As he rolled back up he snatched it up, leaning into a crotch before spinning on his heel to see what that thing that hit his umbrella before was.

It took him two moments to clearly zone in on them but what he saw surprised him. It was a young looking boy, raven hair and pale skin. He blinked a few times, just to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Kisei wasn't sure whether they were the real body or another puppet but he needed to be prepared.  Thrusting the pinwheel into the sand he shifted his attention to his umbrella, hands working to reload it with a battery from his jacket. Hands working mindlessly as his eyes kept watch, his body familiar with the mechanics of the weapon he built from the ground up, not even needing visual confirmation.

Kisei blinked the sweat from his left eye. His chakra reserves were dangerously low, more than half spent. Meanwhile his could assume his opponent was still around full strength in terms of chakra. That was the advantage of puppet masters, they don't need to spend so much chakra to be effective. Especially when they can out gun and out number you so easily. It's a challenge to just keep up with them even if you're a bit stronger than them. As the battles around the two item wielders raged on, they too, or at least Kisei, was giving it as much as they could.

Verdandi

Verdandi seemed to grasp the basic concept of the situation. However, much like herself the two of them seemed to experience a certain exhaustion from using a lot of energy. To be fair. Both of them did look like Sunaan people to Verdandi and hence were both potential enemies. Neither of them did seem to show an actual village-nin forehead protector. While the guy launching for umbrella boy had a much more specific, dark killing intent, either of them could be enemy forces to Verdandi. The whole situation would probably not have been so bad if there weren't three corpses in kiri uniform at the ground. Verdandi would sigh to herself that either of them could have done that, but one for sure, was a murderer or at least a defiler of corpses.

Verdandi glared at the people in question. Wondering if she could detect anything about them from simply their appearance. The large one didn't seem very human. Verdandi could swear to have seen patched up skin parts flapping from his face. Little stitches that indicated the rather disgusting possibilities upon why he potential had it like that. Either he had a very bad medic or he wasn't really that much of a human after all. The prospect of it being a puppet partly made of human flesh was something so utterly disgusting Verdandi hadn't even thought about it yet. Considering the possibility of it being some sort of summoned monster from the netherworld. Something she had seen before at the hands of her more demonic kin. Dao Clan. Supposedly some of the rather dark demon specialists were capable of calling real monsters into the plane of humans. Making any appearance such as this ogre-like being a quite acceptable view to Verdandi.

Verdandi started to move. Keeping low as far as possible. During her approach she would angle herself more away from the human and closer to the weird monster-like dude. It seemed somewhat more likely that a guy that appeared like he was here to fuck up your day had killed the kiri-nin. When umbrella boy landed a hit on the large guy it could have become obvious that 'ogre' was a puppet. But Verd didn't notice that detail just yet and moved further. When the large dude's body sprang open to propel someone else from within Verd was taken back. She had never seen someone being shot like a canon ball from someone else's belly. That was one rad move. Umbrella boy and the bombard guy were about to collide. Leaving a lot of space open for Verdandi to actually charge into the battlefield. However, since Verd didn't specifically know whom to see as friend or foe, she let Avalanche do the introductions. The polar bear would run at around 11 m/s towards the grim looking puppet thing with the certain intent to smash his head into its back. If the puppet master didn't move his monster, the bear would impact on 'ogre' with enough force to tear a hole in his side. Certainly, with a heavy knockback that would allow the white snow beast to keep it pinned for now.

Verdandi herself would remain at short distance to her bear buddy. Her body, or shadow probably visible now that Avalanche had announced their entrance. She was more in reactive mode. Her eyes mainly focused on that weird ass creature with the open belly. However, despite her specific attack on the monster. Verd did not show any intent to attack the seemingly human boys just yet. If Avalanche successfully managed to pin down 'ogre'. Verd would call out to the two that had just blown each other away from their potential impact. "Which one of you assholes is responsible for these three corpses?" she would shout out. Leaving the option of doubt within the air. If however ogre would fight back, or even offensively try to harm Avalanche, Verd wouldn't ask for such details, as for her, the first enemy to take down would be the one controlling that weird puppet.

Yasubei

Genin
In a step Yasu leapt from Ogre’s chakra wreathed body an orange streak moving acoss the the sand traced his path with his left foot as it cut a path for the rest of his body to follow. In a burst of speed uncommon for a genin Yasu raced to confront Kisei, the genin straining focus on his target as the jutsu reduced his sight to no more than the eye of a pin. The orange hued blur created a slight wake behind him, the sand rippling away from the path behind him like waves too weak to crest and foam. As his left foot planted in the ground again his right one would rapidly accelerated past it, creating the momentum necessary for his next strike to be effective. The radiation of warmly colored chakra a biproductive of Yasu’s poor chakra control, forced Yasu’s thick locks to dance wildly behind him. Each beautiful strand lashing at the wind as his left hand moved forward in canon with his right foot. Bare feet clenched sand as silica particle ground together until they cracked beneath the pressure.

