"Alright, so the other encampments are clear. That leaves just one more in this area." Kisei noted as he examined the last stop of his tour. He shrugged to himself before entering the small sandstone town.

Now this area was actually an outpost originally belonging to the Sunagakure however it was abandoned soon after the sand village's fall, though the structures still remained. Rediscovered soon after the Konohagakure decided to offer aid to the stranded citizens here, with his help as well as a few courtesy maps of some of the refugees back in the leafy forests of the fire country. It was almost impressive what they had done with the place. As he walked down the street the Ushinatta took notice of the repairs they had done to the buildings and a few new ones they made, staying true to the Sunagakure style at that. You had to admire their dedication.

Although it was probably less out of respect and more on the fact that the sand stone would blend better in the environment. Yeah, sounded about right.

The young Ushinatta blinked twice. A tall round faced brunette lady walked up to him, with something in her hands. Her eyes looking glancing down briefly to her clipboard before looking, slightly less down, at Kisei.

"You're Kisei Ushinatta right?" She asked quietly.

Kisei nodded, confused. "Yeah, how did you know, and why?" The lady beamed at his confirmation.

"Well we were told to watch out for ya since you would be checking our supplies or delivering them. Didn't give us a picture, for some reason, but they told us to watch out for a small boy carrying and umbrella and a giant pinwheel." She happily explained.

Kisei shrunk dejectedly. "Small..... Boy...?" After serving the leaf village as escort, refugee representative, and even an assistant in combat, they termed him; Small boy"? Clearly he needed to talk to Rippa about this. As determination swelled in the small boy so did a hint of guilt in the form of a light flush. Then again, recalling his recent escapade, perhaps it would be better to wait until his head was more clear before he opened that can of worms.

"Good to hear my presence won't be too much of a bother." Kisei half asked half said. "So explain the situation to me?"

Immedietly she launched into a detailed description of the number of people they had and how much of the food and water they consumed every day. They had a traveling chef from the Culinary Institute of Amegakure with them so food wasn't too much of a problem so water was primarily what they needed. The conversation drifted off to the supposedly 'divine' dinner that they cooked up yesterday but Kisei thankfully was able to subtly turn the conversation to bedding and clothing. "Well we do need more bandages. I mean we have every one fixed up from the last battle, but our storage is kinda low! Ya know?!" She gushed. Dear Rippa help me, your villagers are too eccentric.

Soon after construction supplies was covered the official business was just about done. However there was one last thing he needed, or rather, wanted, to do. Flipping his umbrella open and shading himself, Kisei brought himself to ask. "Take me to your leader."

"...Why?" She asked innocently.

Gosh dang it, this was supposed to be a lot cooler.

---

Kisei knocked on the door to the commander's room in the main 'command center'.  Really I was just a slightly more spacious house but they were ninja's, they made due.

However long it took for them to open the door, he'd wait. If it was reasonable. But when they did open it, Kisei was in for a surprise.  The figure was a tall, well built man, a few years older than him. A bit of scruff on his jaw but it didn't detract from his allure. 'Damnit.' was all Kisei thought to himself. Despite his raging emotions churning inside him Kisei kept a passive, yet vaguely interested face. Looking right into their eyes as he explained his situation.

"Hello there commander, hope I'm not interrupting anything important, if I am I apologise. However I'm here to..."

Something was strange, their shape looks. Familiar... That raven hair, this figure. It couldn't be could it? Kisei looked again, starting from the shoulders, comparing it to his own height. The measurements were about right. The Ushinatta tilted his head a bit, resting his hand ontop of his umbrella's hilt. It was an extremely long shot, but one that he should take.

Kisei gulped, speaking calmly. "You fought the snake woman who destroyed the Sunagakure, didn't you.." It was more of a question than a certain statement, but Kisei was hopeful. If his observation was right, well. That would be just perfect.

”What the…”

Dreary eyes laid upon a stack of paperwork several inches thick. His eyebrows knit together in a furrow as he gingerly approached, hesitant to acknowledge both their presence and their quantity so hastily. Takao had only just begun his approach toward the desk when the door swung open and a woman entered. The blank expression on her round face accompanied the fresh stack of papers in her arms, equal in size to the last, that she ferried toward the desk. He felt the urge to protest, but instead said nothing and watched helplessly as they joined the others.

Neither forsaking the title of Hokage nor venturing into the blighted lands of the Wind Country would save him from the dreaded pencil-pushing facets of leadership. Too defeated to contest, Takao reluctantly fell into the chair.

“I thought the desert would be the perfect place to escape this kinda stuff.” Takao said as his attention settled upon the woman.

“Paperwork is important, Hokage-sama. Konohagakure’s relief efforts are expansive, and we must keep things organized if we’re to be successful.” She responded.

“Mm.” Takao hummed, lifting the first sheet of many.

“Don’t call me Hokage.” The harshness in his monotone was unintentional as eyes black like coal shifted over the contents of the page. “...Please. Takao is just fine.” He added, flashing her a faint smile in an attempt to repair the blasé infelicity.

As Takao began to sort through the pages, he slowly reclined further and further into the chair. His gaze dulled and his eyes lost any semblance of shine as he fell into the monotony of the task. After twenty minutes or so, his attention shifted to the woman.

“So we’re low on medical supplies and rations… Where’s this-- uh… This Ushinatta kid? He’s meant to be coming by to check up on them, yeah?” Takao said, turning slightly to show the woman the page and gesture at the subject in question.

“I’m unsure. I can go see if he’s come through one of the check-ins if you’d like?” She said.

“Please do. Have him come here if you do find him. After Inabayama, I don’t want to leave us ill-supplied. Who knows if something like that will happen again.”

The pair shared a nod and the woman departed from the makeshift office, leaving Takao to resume chipping away the mound of paperwork. He mused that had he known that this was in store for him, he would have continued to operate covertly within the Land of Wind, rather than in official capacity. If nothing else, he was out of the blistering desert heat.

Thirty minutes had passed since the woman’s departure, and twenty since Takao had fallen asleep at the desk. Barely a fifth of the papers had been moved from one side of the desk to the other, indicating their completion or acknowledgment. To the omnipresent onlooker, it might have been apparent why Takao had forgone the Fire Shadow’s office so many years ago.

A knock on the door stirred him from slumber, and he sat up in post-slumber daze. A long yawn stretched his jaw as he stood and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

“Come in!” Takao called out to the knock. He walked to the front of the desk and leaned his weight against it. His arms folded against his chest and rested comfortably in the lazed position as Kisei opened the door and entered. Takao’s left hand briefly retreated from the folded position to give him a stationary wave in response to the greeting. He assumed that it was the Ushinatta he had requested, although the purpose of his presence lacked confirmation in favour of an inquiry about a woman.

“Snake woman that destroyed Sunagakure?” Takao parroted for confirmation, his freshly scarred eyebrow tilting upward in mild interest.

“Doesn’t ring a bell.” His hand rose to rub the edge of his jawline in thought.

“Unless you’re talking about the stretchy-arm-lady with bad villain monologues. Which… I suppose does make sense. All those snake-themed folks like to stretch themselves out for some reason.”

“Ahh, wait, I remember you. You’re the kid that was there, fighting the... uh… the puppet… kinda… thing.” Takao sniffed and rubbed just under his nose, attempting to detract from his ignorance of the event.

“Anyway, why do you ask?”

The Ushinatta was a bit disappointed when they said they didn't recall the  event- ignore the hot jawline! Ignore it! The angsty Ushinatta chanted to himself. Though his attention was diverted again when they began describing the snake, in detail. The bad monologue thing sounded rather accurate from what he could remember hearing anyway. He nodded approving. This was good! So he did have the right person.

Kisei grumbled quietly in his throat at this supposed 'great' leader's mention of the puppet master there. Resisting the urge to drag a hand down his face. The entire incident was a fiasco. Honestly. It reminded him just how weak he was. It was humiliating how long it took for him to break that thing. Kisei didn't think that they were looking for confirmation when then mentioned the puppet incident but nodded to acknowledge that he was the one fighting that puppet, thing.

As for why Kisei asked... Well he didn't quite know himself. He was hoping to come her and dissect just how close they were to the Hokage and how likely they  were aware of the identities of the trio responsible for his most recent home's destruction. While it seemed that they themselves we're not overly aware of their personas, that didn't mean he was finished here.

Kisei gave the tall man another once over. Taking in the miles of hard muscles and a few scars from what he could see. Ignoring his immediately instinct to pounce on to them, a difficult feat, he instead thought of how to explain this. "My name is Kisei Ushinatta, I am a Sunagakure refugee working with the Konohagakure in their future endeavors until such a time as I am no longer needed, die, have been incapacitated, or have been relocated for other reasons." He explained stiffly. Biting the inside of his lip to keep himself grounded.

"After I met with..." Kisei paused, hesitant to say their name. "The current Hokage." Good save. "I realized that, I'm kinda worthless outside of crafting, by your village's standards." He jostled the pinwheel strapped to his back for emphasis. "So, I've been looking, looking for someone to train me." Looking straight into Takao's eyes, he concluded this long introduction to himself. Taking a slow breath.

With a sudden strength inside his chest Kisei said, "Become my teacher, train me. I promise I will be more than worth the trouble." Laying his umbrella flat on the floor, he got on both knees, hands flat against the ground, forehead pressed to the dusty floor, and bowed to Takao. "I'm not accepting a, 'No', as an answer by the way, sir."

Takao’s head tilted slightly as he watched Kisei’s face work through the range of emotions in response to his comments. He seemed to have much more intimate knowledge on the would-be assailant of Kirigakure’s encampment at Inabayama Rock than Takao did, but found it largely irrelevant. Based off their very brief interactions, he hadn’t been impressed. Her penchant for incessantly running her mouth-- even to the point where his mocking had her try her monologue again, and she did-- and her lack of combat tact did not leave much of a lasting memory in his head. It was entertaining to think about, but ultimately forgettable.