“You’re witnessing the Legendary Jutsu:”

A laconic response was uttered quietly beneath the wild, cacophony that Yasu blared. As Yasu sped forward to deliver a violent blow unkowingly to the younger sibling of one of Sunagakure’s greatest craftsman, the displaced artisan displayed the prowess of his crafts. More subtly than Yasu could perceive, and far more subtly than he could react to Kisei unfurled his umbrella. A simple manuever that didn’t even require a lot of thought or movement on his part, and a reflex so intuitive it countered speed that the ninja probably otherwise would find himself unable to escape. Yasu could see the math in his head as his hand was, unknown to him, being intercepted: tilting the weird weapon to block the incoming attack would be pure luck as the ninja had but a moments notice; Without knowing which side Yasu was going to land on, how far he was going, or his body type it would be risky to commit to jumping out of the way; and if he would also obviously be awestricken when met with the sight of Yasu’s timelessly brilliant and utterly stunning hair. The counter was perfect, covering almost every angle of impact.

The umbrella expanded and slowly peaked into Yasu’s slowly expanding perceptive range his eyes going from a cold, distant scowl to a more impressed and surprised smile. The ninja grit down hard on his teeth, the pain or pressure another ninja might feel from this lost on him as this was simply a nervous tick Yasu neither could remember developing or notice. In this moment when a clever craftsman spat childish insults at a far more clever craftsman, the lesser of the two found hiself too entranced with the fight to perceive the rest of the battlefield not the apocalypse snake that brought tracked into his home, not the shadow of a recently awoken Thunder God as danced across the vast lands of Sunagakure with the Witch wreathed in ice, and certainly not the witch’s kin who crested over the hill with a Bear that hungrily charged at Yasu’s second successful puppet. The two ninja would make contact Yasu’s hand, wreathed in a chakra as warm as Suna’s sand in its cold night’s, firmly pressed against the umbrella, and for a microsecond nothing would happen as perfectly matched strengths clashed against one another. The chaos broke into its stride around the two ninja as a war seemed to be birthed right into the gaping maw battleground like two mice in a bear trap.

Wreathed in the same orange-red chakra that chaotically poured from its creator, Ogre lay on the ground face down after it landed from its spiraling descent from the Ushinatta’s alien assault. Though not severely damaged, the signs of wear, not just from this fight were apparent on his surface. The flesh that was still there showed signs of stitching and medical ninjutsu used to completely regrow damage from old fights, and notably there was a slight unrepairable nick on Ogre’s face from the chunin exams. Despite this as the too large for comfort polar bear, who was rather aptly named after a large body of rapidly moving, fluffy, white death, simply would be unable to nick the prone puppet. The tonjutsu used by its master was built for this express purpose. Leaving behind one’s favorite puppet to focus on another opponent was risky business, so rarely did Yasu do so without shrouding Ogre in his chakra. His own shroud being an accidental byproduct of this. Therefore as the massive creature rammed into Ogre the critter would find that the thin layer of chakra radiating off of the puppet would insulate the blow causing the puppet to be knocked down, but not receive even a scratch. That being said barring the jutsu that destroyed his “sword?” Ogre’s chassis and internal mechanisms had taken most of the battle without debilitating damage, so the tackle delivevered by the bear while dangerous wouldn’t have ended Ogre’s career. Prone and pinned the bear would be able to have its way with Ogre.

The two jutsu were silent at the instant of impact the added pressure of a rebutting force causing the sand to further crack beneath Yasu’s feet as the particles left slight abrasions on his skin.

“Front Hand!”

The words from his mouth lost in the thunderous pressure that would explode from the two justu in immediate successionto the initiation of the jutsus name.

The two jutsu’s would flair and, unlike Ogre’s cloak which was refined and enshrouded him like a casing, Yasu’s cloak was unrefined and billowed like loose cloth protecting him from nothing. As the jutsu’s clashed a pulse of sand blew past Yasu and then 5 meters past that as each grain of sand in the area succumbed to the clash between the two ninja. The concussive chakra fighting Yasu’s own before his slipped past it to attempt launch Kisei straight back 35 meters as Yasubei noticed his own form was, like the sand beginning to be launched back. It seemed the two jutsu had slipped through neither even so much as interacting with the other. The less clever craftsman was sent flying backwards hoping his opponent had nothing to counter his own knock back with. He’d tumble in a cloud of sand for just a moment as his finger dug into the ground to find enough purchase to right the ninja, as he’d been knocked straight back he’d find a familiar, little gift from one of the corpses he’d borrowed. As he reclaimed his balance Yasu used his momentum to flip once backwards before hopping further and further back towards Orge. Flick of his wrist and the little gift he’d picked would uncollapse into his reclaimed demon wind shuriken. It was only then as he was within three meters of Ogre he would the two newcomers encroaching on this fight between craftsmen. Realizing the bear’s presence only moments before landing near him as a side effect of a half glance back to locate Ogre.

Yasu had a moment to think though, and with that moment he decided to land his left foot the foot of the massive puppet and his right foot on the sand, while he reached into his kunai pouch with his empty right hand and grabbed the edge of a scroll that was secured out of sight unfurling it long enough to activate the sealing jutsu. A small investment of chakra and the massive figure would vanish beneath Avalanche hopefully knocking the creature off balance. Then Yasu would hear a voice from another entry to the fight.

"Which one of you assholes is responsible for these three corpses?"

Yasu would respond by using right foot to ground himself and his left to kick up sand into the eyes of the imposing bear. Collapsing the large shuriken in his hand back down into a single blade, he’d yo-yo the scroll back closed and use the momentum from his kick to somersault backwards alternating into little zig-zaging as he answered.

“Technically the umbrella ninja back there made the mess, but it was me who brought glassware to the zoo.”