His scarred eyebrow lifted at the introduction, and his arm unfolded in favour of loosely gripping the edges of the desk to further support his weight.

“Harsh.” He said with a faint exhale.

“Guess we’re all in that sort of position, more or less. It does seem like you’re just riding the edge of the village, though. Why don’t you just fully assimilate? Last I checked, we still adopted refugees.”

A sharp inhale inflated his lungs and puffed his chest out as he leaned back on the desk a bit. “Mm...Not really my business to ask, anyway.”

Kisei continued and brought up the prospect of training. It piqued Takao’s curiousity, but he let him finish in favour of interrupting. It ended with him kneeling on the floor, bowing in Takao’s direction in a manner that dulled the raven-haired shinobi’s expression, and declaring that his request to be trained was not one that could be denied. Takao remained silent for a moment and let Kisei stew, if only for his own entertainment before he responded.

“I like persistence,” Takao said with a snap as he pushed up off the desk and walked over to Kisei. As he walked past, he lightly flicked the pinwheel on his back and snickered to himself, before pausing at the door.

“Plus I’ll take any excuse to get out of this office. Let’s go.”

Outside of the office and at the far northwestern end of the camp, Takao had found an unoccupied area designated for basic training. It would work as the starting point for the training, providing the pair with a stage to begin. Sandbags created a wall along the perimeter of the camp, while the “sparring arena” itself was rectangular and shape, lined with small stones that created boundaries and outlines. With the bright sun’s unrelenting heat bearing down upon them, it was far from ideal, but adequate all the same.

“Alright, so. Let’s narrow down exactly what we’re gonna do here. I got your name, got your reasons, but I’m missing what you can do now, what you want to be able to do, and what drives you.” Takao said, resting his hands on his hips.

“The last one is important. If you can’t think of anything yet, don’t worry. It’s not something you can’t learn without and a lot of people tend to figure it out later on, but eventually, you’ll reach a wall you can’t overcome without it. Drive is important, it can be something you want to accomplish, somebody you want to keep safe… Anything. So, let’s hear it.”

The silence was unnerving but it didn't shake his resolve. A moment, maybe two, passed and Kisei was given an answer. He heard the man push off the desk before moving towards the door. Saying they would take any opportunity to leave the office. Kisei slowly got to his feet, watching the fading figure of his, hopefully, teacher, and he shrugged to himself; fully understanding the want to dodge paperwork. He did run a shop after all. With a quick pat on his dusted pants Kisei followed behind the man.

---

Kisei and his newfound partner had located themselves somewhere north of the camp at an empty, relatively, area. Ideal for drills or private training Kisei would guess though he suppose they could do kareoke here for all he knew, it was empty.

A number of assorted objects worked to set the perimeter, Kisei swiped his head side to side a couple times around. His one functional eye taking in the locations of each as he ingrained the mental map in his mind to memory. He would have spent more time on the task however his instructor did not waste much time.

They launched into a small lecture on goals, current abilities and self growth, essentially. Kisei paid close attention to how they spoke and there was something different there. Sure he was an imposing figure, but there was charisma, maybe. They were confident in that way leaders were. It reminded Kisei of his discussion with Rippa. Distant, but close. Strangely.

Their prompts were thought provoking. What could he do now? That was simple. "By nature my people, the Ushinatta, are Craftsmen." With a loose grip on the hilt he flung the umbrella into the air where it spun circles over itself. At the same time his left hand reached for the pinwheel's hilt behind him, tightly yanking it free from its cloth bindings. In his right he caught the umbrella's hilt. His two main weapons now out and present. "These two are my main items, and my third is resting quietly in my pocket." He tapped his right inner pocket with the hilt of the umbrella. "I would bring it out, but I have only so many hands." He shrugged. Slightly nervous to be explaining all this.

Kisei flipped his umbrella, and stabbed the point into the ground. Leaning on the metal support. "What I want to be able to do..." That was a lot more personal.

"Well, it's simple. I want to become strong. Stronger than you, than Rippa. Powerful enough to stand amongst the greats of this new world." He pointed around the entire camp with his pinwheel, gesturing to the whole area around the two of them. "Strong enough to not lose yet another home to crazy fanatics and zealots." His voice was a steel calm. Eyes untelling of what terrors they saw.

The last one though. That was tough. When he was still happily living in the Sunagakure, a tiny would be ninja making friends, and nursing wounds from giant poisonous scorpion attacks, his drive was rediscovering the otherworldly technology of his world. It was like his inheritance, his right. Then things went south, the village burned down, he traveled to the hidden cloud village for the exams, only to be beaten utterly in the first round. His inferiority in this world on live entertainment, and on recordings for future generations. All these experiences...

He had lost himself.

His drive to become stronger was crushed. Kisei still wished to improve, but it was like a weight was breaking him. Life was beginning to seem meaningless to him. Thousands of years of hard work and intellect, thrown out the window before some asshole decided it wasn't good enough. That it was better to destroy the entire slate than simply fix the mistake. To him, getting stronger was like an impossible dream.

"I.. think that I lost my drive. Before, I still wanted to become a strong ninja. I could remember imagining standing proudly with my friends, each masters of their own fields." Roy would be with his family. Making a name for himself amongst a family of prodigies and geniuses, Rapheal would stand next to him, a close friend and powerful ninja. Then Kisei himself, right in-between them. The same old umbrella and the same brilliant, cocky ass smile.

"But, now, it's like I'm looking into an empty room. No where to go, and nothing to aim for." He bit the inside of his lip pensively. It didn't fully capture it, but this was a close analogy.

Takao’s hands rested on his hips as Kisei offered his answer to the raven-haired shinobi’s inquiry about drive. It was an answer he was expecting, and not a very uncommon response as well, but his own reply needed to be careful. The ember of inspiration needed to be nurtured; a breath too strong would extinguish it, whilst a breath too weak would do nothing to bolster it. His words might be that breath to Kisei’s ember, and thus he tread carefully moving forward.

“Seems to me like you still have your drive.” Takao said, allowing his hands to drop to his side. Motivational talks were hardly his forté, but they were an important aspect to the mentoring process. He did not believe in tearing somebody down to rebuild them, as was the typical military mindset.

“You don’t want to lose your home. If you’ll excuse my analysis, you want to protect yourself, your friends, and maybe even the people around you. The desire to protect and save isn’t necessarily an uncommon one, but it can quickly grow perverted and twisted. It’s important to keep your intentions grounded and noble, otherwise you become the zealots you’re trying to fight back against.” Takao continued, drawing from his own personal experience. There was a quote about staring into the abyss that he could have made, or equated it to refraining from becoming the monster one fought, but he believed that the point was articulated well enough without established analogies.

“Sometimes no drive isn’t a bad thing. You have a blank canvas now, and you can fill it however you want, or however you feel is right. My best advice is to go with the flow. Be like water, and let the current of life take you where it wills.” It was an odd philosophy, or at least he believed that it was. He could remember countless times where he felt like he was staring at a blank sheet of paper, having just finished writing the last chapter yet having no idea how to go forward with the story of his life. Not too long ago, he had let go of the mindset that kept him trying to guess what to do next, and merely let life’s will move him forward.

“But, ultimately, you don’t need drive to get better. You need drive to reach your potential, but you haven’t reached that wall yet. You still have to run the rest of the course-- so, that brings us to lesson one! Art, not science.” Takao spoke as he moved toward the opposite half of the small arena. He drew a circle approximately two and a half meters in diameter and stood at the center, facing Kisei.

“War is art, not science. When you fight, I want you to imagine you’re painting a picture, not baking a cake. Each one of your attacks and movements are a stroke of the brush on a canvas, not the next ingredient in a pre-planned formula that somebody a hundred years ago made. There is no right or wrong way to fight, only good and bad ways-- and the best way to learn that is through drilling it over and over again, until your body is so accustomed to the heat of battle that you act on instinct.” While Takao continued his explanation, he began preparations ahead of time for the lesson. His hands gripped the hem of his shirt and pulled it over his torso, discretely charging it with chakra as the fabric slid over his form. He tossed the fabric over his shoulder and retrieved a pair of gloves that hung from his belt, and pulled them onto his hands before raising his fists and shifting his feet apart.

“I want you to attack me with everything you have. Your goal is to remove me from this circle by whatever means you have available to you. Techniques, weapons, or even close quarters combat. I won’t throw any attacks myself, my actions will be purely defensive. I can only move up and down as long as I’m within the circle, I can’t move beyond it, and I won’t throw any attacks myself. I’m purely on the defensive here.” In typical fashion, Takao’s hands moved with his words, gesturing and pointing when he felt it necessary to accentuate whatever he was saying. When he was through, his body effortlessly fell back into the same position. Beads of sweat began to form on his forehead and shoulders from the heat, yet he seemed largely unbothered by it at present.

“At your leisure.” Takao said, raising his right arm toward Kisei to lead his stance.

Takao's answer surprised Kisei. The way he described  the Ushinatta, well.. Kisei could've done without the cliche "Protect everyone" hero thing, but, putting it into words; it wasn't bad. No matter how he tried to look at it Kisei was always brought bad to square one.

Though he didn't know what do to with that advice quite yet he was thankful that his instructor gave it to him.

As his intstructor moved on explained his views on war he started to strip as well- oh God save me. Kisei's eyes expanded marginally at the man before him. His grip tightened on the hilt of his umbrella, trying to restrain himself. Relaxing.

'It's just a man, a half naked man- he's reaching for his pants!' Kisei screamed internally, he wasn't prepared! 'Oh, oh thank goodness; he was just reaching for the gloves.. which were covering those godly V-hips! This is how intellect and rationality die, with hot men. Curse teenage like libido, why can't it come later, when I'm like twenty or something?'