The ninja only superficially acted as if Verdandi had his full attention. Now that he’d realized a threat could come from any angle he kept his senses open for more threats, especially Kisei.

“Front hand!” was the only thing Kisei had heard, before being sent flying back a full thirty five meters backwards across the sands of his country. His jutsu had reacted perfectly to the attack, however his opponent had a jutsu of their own that had not been blocked by the strength of his own technique. Kisei screamed out as he was trossled against the coarse sand with violent force until coming to a slow, and painful stop. On all fours he still retained his umbrella in his hand but now was even farther from his goal of retrieving his weapon. His mobility was still majorly cut short for the time being, and he had nothing to quickly bring himself back into the fight. However when he looked up he was greeted with a fairly strange surprise, a massive blot of white against the harsh desert orange. “Is that a.. Polar bear?” Kisei wondered aloud.

"Which one of you assholes is responsible for these three corpses?" A new voice responded.

“Technically the umbrella ninja back there made the mess, but it was me who brought glassware to the zoo.” the puppet master answered. The way they casually regarded those dead bodies was worrisome but the engineer didn't linger on the issue too long, this was a battle after all.

Kisei bit his lip. More people to complicate things. The newcomer didn’t seem all that mad at the weapons master but he couldn’t know their motive or if they would help him or fight him. Their polar bear and the way they asked about those corpses, they may be part of the kirigakure. Technically an enemy in the conflict as well, but right now it was more like the third party invaders against two villages so hopefully he wouldn’t have to fight that bear anytime soon…

Tightening his grip on the umbrella Kisei set a steady pace forward, looking to retrieve his pinwheel and rejoin the fight. He didn’t want to draw too much attention to himself with such a new person around, still unsure if they were ally or foe, so as he got up he ran around to the new person’s left side but keeping a distance from them in case they attacked. Reloading his umbrella as he ran. It would take him a few seconds to reach the trio but once he got there, he was ready to fight once more. Raising his umbrella to fire he then sprinted forward towards the last location of his pinwheel and slide down to reach for it. Throughout the entire time though he would keep wary of the other two, three, contenders in this fight for any changes or attacks directed at him.

Verdandi

Verdandi watched the monster poof beneath Avalanches paws. The big bear dropping with a thud to the ground. Watching the sand being tossed at him would leave the bear to shake his head. He had not planned to attack the boy yet as Ava's current command was but to pin down the monster that just vanished. But the bear didn't take kindly on having sand kicked in its face. Loudly it would roar its anger forth against the boy that was zig zag dancing around. The little umbrella boy seemed eternally passive at the whole thing. But since the sand throwing guy already sort of confirmed, in a yet utterly weird way of speech, to have the blame on this on him. Verd ought it be a good time to test him and his potential capabilities. Verd was still at some distance and easily out of harms way. She casted the Hyouton clone technique to raise a sudden ice blobb from the ground that quickly malformed its stature until it became human and finally mimicked Verdandi. The clone stared at Verd and then at the situation before unsheathing its ice born copy of Verdandi's Katana. Starting to run in a very direct path at the sand throwing guy. Meanwhile Avalanche would move a bit to the side. Obviously not in offensive but defensive stance. Keeping an eye on the smaller, more quiet boy. Verd herself eventually moved forward to check and examine the body of the 'Intern' closest to her.

While she seemed to keep herself busy with that while yet staying attentive at her surroundings. The Hyouton clone casually charged for the boy with the nasty hobby of keeping pet zombie pets around. Still wondering what that weird huge thing was Verd had just seen there. She wouldn't allow the situation to confuse her and tried to figure as much of the 'Interns' vital info as possible. Like potential time of death, cause of death, gender, age. Searching for a name tag or a battle tag on either of them.

The Hyouton clone, once enclosing battle, would use its C-3 ranked reflexes to potentially try and avoid incoming projectiles shot or tossed and or directed at its body. The clones movements easily at 15 m/s as it dashed for its target. Intending to hit the young enemy with her blade. Slicing once vertically against him and trying to kick her icy foot into his stomach and send him flying with. The kick, if hit could cause deeper bruising and tear into the targets skin. The blade if hit could potentially cause 2 inch cutting damage into the skin. If the clone would find itself under attack or enemy resistance, it'd calculate its chances on instinct to see if its natural reflexes would help it avoid the counter or if it was necessary to underline a defense against him with a jutsu. The Hyouton clone had, after all, access to all of Verdandi's ice techniques.

Meanwhile Avalanche and would keep an eye on the Umbrella boy. Either keeping him at bay and forcing him into a temporary spectator mode or leaving it open to the young man to attack the polar bear. Fletching its deadly teeth.

➕ Ice Release, Doppelganger Technique:

Name: Ice Release: Doppelganger Technique (Hyōton: Bunshin no Jutsu)
Origin: Library / Canon
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Element: Hyouton
Range: Clones cannot travel more than 50m away from the user.
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: Until destroyed or cancelled
Cooldown: 5
Chakra: 20
Description: The Ice Clone Jutsu is similar to the Shadow Clone Jutsu except it creates clones out of ice that have one-tenth of the original user's chakra - taken after the initial activation cost of this technique has been deducted. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves.

The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body without losing control. Like other clone techniques, if the ice clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal ice shards. Ice clones are capable of only using hyouton jutsu provided they have enough chakra to cast it. Regular jutsu cooldowns apply - if a technique is used by one clone, it cannot immediately be used by another clone.

A maximum of six clones may be created at any one time. The clone automatically disperses when it runs out of chakra, or when hit by any attack that can cause the equivalence of a B rank technique in physical damage [Internal bruising, 2-3 inch cuts, etc.] or a B-rank/2 C-Rank offensive jutsu.

The user may willingly disperse a clone - returning any chakra the clone has left to the user - but this can only be done under the condition that the clone is not under direct attack. Clones which have been dispersed by other means - ie. taking damage - do not return any chakra to the user.

Yasubei

avatar

Genin
As Yasubei's head slightly turned so he could follow Kisei's movements. He watched as the other craftsman's focus honed in once more on his weapon. Yasu hadn't noticed at first, but it seemed very possible that the only reason that the Kisei even came into conflict with him to begin with was because Yasubei, technically Ogre, was wielding his vehicle. His eyes darted back and forth between Kisei until Verdandi created a snow clone that spawned out of the sand itself. In that moment, Yasu realized his mistake, he’d underestimated her. Solid clone techniques were a class of jutsu that Yasu had seen only once at the end of the Chunin exams, and that technique seemed incredibly intimidating. He remembered a fire wielding ninja surrounding the opponent who won his quarterfinals match, and he remembered her producing jutsu from many different angles from each clone. For Verdandi to have that at her disposal and to choose to only create one out of an advanced element, Ice Release if Yasubei assumed she was from the same clan as the Demon Ice Witch, displayed that she was confident that she wasn't  worried about either Kisei or Yasubei.

The little ice clone dashed forward, it was strange to the puppeteer, He was certain that he was going back as fast as he could, but his senses were almost disoriented by The more powerful nin closing in, sword in hand. Seeing fully fledged powerful ninja move always disoriented Yasu. Despite the immortality granted to him by the one who made him into what he is today, he could train and train and train forever and never reach the results that this mere clone displayed. Like an arrow the clones seemed to slice through the air straight back towards Yasu, who seemed completely incapable of outmaneuvering her.

"Since he had no answer, I’ll ask you. Why are you here terrorizing our already broken down, beat up home?" The question was genuine, and it sounded like Yasu truly needed an answer to it to justify all the hurt that had happened in Kaze no Kuni. In what seemed like an eternity Yasu watched as the Ice nin clone swung upwards. Worse than that it seemed like three eternities passed as Yasu tried to intercept the blade with a raised right foot and also cover his face. In a fraction of the time it took Yasu to raise his foot and move his hands near his head, Ice Verdandi had already swung through cleaving her blade straight up she'd be able to feel it cut through leg, forearm and  sternum. Her vision would be slightly impaired though as in a poof of smoke, his cloak would vanish and the split-open flesh would begin to bleed through the newly formed holes in familiar Kiri-style equipment. A strained grunt escaped the transformed ninja's lips as a ninja was momentarily lifted centimeters off of the ground by the strike of her mirror image. In the brief respite from peering eyes offered to him by the small cloud of smoke, Yasubei had transformed into the ninja before him using the multiple angles of her (the attacking her and the investigating her) and his knowledge of anatomy and physiology to create a close approximation of the ninja that sent the clone to harass him.

The technique was cheap and simply meant to create a momentary distraction in the smoke that was being cleared from the brute force of the ice clone's powerful swing, a weaker clone of her wielding an nearly identical sword blew a jet of water aimed at the clone's eye right eye, as the weaker clone accepted the mighty blow to the gut. As the water jet came out of pursed lips Yasubei uttered "Water Style: Gunshot" a thin stream of water flew at Ice Vernandi's eye in the time just after the sword swing simultaneously with the transformation, leaving his mods intact and as the kick was being initiated and delivered. As the kick made contact there was the slight crack as the foot would feel a little unexpected give from one of Puppet Verdandi's floating ribs. As Puppet Verdandi's eyes widened in pain she would shoot for the second eye unless she hadn't hit the the first one the first time, in which case she'd shoot again for the same eye using the water scalpel in small bursts instead of its intended stream. She held a single hand to her rib as she gritted her teeth almost as if to emphasize how painful the kick was.

Puppet Verdandi in her other hand held the Fuma Shuriken turned sword almost mirroring Ice Verdandi. Of course the injuries that Puppet Verdandi was feigning were fake as she had no real sense of pain, but she knew very intimately what pain was. She'd experienced it in genjutsu, witnessed it through the eyes of those who fell in Suna's destruction, and felt it for the people he couldn't save. She could see through these invading ninja here to make a name for themselves, intoxicating themselves in their own pontification. They picked scraps from the bones of the weakened, well destroyed, Suna and its people. It was her hope to show a mirror to these people so that maybe they could see that they were in the wrong.