After they had readied themselves the exercise the two of them were going to do was exaplained. It seemed simple enough, attack, they defend. His amorous side was suppressed, partially as the more analytical side of him began breaking down possible means of attack. Kisei jostled the pinwheel on his back, verifying it's existence. His instructor gestured for him to start. He nodded. With his free hand he reached for the scroll holding his most recent creation, but paused before he could slip a hand into his pocket. He was tempted to bring it out. But his technique with his umbrella and pinwheel.. it was sloppy. They did say to give it everything- yeah remember how well that goes? With that Karisuma, and Ryo? Yeah, neither went well. It would be better to at least get an idea of what he was dealing with.

He charged his umbrella with chakra as the pinwheel in got into position. His hand sliding southward to twist the mechainism, and with a low whine the machine came to life, spinning with deadly purpose.

His eyes locked on to his instructor's muscular frame and his brain froze. Kisei felt something warm crawl up his throat and coughed the red substance on the back of his hand. "B-blood?" Kisei blushed. "I had a feeling you were strong but I wasn't expecting something like this." The Ushinatta chuckled, ignoring the real reason he was coughing up blood, taking a stance, slowly sliding his left foot forward. "Still, I won't let a little thing like this discourage me!"

Kisei leaned his whole body into the attack. Leading with his left leg Kisei twisted his shoulders, his elbow bent as he cast the pinwheel in a massive loop.

The pinwheel circled around in a semi circle from Kisei's side, expanding out to his left as he swung it. It's wheel passed Takao as it expanded to its full distance, leaving the wire to inflict the damage.

If it did make contact with Takao Kisei would channel the weapon with electricity, the energy sparking down the wire before flooding Takao with an electric shock through his whole body. If he didn't make contact at all however Kisei would whip it around for a second spin as his hand reaching around for the umbrella's hilt, attaching some puppet strings to it; flinging it at his teacher before the pinwheel made another full revolution. Forcing them to dodge or block one, while leaving them exposed to the other.

The analytical mind of any shinobi was sharp and fast, allowing them to determine things like distance and speed from mere glances. Even the greenest members of the ninja military boasted some level of skill in the basic process of analysis. His black eyes narrowed in on the umbrella briefly, then switched to the pinwheel as it revved up and began its rapid revolutions. Takao had utilized that extensively honed analytical mind of his and decided that allowing himself to be hit by the latter would be unpleasant, and perhaps not the best of ideas.

His scarred eyebrow rose at the appearance of blood being coughed up, and attributed it to be some sort of illness that were certainly not uncommon in their line of work. A smirk grew on his face when Kisei proclaimed that it would be of no hindrance, and Takao offered him a single nod.

Takao acted as soon as Kisei leaned his body in for the attack. The breath in his lungs found chakra flooding it and moulding it into three spheres. The spheres were shot from his hand to his mouth, and then jettisoned from his hand into the sands between Kisei and Takao. Plumes of sand arose between them, clouding one another’s view as the pinwheel was swung around. Whilst in-flight, Takao’s hands rose and he performed a flawless trifecta of seals, then lifted the arm on the side of the incoming pinwheel. Waves of chakra leaked from his skin, starting at his arm, and quickly hardened into jet-black scales. His other arm took the shirt draped over his shoulder and tossed it up above the circle with enough force to keep it airborne for a moment or two.

The wire of the pinwheel made contact with Takao’s arm, however no damage was inferred onto the raven-haired shinobi. The scales on his arm defended from both the cuts and the shock, although Takao could feel the slight tingle of electricity arc across the various scales that coated his arm. Takao swung his arm up and over his head with the wire still making contact, allowing it to wrap around the limb without also wrapping around his body and restricting him. His hand lurched forward and gripped the wire just as the geysers of sand were beginning to settle, and yanked hard at the wire, aiming to pull Kisei into him.

“Not too bad!” Takao called out through the falling sands.

“Atypical patterns of attack are good ways to initiate, they can force your opponent into disadvantageous situations, and manipulating the flow of battle is paramount to victory.”

This technique is very fast and powerful, travelling at 15 m/s in the direction it is shot at. A direct blow to the head will cause a Grade 1 concussion and daze the victim, reducing their movement speed by one rank tier for 2 posts. Impact with other sections of the body can cause major external bruising, as well as shredding the skin of the affected surface, coating it with countless tiny, 1/2 inch deep cuts. Upon activation, only a single sphere is made. Additional spheres can be made at a cost of -5 chakra each, with a maximum of two additional spheres. Each sphere must be breathed into the palm of the user's hand and then tossed. However, additional spheres are only at half power, and must both be used in order to achieve the same effects as the first sphere.

As he flung his pinwheel into motion Kisei’s eyes widened at the rapid blast of spheres launched towards him. Without sacrificing too much accuracy in his swing Kisei reached with his right hand for the hilt of his umbrella, and brought it in front of him, opening it up to block. If the distance between them were shorter Kisei would not have been able to do so, but with fifteen meters between the two of them he had just enough time to bring it forward. The Ushinatta winced when he felt the ground under him shake with the impact from his partner’s jutsu, noting that it didn’t strike him directly. Their main purpose seemed to be to cause a diversion-

Kisei yelped as he felt himself get yanked towards his still spinning pinwheel. Subconsciously he tried to flick the switch of his pinwheel off as he flew, a few close counters with the dangerous weapon reinforcing the habit though with the force of the pull against his puny muscles what was probably a weak force to his sparring partner ended up spraining his entire left arm. In his pain he dropped the umbrella and clamped onto the pole even harder, unable to let go. Kisei shut his eyes as he was pulled through the sand sprinkled air, eventually hitting his head against something really, really hard. The spike of fresh pain finally allowing him to let go of the pole to his pinwheel. The significantly lighter object slinking down the line and reattaching itself, as far as it would allow, to the wheel, as well as the electricity short circuiting as it died down.

“Ow, GOD! That hurts!” He growled. The pain in his arm and his head was disorientating, it felt like oily spirals were taking a lazy river ride through his brain. Kisei brought his right hand to push himself off whatever he hit himself on. “That’s… strange..” The Ushinatta, still not quite in control of his faculties, probed a bit more than he should have. This was round, a bit squishy, but also hardened on… Oh dear..... The young adult pulled his head back to properly see what he was examining. Kisei gave it another squeeze before the truth dawned on him; it turned out to be his partner’s bare left pectoral, and why was he still groping it!?.

Kisei immediately flushed blood red as a closed mouth scream quietly went off inside his jaw. “Well, that happened.” Kisei sweated awkwardly. While embarrassed, a small part of him thought to take advantage of this situation. With his right hand he quickly reached for his open pocket and ripped out a single scroll before slamming it against the flat surface of Takao’s back, channeling chakra into the parchment before a massive amount of smoke engulfed the two of them. Kisei knew this particular machine inside and out, and wasted no time with the fan fair. Attaching puppet strings with his right hand to the skeletal puppet before grabbing the belt loops on Takao’s right hip as he pulled tight against the man. With subtle signals from his right hand he directed it to pull the two of them out of the small ring the man had constructed. ‘Just two meters and a foot step, that’s all you have to do!’ He begged wordlessly to his machine. Preparing in a worst case scenario he channeled more chakra into the object through his puppet strings, but for now he had nothing but the strength of his machinery and a bit of hope.

*Note: I have everything except the Chakra Emitter Wave Blaster due to not having trained it yet.

Name: Guardian: Anti Singular Target Eradication Repulsor
Rank: B
Primary Use: Offense
Description: The Guardian Anti Single Target Eradication Repulsor, (but simply Guardian for short), is a modified take on the originals Kisei saw in his home world. Those had more strobes, maws, teeth and eyes but Kisei thought that was too... Extra.. so he streamlined the look. The Guardian consists of a skull of some type of aninal, a massive maw holding tweleve teeth up and tweleve teeth down, with horn like protrusions on either side. On top of the head of the Guardian are three horns. Two on either side and on straight down the middle, although the middle horn is mostly just pointed like that. It was also designed to mostly be hollow, meaning that, like a normal skull it has a cavity in the back.

Making it impossible to detect with sight or sound while this ability is active. It takes A-0 perception or B-rank sensory jutsu to locate this puppet while stealthed. Kisei can turn off and one this function at will. Additionally because of this puppet 's strange shape, any who are able to hide inside of it, within the space of the cranial cavity, will benefit from being hidden by this mod. The chains are capable of moving at any length so long as these chains don't move out of a fifteen meter radius around the puppet. These chains can move at 30m/s. Lastly, this mod also benefits from any of the other mods equipped to this puppet such as the Aegis Ward Mod. It takes B-2 strength to break out of it in one post and B-3 strength or higher to break out of within the same post. Those below B-1 strength are unable to break out of these chains.
Appearance: Thin flexible chains, lined with blue pulsing lines that seem alive with energy.

Weapons:

Name: Umbrella Type Beta - “Radial Straight”
Type Of Weapon: Umbrella Chakra Emitter - Requires Onojutsu
Rank: B
Elemental Alignment: Non-Applicable
Quantity: 1
Ability/Function: This umbrella may seem normal at first however upon closer inspection you’ll notice a few things. The material that covers the ribs of the umbrella isn’t plastic but instead a set of flexible triangular metallic sheets. When closed the umbrella behaves similar to a thrusting weapon which serves to impale opponents, piercing 4 inches into unprotected flesh. Its structure being supported by the diamond/plum-bob shaped tip on the end of the main support tube.