Transformation Technique:
Name: Transformation Technique (変化の術 ~ Henge no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: Self.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: -5 every other post.
Cooldown: Duration +1 post.
Description: Given all the missions ninja are assigned to--battle, intelligence gathering, diversions--this is a priceless ninjutsu. It is typically used to change into people other than oneself, but one also has the ability to change into animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons; however, the object can be no smaller than 1 foot long in at least one dimension. Despite this, this technique has an abundance of uses. The transformation of a master of this technique (which is generally an Academy graduation requirement) makes the user physically and visually the same as the transformed person or object in question, giving the user the exact mass and physical qualities of whatever they transformed into. This is one of the most basic ninjutsu, as such most shinobi know how to perform it. This technique does not give a ninja the abilities or jutsu of a person they transform into, nor can give the user the damaging ability of a weapon (however, this can be used as a bluff). Sensory techniques can easily pick out someone transformed using this jutsu: the user's chakra would be active, as well as the fact that their biological functions and scent are not masked by this jutsu. Costs 5 chakra on activation, and an additional 5 chakra every other post after that.
-5 chakra transformed into Verdandi with some cuts
Items Used:
2/3 Charges:
Name: Water Scalpel
Type Of Weapon: High Pressure Water Hose/ Chassis mod
Rank: D
Elemental Alignment: None
Quantity: 1
Ability/Function: This weapon pulls from reserves of water stored within Yasubei’s chest in order to send out a thin string-like beam of water from either or both of his palms. Alternatively he can shoot the water from just his mouth. This concentrated stream of water can pierce up to 3/4 of an inch into flesh or (cut  if it is moving). The water blast out of Yasubei at a rate of up to 11 m/s to a maximum distance of 20 meters. This thin powerful stream of water can easily pierce through a single technique of E rank.

The liquid needed for this mod is stored in Yasubei’s “lungs” which can each hold 3 liters. At the start of the thread they each hold three liters of regular water. Each post that Yasubei uses this mod reduces his reserves by one liter per hose being used.

Alternatively Yasubei can expunge 3 liters of liquid out of his mouth for a single post at a rate of 15 m/s in a 4 m diameter, 4 m long cone that does nothing but soak the area and anything in it in the stored liquid.

The water used by this mod can either be replaced by ambient liquids in the environment by using either hand at a rate of one liter per hand per post, his mouth for three liters per post, or via jutsu. This can be done with simultaneously with any of the above abilities so long as one body part isn’t performing multiple jobs. (Ex: It isn’t possible to absorb and shoot with one hand, but such a feat could be performed with two.)
Appearance: When coming out of his mouth this weapon looks like a water jutsu’s being used. When coming out of his hands a small hole opens up in the center of them.
History: Water is a very versatile tool as easily displayed by this weapon.

Kisei

avatar

C-Rank
Kisei looked with distaste upon the Polar bear, it seemingly guarding the new comer. He didn't mind too much as it seemed that they were more interested in his opponent. Probably affiliated with the Kirigakure seeing their concern for the corpses and their use of a polar bear in combat. Kisei nodded to the polar bear before moving past the bear and closer towards the conflict happening between the puppeteer and, what seemed to be, another copy of that kunoichi he saw examining the corpses.

With a slide Kisei reclaimed his pinwheel with left hand. As soon as his grip wrapped around the pile he pushed off with his right leg in a spin, pinwheel held behind him while the Umbrella was stretched out to aim at the clone- and the clone. Kisei temporarily lowered his umbrella to more closely examine the situation going on.

It seemed that there were now, three, of the same ninja on the battlefield. What. The. Heck.

Now it was pretty obvious the one near the polar bear wasn't the puppeteer he was looking for. However between the two identical looking shinobi he couldn't tell them apart at all. One held a katana and the other a massive fuma shuriken. Kisei shifted his gaze between the two of them. Only a five meter distance from the shuriken wielding clone and the sword wielding one. He didn't want to end up dispelling the Kirigakure ninja's clone by accident, but if he could just get a shot, this fight could be over. That and they were close enough to each other to hit them both at once.

Kisei raised his umbrella once more and trained the tip to the look alikes. However...

Just as he was about to pull a trigger another one was pulled for him. Somehow the arid desert air around him shattered. There was no other way to describe it. The warm slow currents in the atmosphere were frozen solid and broken apart. The difference in temperature was like if winter had suddenly made an appearance in this most inhospitible land and decided to stay for a few years. It wasn't so much the temperature drop as much as the unnatural feeling of cold in such a scorching environment.

The chills it sent up his spine was all sorts of wrong, and I ended up affecting his aim. When Kisei clicked the trigger on his umbrella his muscles tensed in response to the cold shock. Pulling his aim a little bit higher than he intended. His umbrella charged with energy at the tips before discharging smoothly from a single point at the end. Instead of striking either of the two targets the sphere of explosive energy soared over both their heads, and perhaps even a bit past the polar bear, eventually exploding out on itself in a small burst of energy midair.

Kisei cursed the sudden energy that filled the air, disrupting his aim. If it weren't for that this battle would have been over by now. He was sure of it. However the one good thing his momentary distraction brought him, was that it made him look around at what was happening around him. It hadn't noticed it before but now there was no avoiding it. Countless dead bodies scattered the battlefield. Scorch marks, a broken terrain evident of Doton jutsu, broken and discarded items. But the worst thing had to be the thick scent blood. It was rusty, and a vile. War and their works had made a masterpiece of gore and horror with our bodies, our friends.. Kisei brought an arm to cover his nose and wretched his eyes closed.

In his mind's eye he could remember another time, when Alpha would come home late after being sent out by the caretakers. Covered in blood and tired. Kisei didn't understand it then, and not even now when he has worked as a shinobi. However looking out at the nightmare before him, he was beginning to understand what his brother must have went through. What he did. How he felt.. The kind of weight that sword of his held, the lives of dozens, hundreds? How did that feel when weighed on the edge of a blade you wield?

Suddenly Kisei felt, dirty.. He needed to end this fight before he lost the will to fight completely.

Verdandi

avatar

Verdandi casually walked past the corpses of the interns. Searching them and eventually collecting the dog tags she didn't pick up just yet. Verd was determined to focus her full attention at the witty puppeteer whom, despite his potentially lower rank was of genuine intelligence. A dangerous threat one could say. Someone that had to be eliminated in the eyes of the Kiri ambition. As the clone started to cut the puppeteer apart. Verd was once again surprised. Something seemed off with the flesh on the targets body. Something quite inhuman. He persisted. Any other person would have by now fainted as they were being chopped apart. Bleeding out. Dying. Asking or begging for mercy. But he did not. Instead he hissed at the Kiri-nin and expelled his blatant disgust to their presence. Verdandi felt triggered. SHE a terrorist? She had to put the dog tags away as she felt like crushing them in her palms. Starting to move towards the puppeteer. Verdandi's plan was never to really harm the guy with the ice clone. The clone was but a means to bring her Hyouton element in its purest form right in front of him. She saw him shoot his water guns at the clone. The damage wouldn't have necessarily dispersed it. But ironically the way he shot into the clones' eyes would rip the clones head off. But the clone's durability neither its seeing ability was really dependant on it having eyes. The clone was but a puppet of Verdandi's whim. Something a puppeteer surely could respect.

No, the Hyouton clone would eventually come closer and closer and sublimate itself as its frozen water turned liquid again and would aim to cling onto Yasubei's body. Starting to engulf his remaining limbs and chest. Slowly creeping up around him until the threat in Verdandi's eyes would eventually be but a frozen statue of himself. Verdandi was on her way to him as she spoke, unnerved by his claim. "Terrorizing you? I CAME HERE TO HELP YOU. I don't know where you people went wrong in this conflict. But Kirigakure has ventured into Suna to get rid of its criminals and offer refugee to those that were _already_ seeking shelter. I don't know about other villages. They aren't my responsibility. But don't you dare to offend me and call ME a terrorist. I haven't claimed a civilian life in my entire career." She would hiss at him with deep anger. Her eyes shining in a Hyouton glowing blue Hue. She could, for a moment just squish this murderer in her palm. A target under Ice Prison could be squashed to death by Ice Grave. That's what the combination was made for after all… to squish all enemy life that threatened the kiri effort. Safeguard the good, vanquish the evil. If it only would be so easy to call the world black and white for that matter.

Meanwhile. Umbrella boy wasn’t inactive in his own actions either. He tried to run for the target while the clone was still existent, charging probably within time as the clone slowly covered Yasubei's body in thick ice. Verdandi's speech would however get a sudden boost in epic effect as, just as her rage subsided, the whole earth seemed to rumble. The technique that was used somewhere in the distance. It unleashed an amount of chakra completely inhumane to any standards. The frosty feeling it exhaled. The way it seemed to make the air go thin and cold. Verdandi could feel goose bumps raise on her, legs trembling at the simple idea of what could have possibly brought her aunt to unleash such a chakra. Was she losing? Could that even be? While Verd was distracted. Umbrella boy had tried to fire his charge at the iced puppet boy. But the charge would miss, probably the chakra eruption might have brought him off balance. Avalanche however, felt triggered by the boy's offensive movements, as the load he shot from his umbrella went not far off Avalanche's head. The huge bear started to charge the boy. If he managed to catch up with him. The bear would pin down Kisei and gnaw away his teeth and claws offensively into his weapon and chest. Wounding him and keeping him pinned until Verd might decide what to do with him. At least that was what the bears instincts told him.

Verdandi herself had completely different plans. She stared at the puppet boy. His body looking deranged and broken beneath the frost after what the clone did to him. Maybe it was that. Maybe it was the irritating effect of him having transformed into Verd and she was basically staring at a mutilated version of herself. Maybe it was about to proof that she was indeed not the heartless killer or the terrorist he had called her out for. It didn't matter to him if this was but him trying to manipulate her or if he genuinely felt that way. Verdandi was done with this situation. She could only hope that, if the puppeteer escaped. He would re contemplate his actions. Having a man of his skills work for the good of the populous without the need to rely on slaughter. Maybe he could contribute to really rebuild his land. Verdandi was never against the recovery and raise of Suna. But hopefully if he ever dared to do so. He'd do it for the good of the civilians. For the sake of the people. For those without power to fend for themselves. Victims of Suna's political and economical crumble. That he would not be a puppet used by the nuke-nin's that only aimed to complete their own goals, using suna as but a means to justify their murder. Maybe he would be able to cut the strings off his back that made him but a tool of the real puppeteers' propaganda and someday become his own Master. Truly taking control of his shell and showing a spine that did not rely on false perceptions.

But that was just Verdandi's opinion. Maybe she was wrong. Who truly knew. What counted now is that Ayakashi was in need. Eventually hurt. In pain or danger. Verd needed to know and so she left. In hope that her powers that measured the size of a little bug in comparison to the kage, could at least be somewhat beneficial to sooth her suffering, the suffering she endured to defend the Kirigakure forward camp and to defend the refugees that decided to join a village. That decided this would benefit them more than to give into their pride and shame, starving to death in this broken nation and wait until eventually one of the Nuke-nin factions might come to feed them. Just to use it as a means to recruit them into their armies and turn them into blades to mess on a chess-game far larger than any of them would ever be. Dying for nuke-nin that never cared for them anyway.