When completely extended it acts as a make-shift shield with a diameter of two meters, when closed however the diameter, (near the bottom), is only about half a meter and the middle being a quarter of a meter. At all times the length stays the same, (1.22 meters/4 feet). Its chakra tech activation ‘switch’ is a pull trigger located on the bottom of the umbrella.
As an ushinatta weapon, this weapon can take one chakra tech mod.
Appearance:  The ribs ate triangular and metallic, giving a dark sheen under light. The top notch and open cap are replaced by the diamond/plum-bob shaped tip on the end of the main support tube. When completely extended it acts as a make-shift shield with a diameter of two meters, when closed however the diameter, (near the bottom), is only about half a meter and the middle being a quarter of a meter. At all times the length stays the same, (1.22 meters/4 feet).
History: When Kisei had made the decision to become a ninja, he didn’t know just how dangerous the job was. Horrified at the thought of what might happen to him his brother, Alfa, created this weapon and gave it to him as under the guise of a congratulatory gift. From there this umbrella has become Kisei’s signature weapon and has never left anywhere without it

Name: Pinwheel: Type ϱ - "Circular Straight"
Type Of Weapon: Pinwheel Whip - Requires Onojutsu
Rank: B
Elemental Alignment: Non-Applicable
Quantity: 1
Ability/Function: While not the most intimidating weapon it is still a weapon nonetheless. The metal pole supporting the wheel about  31.75mm  thick and extends to 1 meter in length. Each curl of the wheel is 1/5 of a meter long, and 76mm wide at the near the base. Inside of the weapon is steel wire connecting the wheel, and the wheel/pole support, to the pole. The pinwheel can, with sufficient force, function like a whip through the use of steel wires built into it. The maximum distance this can whip around is 15 meters. If one were to get caught by the wires, the force behind a throw coupled with the strength of the wire can cause up to 2.5 inch cuts on contact. The wheel, while it doesn't look like it, is capable of cuts up to 2.5 inches deep, and the pole is sturdy enough to cause deep bruises.
The pinwheel can expand or retract at a maximum of 40m/s.
Appearance: The Wheel itself has six curls made up from a thin but durable steel manufactured by Alfa, folded multiple times for strength. The pin connecting them is plain looking much like a button. While the pole supporting the wheel about  31.75mm  thick and extends to 1 meter in length. Each curl of the wheel is 1/5 of a meter long, and 76mm wide at the near the base. At the bottom of the pole is a twist and lock system, that controls how much the wheel can spin. Right now it can only switch between on and off: Either the wheel spins, or it doesn't at all.
History: One of Alfa's lesser known weapons. While testing the strength of materials in this world and their compatibility with his knowledge of chakra tech in his previous world, he made this weapon. A prototype of it at least. When Kisei asked his brother to make another weapon for him, he updated this weapon to complement Kisei's usage of Fūton and Raiton chakra into his weapons.

Takao

𝌊

Takao’s brows slowly knit together in a slight furrow as Kisei’s form slammed unceremoniously into him. He had expected to merely yank the object from his grasp and disarm him, and hadn’t expected Kisei to be brought along with the wire. He remained largely silent aside from a slight grunt on impact, and stood stiffly in place as Kisei felt around on his chest. Perhaps taking his shirt off for the use of kawarimi hadn’t been the best idea in hindsight, but it was still a preferred strategy, given adequate resources. More often than not, it was a cloak, and not his shirt, although either article worked the same for the purposes he intended. While Kisei was flushed and seemed a tad embarrassed, Takao merely stood still.

“That didn’t go exactly as planned.” He commented in monotone, before watching Kisei begin to move.

Takao largely allowed for Kisei’s plan to transpire, and merely observed the spectacle, including how long it took him to formulate such a course of action. Black eyes traced the hand reaching around for his back with a scroll in tow, and made an educated guess that it included another piece of equipment of some description rather than an attempt to utilize the scroll itself offensively. He felt a faint sting in the bare muscles on his back as the puppet emerged from within the parchment and found invisible strings of chakra connecting its mechanics to Kisei’s right hand, which he discerned from watching the movements of his fingers that corresponded with the movements of the puppet.

Takao reacted just as Kisei grabbed for his belt. With his left leg he stepped forward, placing it between Kisei’s legs, closest to his own left leg. Takao’s left arm swung up, aiming to catch underneath Kisei’s right and allow him to lock the arm in place. The hand movements wouldn’t be prevented, however it was merely a precursor for what was to come. With his leg moving quickly behind Kisei’s own left leg, Takao’s would curl back toward himself and lift Kisei’s with it, throwing him off balance and allowing Takao to throw Kisei harmlessly to the ground. Although it certainly wouldn’t be the most pleasant experience, the sand would surely dampen the pain of the fall.

In the same motion, Takao’s hand moved to firmly grasp Kisei’s own and force it into a fist, closing his hand over it to prevent Kisei from being able to manipulate the movements of his fingers and marionette the puppet. If Kisei had been successfully thrown, he would find Takao’s right knee planted firmly over his left arm, pinning it in the sand in the same manner that Takao pinned his right. In doing so, he would not only prevent Kisei from moving the puppet in a manner that would let him pull Takao from the ring, but also pin him on his back in the sand and keep any further attempts from being made, effectively putting an end to that portion of the training session.

“Not bad at all. Good use of distance and smart application of movement in close quarters.” He complimented, assuming that his pin had been successful.

“If you don’t mind some advice and minor criticism, it might not be a bad idea to make a quicker way to summon your puppet. Anybody would’ve been able to react to you swinging your arm around to summon it from my back, or intercept you if they’re close. Be careful where you give openings. In combat, every second is vital, and wasting time can cost you.” Takao said-- still assuming that the attempt had worked-- before slowly releasing his grasp on Kisei’s wrist and sliding his knee off his arm. Takao rose first and offered his hand out to Kisei to help him back to his feet.

“That puppet's wild. What’s it called?” Takao asked as his attention settled on the skull-shaped contraption.

Kisei's plan went unhitched for the most part. He had managed to summon his puppet and attach his puppet strings to it though it went down hill from there. When the young engineer went for his partner's belt loop he was caught unawares by the sheer speed if the next few movements, his previous display of impropriety failing to yield a sufficient distraction. The only thing he felt was a slight pressure of the older adult's leg between his the rest was a flurry of movement that he couldn't keep track of. Though the end result was plain obvious.

Kisei's eyes widened at the feeling of the much larger male pinning him down. Shocked, at the speed he was disarmed. Was the gap between the two of them this big? Even with the constraints placed on  him his tutor effortlessly dealt with Kisei's attacks and pinned him down. The surprise of it all even overshadowed his usual, lecherous, persona, who would have caved at being dominated like this. But this wasn't like that. This, was humiliating. Did he honestly have a chance at succeeding in this exercise?

Kisei tried to move, testing the strength behind those bare muscles, but try as he might he only managed to sink himself slightly deeper into the sand under the two of them. He continued to struggle, only halting when Takao started to speak. Kisei couldn't bring himself to look away, expecting some stark criticism on his performance. He stared forward locking his gaze on the eyes of the man on top of him.

When he heard wasn't so bad as he was expecting. Despite the massive difference in ability Kisei was expecting to be able to at least hold himself for a bit longer than a few seconds. They did have a point when it came to conserving time. Kisei had relied a bit too much on the element of surprise and his wide openings for counter attack didn't really help that much. Slowly the man over him got up to their feet, offering a hand to Kisei to help him up. As Kisei reached for the hand his partner asked about his exotic puppet. The Ushinatta bit his lip, pulling his hand down.

Kisei answered a bit hesitantly, "Guardian: Anti-Single Target Eradication Repulsor. You'll see why in a second." With nothing but a thought the raven haired engineer and his puppet switched places instantly. Kisei sitting flat on the ground while the upper limit of his puppet's cranial cavity touched the tuff of hair on top of the other's head. With a whip of the wrist he brought the puppet rushing towards him. With luck bringing the half naked man with it and out of the ring. Though if there was a lack of impact then he would know this last attempt was a failure and would accept it gracefully.

Standing up, his puppet gliding to position itself behind him as he raised his head to face his sparring partner. "But yeah, haven't gotten the repulsor built in yet, you know, missions and all that." He shrugged innocently, a cheeky smile on his face.

S-rank

「Just as things were beginning to wind down in the miniscule little training arena that Takao had chosen as his stage for instruction, Kisei surprised him with a substitution technique. The raven-haired shinobi’s eyes lifted upward in consternation, and his legs tensed in anticipation. If he’d been feeling a little more explosive evasion would have been of little concern, however, this was a training exercise and not a matter of life or death. Even if his body was predisposed to treat nearly everything as the latter. Thus, the chakra that began to spill forth from the tenketsu within his legs dissipated rapidly, and the jaws of the puppet closed over his head.

Takao’s hands rose and reached out for the puppet, one grasping the mandible and the other the maxilla. His intention had been to pry it off and thus left himself unprepared to resist the pull. His weight was yanked toward Kisei by the puppet, and as a result, he was thrown from the circle. With his balance lost and the momentum of the puppet carrying him onward, Takao’s shoulder hit the sands and his lower body rolled over his upper, just as he collided with the sandbags lining the forward base’s outer perimeter.

In typical comedic fashion, Takao’s resting position was less than optimal. His weight rested on his shoulders as his legs, blocked by his bottom and lower back which rested against the sandbags, hung over his shoulders and head.

”Kgh...” Takao groaned, spitting out stray granules of sand that managed to find their way into his mouth. His eyes reluctantly opened, and he was greeted with the sight of the forward base, only upside down.

“Ahaha!” He laughed, letting his arms flop defeatedly to the side. “Okay, you got me.”

Takao’s abdomen flexed and his legs rose, hooking over the sandbags. It took precious little effort to lift himself up into a seating position upon the sandbags using only the muscles in his stomach, which then allowed him to pivot on his bottom and face Kisei proper.

“Well done. I was expecting to have to drill the whole… ‘the battle isn’t done ‘til it’s done’ mindset into your head, but it looks like you’ve already got it in there. Stubbornness and the will to keep going even when things are stacked against you is a virtue. In the Leaf, it’s an important constituent to the Will of Fire. Hold onto it.” A wide and toothy smile overtook his expression as he slid from the sandbags and approach Kisei and his puppet, leaning forward to examine the latter.

“So, what’s your contingency if the strings on your puppet get cut, or if somebody gets past ‘em and goes straight to you?” Takao asked, curious about the puppeteer’s strategies. In part, it was to aid him in the face of eventuality, and in part because he only had his own perspective on what such strategies might be. Hearing things from the angle of an actual puppeteer whose life and livelihood hinged on their usage of their complex constructs was just as much informative to him.

"Ohhh! I wanna know what else this thing can do too-- if you don't mind me asking. What kinda weapons does it have?" He added, allowing a slight fit of childlike wonder to overtake him at the prospect of learning about something he knew so little about on an intimate level.」

Kisei was surprised at the weight his puppet caught, expecting to have caught thin air given the strength and speed of his opponent, however his shock was momentary and wouldn’t really affect his decision to yank as hard as he could. When he felt a light thud tap the sand from his position he relented slightly, unhinging the jaws of his puppet and having it glide silently across the sand, turning opposite of him and snapping the jaw open so that Kisei could peer beyond the safety of his sturdy puppet. The Ushinatta’s heart leapt inside of his rib cage at the sight of Takao’s, interesting, predicament. ‘He’s just upside down, but wow.’ He thought to himself, flushed a bit from the heat and the compromising position.

The engineer flushed even more when they admitted defeat. ‘What is wrong with me.’

He watched quietly as his partner got into a more, easily manageable, position, for conversation. Kisei, already standing, listened as they spoke. A bit of praise on his determination, even going so far as to call his stubbornness a virtue. I mean, he’ll take the compliment but Kisei didn’t think that stubbornness wasn’t as important as some other things. Looking at the (glorious) musculature of the man before him; strength, overwhelming amounts of it, seemed more prevailing in the face of real combat. Then again, what kind of determination did he have to get that far? A good question, for later. Right now, they were having puppet talk. They seemed curious about how he would handle close ranged enemies should they get close, as well as the actual powers of the puppet itself. Kisei thought for a second, before deciding on how to answer him.

“Well, I’m not planning on staying still obviously. Staying mobile while keeping an offensive presence is one of the strong points of being a puppeteer right? For example.” Kisei directed a chain to be shot out at the umbrella two meters behind the raven haired man in front of him. The tooth dug into the sand, wrapping the chain around the hilt of the weapon before retracting back towards Kisei, a little more than unstable in its momentum. Along the way the umbrella lightly smack Takao’s left butt cheek with its side, Kisei shot an apologetic grin. “Sorry, still learning to control this thing.” The engineer grimaced. He should probably lighten up on the teasing until he was more certain.

The chain deposited the umbrella directly into Kisei’s hand. “Now it ain’t the best way of going about things, but until I find something better, it works fine.” The Ushinatta winked before dropping the umbrella onto the ground, lightly pressing the left foot at the front and the right at the hilt. Almost second nature to him, his chakra responded to the pressure and flowed into the weapon under him. Without a second’s notice he was propelled forward minutely dodging around the man and curving around him in a tight ‘U’. The ride was smooth, barely making a mark in the sand as he glided behind his puppet and into the open space in the back, opening up the jaws to lean forward on the massive teeth. Hands supporting him from falling and impaling himself on his own creation.

“I do have a few other plans in case my mobility isn’t enough, but I have noticed that defenses are something I’m desperately lacking in. But anyways, my puppet. I got chains-” He briefly disconnected and wiggled all twenty tooth chains as well as four horn chains before pulling them back in. “Stealth.” With a click, Kisei would disappear from sight, the sounds of his own breathing muffled behind the cloaking ability of his puppet. Although against a trained ninja like the one before him, he wasn’t sure the stealth will hold up. Either way after a few seconds he would decloak, leaving the, current, best modification for last.

“Now, I think you’ll find this last ability interesting. Blast the puppet with a jutsu. Don’t try and hold back too much, but don’t try and overkill it alright? This is still pretty much untested.” Kisei winked. Leaning back as snapped the fingers, the jaws of the puppet snapping shut in front of him. If Takao had decided not to risk the harm to him Kisei wouldn’t mind and would ask what they would do now. However if Takao did decide to continue with the demonstration he would smile as he prepared for the jutsu to make contact with his puppet, waiting for the chakra constructing the jutsu to be broken down and absorbed into the puppet’s personal battery before casually asking, “So, what's next?” Though he would’ve asked that even if he declined. Eager to continue their training. This was just beginning to get interesting.

S-rank

「Takao observed Kisei’s demonstration of the strange puppet’s utility in various forms, and mentally reserved spots in his head for methods to combat such abilities. It was hardly anything against Kisei and was instead a product of a lifetime career as a shinobi; he was predisposed toward planning to fight everybody he met. With an approving nod and a myriad of ideas floating around in his headspace, Takao decided to oblige Kisei’s request to blast it with a technique.

A slow inhale would flood his lungs to capacity, and within them chakra would seem into the organs. Mixing the two constituents of destruction together produced a volatile swath of flame within his body, growing in intensity in less than a second. Just as quick as the flames had swelled within him they were exhaled, spewed from his agape maw as a white-hot pressurized jet, aimed dead at the opponent. As the roaring flames collided with the puppet, the chakra within it was torn away and syphoned into the puppet to leave only trace remnants of the technique behind.

“Nice.” Takao remarked, leaving little more commentary on the matter before Kisei moved on and questioned what was next on the agenda.

“Well, putting discrepancies that can be honed aside… you seem to have the offensive part down. More or less. There’s always room for improvement, no matter how much experience you have.” Takao spoke as he walked over to his shirt, which had long since fallen to the sands. The chakra placed upon it remained, unused despite the hit he had taken earlier. He shook the stray granules of sand from the fabric and swung it over his shoulder before turning it back to Kisei.

“So, since you have that down, let’s see how you do on the defensive.” His coy smile pulled the corner of his mouth into his cheek, clearly entertained by the notion that their roles would be reversed.

“Different rules this time.” Takao said as he stretched his arms. He retrieved the shirt from his shoulder and pulled the fabric back over his torso, having resigned to not utilizing the substitution that remained imbued in its fibres. He ruffled his hair in a vain attempt to fix the mussied style, and left it falling into its usual shape.

“All you have to do is stay on your feet for five minutes within this lil’ court here. If I knock you over or outside of the ring, I win. If you manage to last, you win.”

“You won’t learn anything if I just wallop you, obviously…” Takao added, rubbing along his jawline in thought. In the moment that followed, Takao’s hands would clap together as though he had concluded something, when in reality chakra began to flood the palms of his hands.

“I’m pretty sure I can imitate something similar to your level… or close enough at least. I’m still gonna outpace you though so that you can get prepared for that kinda scenario. Sound good?” He would give the young shinobi no time to respond before his hands thrust forward, palms out, in his direction.

“Great! Let’s start!” As the words left his lips, a powerful gale of wind tore from his palms and slammed into the sands between them. A geyser of the coarse granules erupted betwixt them and shrouded his next movements, which took him from his starting position around the wall of sand that blocked their sight of one another. He would appear at Kisei’s side in less than a second, mid-air and in the middle of a spinning kick aimed for the boy’s nearest arm and side. He hadn’t put his full power behind the kick, and had limited himself to Chūnin-level ability.」

Kisei sweated a bit when he felt the overwhelming heat pierce through the steel of his puppet’s design, letting out a sign of relief as the puppet’s defenses held up against the attack. ‘Could’ve been a lot worse without that mod.’ They admitted. ‘Though this really doesn’t could as a defense, it works well enough for a fall back shield.’ With a snap the puppet’s jaw opened up to reveal Takao’s built frame, noting carefully to what they had to say though distracted a bit when a strange twinge of disappointment flew through him as they reached for their shirt…

Since apparently Kisei had offense down they were moving onto something more defensively oriented… “Oh I think I know where this is going.” they sweated. The rules were essentially the same as when Kisei was attacking Takao. Except he had to withstand their attacks for five minutes. Surely they both knew at that point that he won't be able to compete at this level. This one is leagues stronger than whatever Kisei could muster. Offensive and defensive technique were at least on par with each other. Not to mention instincts and physical ability… Nonetheless, despite the circumstances, Kisei couldn't allow his unease to show so easily. Though this nervousness was starting to aggravate his sprained arm from earlier...

The rules as laid out by his partner we're simple: stay within the circle for five minutes. Simple on paper, but in reality this was going to be much more difficult than it seemed. Extremely limited mobility was the worst thing for him, most of his attacks relied on it in fact; so take that away and all you got is a boy and an umbrella. Maybe they'll be take pity and hold back? Though probably not, better to just prepare for the worst in that case.

To his luck however it sounded like they were going to hold back, if only a little bit. Just means he'll have to pick up the slack. Doesn't mean it'll be easy but manageable is much better than impossible. It'll be fine-

“Great! let's start!”

Kisei was blown away in the surprise his partner had been storing up. His puppet's mouth was open to allow for conversation but it seemed to also leave a big opening for the sand grains they blew up with their jutsu. With a quick thrust of the palm another cloud of sand erupted between them and shrouding Kisei's sight on his opponent. Before he knew what happened next the Ushinatta was kicked in the side. Knocked against the inside of his puppet's teeth. “Gah!”

The pain was sudden but not overwhelming, with the engineer barely managing to withhold himself from instinctually covering the bruise with his other hand. Unfortunately, the umbrella was in that one so he'd only be making it worse. Grimacing, Kisei looked towards the man who inflicted that wound. Trying a weak smile despite the pain swelling inside him.