This conflict. It had to end. Now. [EXIT from this Splinter. Verd is moving to another one for her final post.]

Yasubei

Genin
Puppet Verdandi had a foot firmly planted in her schest and as at least one of her lower ribs succame to the pressure, the kunoichi folded a bit inwards and was launched back and onto her ass like the children pushed aside by the panicking residents of the burned village fleeing their homes. The puppet not minding as the little bit of chakra holding it together loosened the tightness of its bonds. Puppet Vernandi's, eyes widened in panic becoming Yasubei's at the site of the headless ninja pressed on towards him. He'd no battle many times before, but never fear like this which shoke him enough to dispel his delicate transformation. The shape transformation, assisted by what Yasu assumed to be Yang chakra, began to dissolve into something more primal which lost no momentum seemed to have a much more devious purpose in mind. With the smallest of tugs, panicked but still controlled, Yasu unfurled the scroll in his hand once more, and Ogre still shrouded in his radiant aura appeared in front of him. Yasu reached out to his first ally with tattered puppet strings which had yet to finish repairing him. He willed him to stop the vile slush monster, but the Ogre sheathed in orange just began to fall to its knees as it had received no request do other wise as the slush monster enveloped the interposed target. and then in what seemed like an instant Ogre was encased in ice. The damage inside was apparent even before Ogre fell to the ground shattering as so many shards lost in the sand, and then for the first time Yasu felt a covetous grip grab something deep within him.

The battlefield seemed to almost visibly shake as dozens of ninja in the area shook in their boots. 'While not all ninja have a talent for sensing chakra dense, or powerful, or even specifically shaped chakra can have a tangible effect on the space it permeates through.' This was a lesson Yasubei learned, among many others, we he first awoke in this cold, indifferent place. Through intensive reading and exploration Yasu learned a few of the secrets of chakra, like it's ability to give life. The feeling of this chakra was lost on him. He never understood what someone meant when they said they could feel the chakra of another. Even as the magnificent burst of energy from a far off fight rattled the nearby ninja the tightness of his skin, the pointless subconscious swallowing of nonexistent saliva, and the unnecessary increased rate of breathing all went unnoticed by Yasubei as the great pressure of the beast was exposed to the world. The demon had once been sealed and trapped so deep in a glacier so massive and dense that in its release pure pressure released  from its conceptual yet all to real, intangible yet seismic presence warped and bent the battlefield it almost seemed as if all at once ninja began to retreat. Maybe there business had resolved or maybe there was something lying much deeper beneath that inspired them to reform in the safety of their own camps and homes. Regardless the battle seemed to be clearing.

He was in a dark and cold world, alone and before him he saw a smooth, icy, fogged surface. He'd visited this place before. He remembered being here before he'd been anywhere else. The strange rectangle before him had never been here before yet almost compelled by something deep inside of him he moved closer to it. Inside of it he saw something moving ever so slightly, but he couldn't make it out. He placed a hand on the mirror to remove the condensation before he quickly snatched it back. 'Cold.' He thought as the concept appeared in his brain as if delivered from some far off place as he'd never known cold. Yet again he placed his had to the obscured surface his hand feeling the pressure of the cold mirror as he cleared it. Inside of it he saw himself, or at least some tainted version of himself. The slightly more aged figure on the other side had skin clinging all too tightly to a rib cage the struggled to take in air, a gaping circular hole that mirrored the one Yasu's puppet body had to hold his chakra core, and hundreds of glistening metal strings that hooked themselves firmly to the back of the older one's flesh. "Oze, Yasubei," the voice would be the first one to ever speak that name to its young reflection. Grubby, knotted hair draped down to the floor before being parted by a face, as familiar as any other, that emerged from the long unmanaged locks. "Did it hurt that much to be me?" The words echoed in his mindscape.

Yasubei intended to become a reflection of the Kiri-nin, who'd he'd seen as a selfish invader here for fame, fortune, glory, bloodlust, and money. As the shards of Ogre shattered around him and the sharp lash of Verdandi's words cut at flesh untouched by time and pain, Yasu scrambled backwards, shaken by the ice-nin, who had completely and utterly proven her superiority over him. "Terrorizing you? I came here to help you! I don't know where you people went wrong in this conflict. But Kirigakure has ventured into Suna to get rid of its criminals and offer refugee to those that were already seeking shelter. I don't know about other villages. They aren't my responsibility. But don't you dare to offend me and call ME a terrorist. I haven't claimed a civilian life in my entire career." It was then that Yasu saw it that he'd finally felt it. While Yasubei had intended to become this woman's, this kunoichi's reflection, she in turn had become his. She stood there a ninja fighting for what she believed in, with comrades who'd done no different resting at her feet. Yasu showed Verdandi a mirror and she gazed into knowing who she was and what she stood for. She saw through the reflection and perceived nothing behind it except the same pontificated, puppet that Yasubei had tried to expose her as. Yasubei looked into this cold icy reflection and saw the glaciers that imposed themselves on Kirigakure, and the will that spared its home from the same trials Yasu's home was undergoing now.