“Not too bad.. ow..” he tried. Kisei knew that there was no way he'd be able to hold his own for five minutes. This Ushinatta's style, as much as he despised it, was very little weapon mastery and mostly trickery coupled with unpredictability. His first instinct was to jump out of the trap and lock his partner inside of here, but that would be of little use, probably. Effective for a moment, but once trapped inside of here there was no doubt they would unleash their full power and break through the puppet. Leaving Kisei without one of his most effective treasures. He couldn't keep running from actually using his weapons. There are thousands of uses for a single item and Kisei has only mastered a couple of them. So that meant only one option didn't it?

With a smug look airs about him Kisei lifted his umbrella to his partner frantically manipulating the puppet with his other hand. Using all twenty seven horns and teeth of the puppet he quickly had them wrap around the entirety of circle outlined as the boundary, the twisting chains forcing the puppet to rise up quickly creating a cage of chains trapping the two of them inside. Lastly the tips of the chains, both horn and tooth, would stab into the ground outside of the next prison he had constructed; locking the skull headed puppet in place. At this point the field had been changed to be a two and a half meter diamter cylinder with a ten meter height. The bottom half of the puppet sticking out amongst the chains trapping the two of them.

At this point he would give some type of retort, but this wasn't the time for that.

Shifting the chakra he had been channeling into his puppet into his shoes, Kisei jumped and planted both feet flat against the chains. In no time he was sent upward, umbrella pointed downward to his opponent before clicking it once. A flash of blue, and a sphere of light flew out and exploded at the bottom of the cage.

Of course from start to finish of the execution of his plan Kisei would keep an eye out for adjustments that would need to be made in accordance with what his opponent had in mind, and he had no illusions that this was going to go off with no hitches. But he would just have to deal with those as they came.

「Much of Takao’s initial reaction was observation. Disrespectful as it might have been to think so, he knew that he outclassed Kisei in such a way that whatever the shinobi had in store could be dealt with swiftly, yet he was not so arrogant that he left no room for the possibility to be surprised.

His black eyes traced the movement of the puppet closely, and watched what he couldn’t focus on in his peripheral vision. The circle was encaged by chains fired from the puppet. It was a clever tactic to achieve a contained success in the mission at hand, which was to prevent himself from being removed from the circle. Utilizing whatever means for success was not only an important part of combat, but an important aspect for mission completion as well. But in this particular situation, it was perhaps not the smartest idea to lock himself in with his opponent.

This train of thought lead Takao to believe there was something else to this cage. Another purpose, perhaps to contain Takao just as much as Kisei contained himself. As his gaze rose to Kisei upon the ceiling of the chains, it became apparent what exactly was happening. With furrowed brows and a lopsided smirk, Takao raised his arms and crossed them in front of his face as the blast shot from the umbrella. Chakra flooded from his tenketsu in an instant and saturated his skin, hardening it beyond steel without changing his outward appearance. This blue flash of light collided next to him, throwing sand and concussive force into his covered face, but failing to uproot him or damage him. The Iron Wall Stance had done well to leave him without so much as a scratch, although with plentiful amounts of sand in places it shouldn’t be.

Takao’s eyes were gifted chakra and their onyx hues shimmered into glowing fiery orbs. He identified Kisei’s location through the sand using the heat from his body and acted swiftly. Three shuriken were retrieved from the leg pouch on his left leg and thrown with half a second interval between each projectile, all three aimed for Kisei’s center mass. The sharp sound of the spinning blades cutting through the plume of sand that obscured him from sight were soon drowned out by the sound of rattling chains. As Takao leapt from his spot of defend, he landed on the chains off to the side, and then jumped again toward Kisei, his body rotating mid-air so that his legs were up and his head was down. His right leg swept in a single broad spinning stroke toward Kisei’s legs, intent on getting him to move from the position he had taken up. The risk of hitting himself with the projectiles was minimal, he hadn’t put himself in their path, and even if he had the remnants of Iron Wall Stance’s protection would have them bounce off his skin.

“Are you sure you need me to teach you technical knowledge?” Takao would call out after his onslaught of attacks, provided that he hadn’t been interrupted in some manner that would prevent him from speaking, although such a circumstance was unlikely given the confidence he held in his ability to react adequately.

“Encasing yourself to prevent being blown out of the ring and keeping me captured so that my options for evasion are limited-- it seems to me like you know what you’re doing!” He said, his lopsided grin worn wide across his face.

“You’re not lacking in the resourcefulness category, at the very least. It seems to me like you just need to hone your abilities through experience, really.”」

The massive plume of sand that engulfed his tutor shielded them from the engineer’s eyes, preventing him from confirming if his surprise attack was successful. His eyes were focused on the disappating cloud of sand, searching for any sign-! Just in time Kisei managed to manipulate the chakra in his feet to shift his position on meter to the right, out of the way of the projectile shot at him. He shifted his position, kneeling with his left leg while propped up with the other. Kisei slid another meter to the right. Narrowly dodging this next shuriken. The clash of metal as his opponent’s weapon bounced off the chains of Kisei’s puppets, falling to the ground like the other did before. The cloud of sand had settled completely at this point, giving Kisei a clear view of his perfectly healthy instructor. It didn’t surprise to find that his instructor was still up from that attack, even if this umbrella could potientially kill another person, they weren’t like other people. They were better, stronger, and he should have made preparations for a foe like that. Oh wait, he did- The Ushinatta shifted again out of the way, not breaking eye contact with the man on the ground floor, letting the shuriken fall down again as it bounced off the walls.

Probably deciding that they had enough of ranged warfare, Kisei’s tutor jumped upwards, landing on the solid wall of chains the Ushinatta had constructed before jumping again towards the Ushinatta himself. Kisei readied himself for his opponent’s next attack. As they jumped towards him, twirling in the air, Kisei slid diagonally to his bottom right while he pressed up against the chain wall. His evasion barely escaping the attack. Listening to his tutor's words with half a mind while straight to the ground. Working his next move. While his opponent could speak freely without mind of serious injury or defeat, Kisei didn't have that luxury. He was facing someone with a dozen years or more of active experience. He'll have to work hard to keep his ground, the whole point of this excersize.

'However, I wonder if they will see this coming?' He thought to himself.

Kisei furiously began to manipulate the chakra strings binding him to his puppet. The chains moved all at once, Forming a second, smaller cage above him. Effectively cutting the height of the cylinder in half and trapping his opponent in the new formation. He left four chains on the ground to hold up the weight of the puppet, creating the image of a square in the radius of the fighting ring. Though this wasn't the end of his attack. While he channeled the effects  of his static saber technique into his puppet he forced the ends of the chains to retract at the bottom. The speed of the retraction reminding him of the Venus fly trap, snapping shut on its prey. The puppet's Aegis function would absorb whatever jutsu his opponent was using to shield himself from, and when that happened they'd be paralyzed from the electricity arcing throughout the puppet and its chain prison.

Name: Static Saber
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Element: Raiton
Range: Within reach
Specialty: Bukijutsu
Duration: Maintainable
Cooldown: Duration + 2
Description: The user infuses their weapon with great amounts of unstable ration chakra, causing their weapon to spark and crackle at the surface with electricity. When the charged weapon directly strikes the body, the built up raiton chakra leaves the weapon and enters the nervous system, numbing the afflicted area and making it impossible to move for 1 post. If the same person is struck three times within the same post with the effects of this jutsu the built up raiton chakra spreads through the whole body, stunning them for one post.

Name: Art of Dissolution - Feint Shadow: Mockery

Rank: C-A
Type: Supplementary
Element: N
Range: Self
Specialty: Bukijutsu (Chakra Flow)
Duration: Maintainable / 5 chakra per post (+5 for B & A ranks)
Cooldown: Duration + 2
Description: Kisei circulates chakra around the surface of his weapon, creating a sort of "moving assembly" line or, in a more accurate description, the wheels on the bus. Essentially this allows Kisei to slide over surfaces that are making contact with his weapon with relative ease. Movement without actually moving. For example he could use a scythe as a surf board, pressing the top part of the weapon to the ground and hoping on top of the blade, riding into battle that way. An important thing to note is that this works for any item the user 'owns'. (Like if an item was stolen away for more than three posts or if claimed from a killed PC.)

The item is assumed to be able to hold up the user's weight no matter the size of the surface area the affected item is exerting on a given surface, as well as not breaking the surface in question.

The maximum speed this jutsu can achieve is locked to both the rank of the jutsu used and the burst SPD of the speed stat of the ninja using it.

C-rank: Burst SPD +5m/s

B-rank: Burst SPD +10m/s

A-rank: Burst SPD + 15m/s.

While an incredibly useful technique for movement the speed is hard to keep up with. As such, while this technique is activated the user received a -1 tier deduction to their reaction time stat.

Items Used:

History: When Kisei had made the decision to become a ninja, he didn’t know just how dangerous the job was. Horrified at the thought of what might happen to him his brother, Alfa, created this weapon and gave it to him as under the guise of a congratulatory gift. From there this umbrella has become Kisei’s signature weapon and has never left anywhere without it.

Unsurprisingly, the shuriken that had been thrown were dodged with ease, as Takao had expected nothing less. They were merely meant as a distraction after all, a means to force Kisei’s attention elsewhere whilst a second attack was launched and his capacity for response was limited. But, to Takao’s pleasant surprise, his young charge was not so easily distracted. Such should be expected from a puppeteer, multitasking was in the very nature of their method of combat, as they had to consciously control their puppets whilst keeping an eye on the battlefield at large, adding an entirely new dimension to a fight that was not present for typical shinobi.

Not bad,” Takao mused to himself, impressed by how well Kisei had managed to handle himself in close quarters combat. Of course, Takao’s ability to truly test him was handicapped, for many of his techniques would quickly put an end to their close quarters dance. For now, though, it was entertaining enough for Takao to indulge.

When Takao landed a mere instant later, his eyes were drawn to the movement of the chains, which began to enclose around him. They continued to encroach on his position, eventually becoming close enough to attempt to pin him to the ceiling of the makeshift cage of chains. He stood and allowed them to come closer, seemingly submitting to the trap, but in reality Kisei would find that he was not so easily trapped. As the chains made their attempt to pin him, Takao’s hands wrapped tightly around the steel links, preventing any further trapping and prying them open.

It was then that he felt the chakra that hardened his skin fade away, and it took him no time at all to deduce that the source was likely the chains. Whether it be his direct contact with them or their proximity upon closing in, the exact method didn’t matter so much, especially when the first sparks of electricity arced across the steel. Unsure if the chains would continue to draw his chakra out, Takao opted to take a chance, and built swathes of it in his legs. Using the portion of the chains that he pried apart through sheer force of his strength alone, he provided himself enough space to explosively release the chakra within his limbs. He shot down from the chains straight into the ground, causing geysers of sand to rise where he tumbled. The momentum of the technique was excessive for the short distance he traveled, but fast enough to allow him to evade the encroaching electricity before whatever effects it would impart came to pass.

The lopsided grin that graced his face earlier returned, wider than before, as air filled his lungs. Waves of chakra flooded the oxygen, grinding it down into a fine powder within his body. As he exhaled, a plume of ash filled the makeshift arena, covering it in thirty-meters or so of light, volatile gunpowder.

“Let’s see how you handle this one!” He yelled out from the ash as the last of his breath formed a fleck of an ember, igniting the ash in an instant, causing the plume to erupt into a spectacular explosion. He was engulfed by the flames himself, but of course, the hot blood of dragons ran through his veins. Uncomfortable at the heat may have been, it left nary a hair on his person so much as singed, and the chorus of voices in his head erupted into a symphony of cheering and glee, finally granted the all-encompassing fire they lusted for.

Type: Supplementary
Element: /
Range: 50m
Specialty: Taijutsu
Duration: Instantaneous
Cooldown: 2 Posts
Description: Chakra is used as a substitution for muscle when the user makes a jump, allowing them to override their physical limitations and leap much higher than what would be normally possible. Utilizing this method, the user is capable of traveling 50 meters from their starting point in a straight line relevant to the origin of the technique's usage, allowing them to travel either vertically or horizontally depending on the user's position. The user travels at speeds of 35m/s during this period of flight. As the user lands, the residual chakra that remains in the user's legs from the usage of the technique is used to soften their landing by expanding outwards explosively upon making contact with the point of impact. This will result in material such as dirt or stone fracturing around the user in a 7 meter radius, similar to Cherry Blossom Impact. This technique deals no damage.

Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Element: Katon
Range: 30 meters of gunpowder.
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 1 post prep. The cloud lasts 3 posts before dissipating; 1 post explosion
Cooldown: 6 posts
Description: The user inhales deeply, forming the horse hand seal, before exhaling a thick cloud of chakra-infused gunpowder. This gunpowder is extremely light and responds to the air current, essentially creating a large cloud of smoke to disguise movement. This is not its true purpose, however. Even the smallest of sparks will ignite this gas cloud, causing a gigantic explosion. If caught in the center of the explosion (center 5m of the cloud), the victim will be covered in major second and minor third degree burns. If caught in the periphery of the blast, the victim will receive major first and minor second degree burns. The ash will last three posts before fading, but requires another fire source (E-rank Katon or Matches/Lighter/fFlint as an item). As the ash is very light and sensitive to the air, a D-rank Wind Release technique that provides a blowing wind (Such as Wind Release: Stream) can change the affected area; after 2 posts of using such a jutsu, this technique is useless, as the gunpowder has completely dispersed. Once the gunpowder is ignited once, it is inert and cannot be used without using this jutsu again.

Kisei

B-rank
So far it seemed that Kisei’s plan went off flawlessly. The speed of these chains were as fast the highest of jounin. That was his first mistake. While he was thinking of given his opponent a generous over estimate he was infact, grossly underestimating him, as he’d find out in the far future. As when they stretched out the specially crafted steel chains of his puppet and missle bombed downwards into safety of his paralyzing attack. Kisei wasn’t expecting that but couldn’t say that we was overwhelmingly surprised at that outcome either. He was dealing with a top-tier ninja, he shouldn’t have went in with the notion that any of his attempts to pin them down would work. Every tactic should be something to buy him time and lengthen his survival time, because that was the win condition, not wasting chakra or energy on fruitless efforts to break them down. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had the time to build his puppet’s main offense, as that would have been perfect counter-attack to their escape. Not he just had to deal with the consequences suffered by the unprepared.

Thankfully what they planned next was something that was more up with Kisei’s speed. Taking a deep breath and filling their lungs with air. It gave the Ushinatta enough time to swing their body in a left spiral umbrella in hand, counter clockwise. A great wind was summoned out from him as he channeled his chakra throughout his entire body, preemptively dispersing the ash around him. Because the source of the smoke was from his tutor and it blew out in all directions from him, when Kisei spurred that small windstorm around him he also stopped it from gathering directly behind him as well to his sides and front. Though it also had the bonus effect of dispersing the smoke to everywhere but the arena.

This technique, I know it. That’s Karisuma girl from the chuunin exams used it, and if I remember right, just a spark-! He needed to cover up. Kisei quickly brought his spiral to a halt as the smoke stopped spreading about. Unfortunately there was something amiss, his chakra threads were severed with that last attack and his puppet, unable to support itself without its puppeteer’s aid, fell to the ground next to his black haired instructor, sending sand up into the air and forcing the chains and horns to slowly retract. With his opponent exposed to attack and two charges inside his umbrella still open for fire, he decided to take the shot. Slightly adjusting him aim, Kisei pointed his umbrella at Takao and fired twice for good measure. The explosion would definitely affect him at this close a range but he had that thought out, adjusting his stance as he fired. Beta opened up before him, extending its full coverage as it unleashed two bolts of chaotic energy before it. He still had his mockery jutsu to think of and maybe could dodge out of the way of his opponent's next attack if they tried to intercept him, ducking to the side before blasting them.

Kisei can also twirl it counter clockwise to repel targets instead. Shoving them away from Kisei at 25m/s for 5 meters outside of the radius.

Projectiles and jutsu B-rank and lower are able to be manipulated by this jutsu, able to be drawn in toward Kisei or repelled away from him.Katon jutsu however will burn through the Fūton vortex if the chakra variant is used, meaning that only C-rank Katon can be affected.

A maximum of five objects can be affected at once. Projectiles that are able to be affect, B-rank or lower, count as one object. For people/pets/summons, only three can be repelled at once. If a person was repelled along with an item the person would count as three items. Meaning that 2 person and two projectiles can be affected at max in a mixed state. The Meeting of a Coming Legend [Takao/Invite Only] D6ehE4O

His ash was, unsurprisingly, dealt with without major issue. The attacks Takao had launched thus far had been reserved, understandably given their difference in experience, and didn't seem to be posing too much of a challenge for Kisei. At the very least, from Takao's perspective, it came off as though Kisei was handling them without too much stress, even being able to launch his own counter-attacks.

What Takao deduced from this was that the pressure he was applying to Kisei was inadequate to inflict enough duress onto him for the sake of training. It was how he learned best himself, after all, and the best method to learn in general. It was true, after all, that an opponent would not provide free openings. Their onslaught would be unrelenting, from all angles, with the intent to maim and kill. Surely Takao could not replicate such malicious intent accurately, but he could do his best to reproduce the stress of an overwhelming opponent, which was a situation he thought important to experience firsthand.

But, before Takao could apply this situation onto Kisei, he had to deal with the incoming quartet of energy bolts. Chakra swirled in his gut and traveled to his outstretched arms, too slow to apply his cast technique to the first two bolts of energy shot from the umbrella, which tore through the fabric of his hands and cast unpleasant bruising across his palms, but it was quick enough to deal with the next pair of bolts. His scarred extremities, still outstretched, caught the latter pair as though they were physical constructs, holding them within the clutches of Grasp Immaterium.

"Whew," He sighed as his digits tightened and the bolts shattered, adequately defended against by the relatively simple technique.

"That was close."

"How long's it been anyway?" He asked aloud as he flexed his hand, testing the usability of his damaged hands. In his excitement to battle, he had foregone the foresight to set up a timer for the match in which he had ascribed a time limit to. Rubbing the stubble of his jawline, he shrugged, and resolved to an alternative.

"Well, let's do this instead. If you survive this next technique, the match is yours," Takao said, his hands joining together to form a single seal; the Tiger seal.

"Get ready, this one's gonna be a doozy!"

As he did so, chakra built in his stomach once more in tandem with chakra that swelled in his lungs alongside his breath. As he exhaled, flames poured from his agape maw. A swathe of flames, four meters long and three meters both tall and wide, shot toward Kisei, building speed quickly and threatening him with crackling heat. However, within the flames was a trick, one that granted it the ability to continue unhindered should it come into contact with something that might stop it. Whilst these flames traveled to Kisei, Takao cast a third technique. The first was merely to distract, or rather to expend Kisei's ability to act whilst the final technique cast was to fulfill Takao's self-imposed win condition. While the enhanced fireball traveled, a gale of wind built at Takao's back. Timed with the impact of the fireball, the torrent of wind was released and shot forth toward Kisei, boasting the ability to knock him out of the designated arena.