For the first time now noticed he'd lost. It'd happened in a landscape more precious to him than any other. Yasubei made the mistake of losing in his own mind. Yasubei was a shinobi built to know no fear before any aggressor and no pain before an ninjutsu. His puppet well crafted bod was a tool forged to assist in the immortal struggles of the villages, but the Ryujin defeated him far before he'd ever stepped foot on this battlefield. he'd been guided into thinking that he'd be stopping oppressors to make way for a necessary evil, and he'd almost fallen, the Ryujin had almost won over his heart. Shame filled Yasu as Verdandi stared down at him. The were countless ninja around him that couldn't leave, and he saw them now for the first time as they were people fighting to protect there ideals, and murderers, and puppets that were walking down paths built for them by others. There was no black and white here at the battle that would come to be known as the Siege of Inabayama. He had no place on this graveyard enshrouded in wind. Yasubei's feet would find purchase in the sand. he'd leave now while he still understood the lesson that'd been etched into him. As the kunoichi left behind her own allies Yasubei looked down at the utterly destroyed Ogre resealing him within the scroll and then to Kisei before making his own departure from the  battle himself. Besides everything else one phrase kept resounding in Yasubei's head. "No. They weren't your responsibility. They were mine."

Kisei

C-Rank
Kisei looked on in shock as his intended target was saved, their massive puppet taking the punishment as it was engulfed in a shock of ice just as he clicked his umbrella. The same charge of up energy built up before shooting outward, the same explosion somewhere behind him freezing his limbs, clamping them together and pulling his aim higher than intended. He had listened quietly to the conversation going on between the two of them, not letting it affect his aim, however he hadn’t expected for such a strong effect of cold in this desert heat. No doubt, someone of the Kirigakure’s prestigious ‘Yuki’ clan was here. Aside from the obvious lady in front of him. No, this wasn’t her. If she were that powerful the puppeteer would have been ragdolled from the start. The thought of a ninja that power sent shivers down his spine. In the distance he heard his umbrella blast go off, a crackling clean explosion blasting the air apart. Insignificant compared to the warm chill now present throughout the battlefield, but apparent someone didn’t think so. Even with his terrible eyesight Kisei knew when a bear started to sprint towards him.

The Ushinatta engineer had to make a split second decision, to stay or to go. Kisei bit his lip as he looked to the scene around him. War and death plagued around him, the bodies of those not strong enough to survive littered around the battlefield as their better continued the fight in their place. The engineer recalled the Hokage’s words, ‘to return to him when he was stronger, so he would have a better understanding of the giants of this world.’ That absurd power he felt earlier, could that have been what Rippa was talking about? Either way he knew that if he continued to fight stalemates with the people he was was going to end up as one of those corpses on the ground. He simply wasn’t prepared for this level of combat, Kisei thought bitterly. All those hours of updating his equipment and devising new jutsu, when he himself wasn’t strong enough to use them properly. As much as it hurt his pride, he knew he couldn’t stay. He regarded the bear and their master with a nod of his head and a whispered ‘thank you’, turning to the puppet master who had given him such a bad time and given them a glare. Throwing his pinwheel on the ground and hopping on top of it, not caring for which end of the weapon was leading, as he channeled chakra into the steel. Suddenly he shot backwards, away from the two figures, looking out to them, unloaded umbrella in hand, looking out to see them slowly blend behind a sand dune he went over.

Once out of reach the Ushinatta reoriented himself so that he could see forward, riding his weapon like a mundane skateboard over the sands, weaving out of the path of fights still going on. The chill around him grew incrementally before dimming. Around him he could see patches of frost, probably launched from the blast zone of whatever dipped the temperature so low. Sudden leaps in temperature had an interesting effect in uncontrolled environments, that much was obvious. No ninja he had ever seen before was able to make such an impression on the world like that, even the destruction at the former Sunagakure took a while to develop into that kind of power. This was instantaneous.

His mind shifted back to the lady’s words on the Kirigakure’s goals. Since he was currently working with the Konohagakure, this wasn’t exactly new news to him, per se. However it still had a powerful effect. It reminded him of what his real duties were. Right then he had to fight because he was one of the first on the scene however as the battle went on he should have cleared out to allow the stronger forces to cover for him while he checked on the encampments to make sure they were safe, as the immediate threat would have been the massive army converging on the site of battle but they could still be in danger of attack. Kisei sighed quietly, he was such a bullheaded idiot. A smart, bullheaded idiot, but an idiot either way. So caught up in revenge and the thrill of combat, forgetting that he had a job to do. Right now he wasn’t strong, but he was fast, and he could defend a location. That was all he was needed for right now, and that’s what he was supposed to do. Maybe once he had more experience and trained more that would change, but that was later, this was his current situation.

Kisei came over an exceedingly large sand dune, the sight of the encampment largely undisturbed bringing a massive relief from his shoulders. But there were no people. However as he approached the encampment he noticed people starting to file out of the houses, recognizing him as one of the ninja currently on rotation for their camp. He sent them a tired smile to let me know they were alright for now. Even if the action hadn't completely died down the nations were handling things. They were relieved, and Kisei couldn't help be smile. Then fall right over off his pinwheel; the pinwheel shutting off thankfully as he disconnected from it. His wards stumbled nervously around him, probably worried he was dying he laughed them off. “It's fine, I'm just really exhausted.” he persuaded them. Kisei was about to get up himself but was hoisted up by all fours by a team of a few people into one of the houses, some people tentatively picking up his weapons lagging behind. Kisei laughing lightly at the whole thing.

As he was tucked into bed with a wet cloth on his head he wondered, "Hey, aren't I supposed to take care of you guys?"