The actual effect of this technique is quite simple, and when attached to another technique, Skipping Stones bestows upon said technique the ability to smash through the first interaction, equal to the rank of the applied technique, that it comes into contact with. This effect ends both this technique and the interacted technique without hindering the attached technique whatsoever. Additionally, the user must pay the difference in chakra cost when interacting with techniques above A-Rank, requiring 5 additional chakra for A-Rank and 10 for S-Rank.
Name: Fire Style: Flame Bullet (火遁・炎弾 ~ Katon: Endan)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: C.
Type: Offensive.
Element: Katon.
Range: 30m.
Specialty: Ninjutsu.
Duration: 1 post. Flames burn for 2 posts after hitting something.
Cooldown: 4 posts after flames disperse.
Description: The user converts chakra in their mouth into fire, and shoots it at the target in the form of a (4m long x 3m wide x 3m tall) flame projectile that moves at 20m/s. On-contact, this results a painful burning sensation on the hit area. Upon impact the jutsu inflicts major 1st degree burns, which intensify to minor 2nd degree burns after the initial post if allowed to continue burning. This technique can be used strategically to let the ninja cut off an escape route, as the Flame Bullet will continue to burn on any surface it hits, even if not normally flammable.
Name: Wind Release: Great Breakthrough (Fūton: Daitoppa ~ 風遁・大突破)
Canon/Custom: Canon
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Element: Fūton
Range: 25 metres. Created one metre behind the user.
Specialty: Ninjutsu
Duration: 1 post
Cooldown: 5 posts
Description: Wind Release: Great Breakthrough is a relatively simple technqiue where the user creates a sudden intense burst of wind. This technique requires no hand seals or physical action to perform, and they can choose which direction the burst of wind shall travel towards. It does however take a few seconds from willing it to happen to the burst of wind occuring, and the burst of wind is always created around the user's body in such a way that the wind hits them too. For example, if you want the wind to fire in the direction you're facing, it will be created behind you, meaning you will be inside the burst yourself. This attack can knock aside any D rank or lower projectiles flying opposed to it as well as greatly improve the velocity of those flying inside of it [travelling at 10 m/s] in the direction of the wind to a maximum distance of 5 meters and can send anyone who is not using Supernatural Walking Practice flying backwards 5 meters. In addition, a katon technique of at least C rank can set this burst of wind ablaze, causing it to form a massive raging torrent and increasing burn effects one degree higher.

Kisei

Kisei

Brief smoke swirled around his target as the dual explosions went off, making direct contact with they’re mark. Kisei’s heart stopped. That had to be the first time that any of his umbrella explosions actually straight on hit someone. For these ones at least, the first umbrella he recieved was able to considerably injury the Karisuma girl from the exams, however this umbrella was many times more deadly and hopefully it would at least have slowed them down. Kisei could feel a drip of sweat trail down his cheek as he watched the smoke clear, the tension building, and building, before breaking. The weapons he’s worked with up to now were more for show and defense and his young heart wasn’t so adjusted to the sight of what his weapons could do. Streaks of burn marks crossed the entirety of both arms, and at the end of his hands a bolt of energy ensnared in their muscled grasp before being promptly crushed by their massive strength. In the back of his mind he admired the use of chakra to solidify the energy bolts, but the young blacksmith was still majorly concerned about what his mentor had endured. They didn’t seem very phased by the damage, thankfully, but the Ushinatta couldn’t help his worrying. For all the weapons he’s made, he never really considered how they might actually be applied to humans. It was a disturbing thing, how burnt flesh smelt and looked.

Kisei gulped, a bit shaken up, but gathering his resolve. He couldn’t afford to be so focused on his opponent’s wounds, he needed to worry about his own well being first. Steeling himself for his mentor’s incoming assault. Though it never came. His raven haired instructor called for the time and stopped the match temporarily. Deciding that was safe, Kisei lowered his weapon. Still maintaining the chakra in his shoes in case the match was abruptly started up once again. “Um, I don’t think that we had a timer, you just kinda gut punched me and started the thing.” The blacksmith shrugged, casually reloading the umbrella in his right as he talked. Noting that he only had one charge left to use, after unleashing all the currently equipped rounds.

His instructor seemed to come to the same conclusion, but took it a different way. He was going to have to deal with just one more attack before calling the victory, or defeat. Kisei widened his stance, leading with his left foot, as his instructor formed a tiger hand seal. The umbrella wielding ninja flicked his signature weapon open and tensed his legs. His teacher had a good number of breathe based attacks or techniques that originated from himself, so he should expect no different from this time. After all, he just needed to survive this attack right? When his teacher warned him of his oncoming onslaught Kisei was prepared. As the other ninja drew in breath Kisei charged his weapon with fortifying chakra and tossed it towards at his teacher, and as soon as it left his hands the Ushinatta would soar through the air, straight up from his standing position as a burst of wind manifested and blasted through his body. Sending the light bodied boy upward and hopefully dodging the fireball if his umbrella didn’t properly cancel it. 'Let's see if this pays off.'

The Meeting of a Coming Legend [Takao/Invite Only] D6ehE4O

The sting in his hands and the smell of burnt flesh were sensations he was far from unfamiliar with. The damage to his palms was minimal, he assumed only the outermost layers of flesh had been singed-- it stung, surely, but it was nothing close to debilitating. Now the smell, well... Indeed, he was very familiar.

Now, as Takao's coaldust hues watched Kisei's movements, he prepared to pull the fireball back it necessary. The flames licked at the surface of his umbrella, chewing through whatever film of chakra he had shrouded the item with, as was the purpose of Skipping Stones. It was a way to transform even a weak and mundane technique such as the classic Flame Bullet into a surprising, defense-crushing monolith of power. The residual flames were as to be expected, of course, but the augmentation that cloaked it was meant as an element of surprise. In this instance, Takao had put his young charge in a precarious position. He would have no way of knowing, at least not on the surface that Takao could discern, that the swathe of flame would eat through whatever defense he erected. The correct choice, and the choice that Kisei had chosen indeed, was to evade.

As Kisei ascended out of the range of the technique just barely in time to escape its burning wrath, Takao brought his hands together and formed a single hand seal. Rather than allow the fire to continue onward and wreak havoc upon the base of operations, he guided it upward into the sky, not toward Kisei but outward, dissipating in the atmosphere when the chakra within it could no longer fuel the flames.

With a smile on his face, Takao’s hands broke the seal and came to rest on his hips.

“Not bad, kid!” He said, gesturing that Kisei could return to the ground.

“You’re pretty good, y’know. We should have a proper fight sometime-- not for real, I mean, just no special rules or anything.”

It hadn’t escaped Takao that the entire purpose of this bout was to help Kisei in real battle, however with such a stark difference in skill, it was a difficult task on both ends of the spectrum. Finding the perfect middle point between not going too easy on him and not overwhelming him was indeed the best way for him to learn.

“Anyway, I should probably be getting back to work.” Takao said, extending his hand outward to Kisei as a gesture, digits curled into a fist.

“I’ll see you around.” Whether or not Kisei returned the gesture, Takao would be off, discarding his singed gloves along the way in a small plume of fire on his short trek back into the camp.

Kisei’s play was a narrowly successful one, while his umbrella did little to discourse his oppponent’s flaming breath, his evasion was much more successful. The heat flared above the ambient desert sun’s influence and nearly set his boots on fire. A wave of relief and cool passed over him as the heat of the fireball vanished behind him and roared its way into the atmosphere. Still a floating in the air he glanced at his instructor who held a single hand seal. A change in trajectory?  He smiled to himself before gravity took over and threw him uncerimoniously against the ground, landing on his hands and knees as sand threw up into the arena around him.

Coughly up his fair bit of sand for the day Kisei dusted himself off and got back onto his feet, loooking at his teacher to see what they were up to next. He was geniunely flattered by their words, the praise meant a lot coming from someone who killed the snake woman his brother had been hunting down. While this exercise was starting to get wear down on him, it wasn’t unenjoyable or anything. The rush of fighting someone so much stronger than you, it was quite the thrill. “I’d love to.” Kisei smirked. Shaking the rest of the sand out of his hair as he beamed at the night haired man. His smile dropped a bit as his teacher walked forward, extending his fist out. With all the head bashing he had going around him it took a second for Kisei to recognize what they were doing but when he did he just laughed it off and bumped fists with the taller man. Takao explained that he ought to be getting on with his dutes and Kisei nodded in understanding. He kinda barged in, announced, but then demanded a training session from the keeper of this base. Well, he learned something good at least. He was a lot lower on food chain than he expected.

With one last wave goodbye to his unnamed instructor- shoot! He never got a name from him before he left! Kisei realized much to late as they disappeared into their base of operations. He sighed deeply as he collected his scattered weapons and sealed away his puppet. When he turned up and around to leave he came face to face with the same woman who greeted him when he first came to this base. “Wow, Hokage-sama messed you up good huh?” She said blatantly.  Immedietly the pervert inside him turned the temperature up twenty degrees because he was sweating bullets at the mention of the Hokagemessing him up” But managed to control himself from squealing. Kisei shuddered, before the line of questioning made a bit more sense to him. Was she talking about his teacher? “Do you mean right now?” Kisei asked, confused. The lady gave him a dumb loook before screaming, “Yes right now-! Oh wait, you’re a refugee right?”

Kisei’s forehead vein made a small but audible pop, “Yeah. So sorry if I’m not caught up to date with everything. Did-” Kisei threw a pointed thumb over his shoulder, towards the office his instructor walked into, “-He recently become Hokage or something?” The Ushinatta blacksmith questioned, innocently oblivious to the pooling laughter behind the woman’s cheeks. “No, he stepped down from being Hokage. They were the Thirteenth Hokage, Lord Takao Kimura.” She beamed. Kisei’s eyes blew wide open.

For some reason he couldn’t wait to get home to the Leaf Village and ‘work’ on a certain machine of his.
