Round One: Kizmaru vs. Uchiha Aikiko IYbJonR

Entered from the North and South, this dusty arena is beset by howling, gale force winds from the East to West. Contestants in this arena running in the same direction of the wind have their speed increased by 10m/s, while those moving against the current will have their movement speed decreased by 10m/s. This effect is conferred to projectiles and jutsu speeds alike. However, these winds are not natural, and instead generated by jutsu used by proctors instructed to change the direction of the gust: each posting round, the direction of the wind reverses (East to West, then West to East, then East to West again, etc)

Kizmaru Uchiha

Kizmaru Uchiha

This is it, he thought to himself. He's taken the first step to his path of becoming a great shinobi. It all started with this exam. The sound of the match beginning, the roar of crowds surrounding the outside of the arena. The time of year where hundreds would go to another's village to witness or partake in the legendary, Chuunin exams. It was the most enjoyed time of the year from young to old alike where they get to spectate the birth of potential, young and great shinobi. Entering from the north entrance of this arena, Kizmaru stepped in full of confidence, from the way he was clutching his left arm with his right, rotating his left hand to loosen his wrist out. He's never been in an official match before and was eager to see what he could do here after all the training he's put himself through. Regardless, he signed up and came to the exams with the intention of winning and he wasn't gonna back down regardless of who his opponent was. He was excited but he remained calm knowing, if he got ahead of himself it would be his downfall. The first thing he noticed was the wind was abnormally powerful despite it being an enclose arena. He wasn't sure of this a natural thing, created by some kind of strange device or made with a jutsu as a sort of detrimental environment for the combatants. Either way, it may or may not prove useful to him in the near future.

He walked a bit further into the arena from the north entrance to an open area with a couple of bushes scattered. There were at least seven of them in the general area he had chosen to start in. He was roughly eighteen meters away from the entrance he had came through but he believe this would be a good start to start in. He relaxed a bit and assumed his combat stance, outstretching his left arm a few inches from his chest with an open hand, curling his fingers as well as outstretching his right almost double the length, also with open curling his fingers whilst bending his knees as well, completing the stance. He took a few practice swings as well to make sure he was in top form, which of course he was. Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself for the fight that was to ensue. Now then, all he had to do was wait for his opponent to arrive to the battle and begin the match. He had hoped it would be soon, he'd like to get this over with as quickly as possible.

The opening day of the Chunin Exam finals was finally here. Aikiko had breezed her way through the trials along with the rest of the tournament participants the young woman couldn't help but assume this would be as easy as the rest of the challenges she'd faced thus far. Hastur had blessed her participation in these Konoha exams so of course she would do spectacularly it was her destiny to succeed. The young Uchiha had chosen to honor her leader by wearing a brilliant yellow kimono, the fact that her outfit was totally devoid of the Uchiha war fan was in her mind the greatest honor she could give the man who called himself a god. Today was a day for her to represent her village and her Raikage not to further the exaltation of her illustrious clan. Aikiko would do her best to fulfill the duty she held. Anything short of total victory would be shameful. Here she stood at the entrance to the arena about to face down what she was convinced was a victory she was yet to win. On the small of her back was the sword she'd trained so heavily with above that was five large shuriken sharpened at the tip. The young raven haired Uchiha took deep breaths calm her mind, focusing it on the task at hand.

The start of the battle was signaled and Aikiko burst into the arena, with her sharingan active Aikiko rushed into the arena eyes locked on her opponent. Who he was didn't matter, what mattered was that he was an obstacle to her victory. Aikiko trotted up to about fifteen meters away from of her opponent into a clearing. The wind was strong and moving across her face at a good rate of speed she could probably use this to her advantage if she needed to resort to it but for now she'd track him with her sharingan ready to respond if she needed to, she flowed a small amount of chakra into the shuriken on the bottom of the stack that was touching her back and gather futon charka in her mouth before letting out a loud whistle in his direction before throwing one of the other large shuriken on her back at his chest.

Name: A windy day
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Element: Fuuton
Range: 40m
Specialty: Genjutsu
Duration: 3 Posts
Cooldown: 6 Posts
Description: This technique deafens up to 3 targets in range by making them only able to hear very loud wind. This can be negated by perception of B rank or higher. Aikiko will gather Fuuton chakra in her mouth and let out a loud whistle, capable of being heard up to 40m away at a speed of 25 m/s. This will put people other than the caster under the technique’s effect. Can be ended by C rank damage.

Name: Substitution Technique (変わり身の術 ~ Kawarimi no Jutsu)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: One prepared item in the user's clear line of sight.
Speciality: Ninjutsu.
Duration: 1 post preparation. Infinite postponement, Instant activation.
Cooldown: 6 posts after activation.
Description: The Substitution Technique is an age-old skill which enables the user to evade the effects of an attack by switching with an item in the area. (The item---or substantial clone---used for a Substitute must be as large as the user's torso, and must be prepared at least 1 post in advance by infusing it with 5 chakra.) Activating this jutsu for another 5 chakra, the ninja moves at untraceable speed for just a moment, and the item does so as well to take the user's place; the ninja leaves behind a flickering after-image for a second, which, if damaged, releases the chakra which holds it in place in a small smoke cloud, revealing the nature of the technique and the item they have switched with. Higher-rank ninjas' afterimages are able to show some of the signs of natural impact as if it were an actual human, if only for a very short period, before 'poofing'. The user coming out of the technique creates a similar audio and visual cue with a small cloud of translucent smoke and a 'poofing' sound on appearance in the location of the item they Substituted with. This technique causes the user to move at speeds untraceable to human perception, and therefore even the user cannot coordinate attacks during the Kawarimi, or activate any other jutsu. They, however, can maneuver near someone and then attack them after the fast-movement is finished.

One Tomoe: Able to awaken the first and most immature stage of the Sharingan with their pain, enabling them to see chakra flow within living beings as blurry coloured light within 15m, however not through dense solid materials such as armour. At this rank, the user receives a +1 tier bonus to their perception and is capable of utilizing the Copy Wheel to mimic D rank and lower Techniques.

-5 chakra per post.

Kizmaru Uchiha

Kizmaru Uchiha

Kizmaru had finished throwing the practice blows when his opponent was approximately twenty five meters away and resumed his stance. He then watched her to see where she would stop and what her first course of action would be. So, it seems the woman was fifteen meters away from Kizmaru. That was a pretty good distance for mid-ranged combat. The strong, gale force winds that were initially blowing East to West were now blowing from West to East and Kizmaru made a mental note of it. He was definitely gonna use it in his favor now. Kizmaru wasn't sure how it would play into her offensive strategy but he remained on guard to see what came next. Keeping his eyes on his opponent, Kizmaru watched her perform some sort of jutsu in his general direction. He wasn't sure what happened in all honesty, to him it just looks like she was whistling. He noticed the sound of the wind increased, but the feeling of it on his skin did not change, and that it was a strange occurrence. He didn't know what kind of strange technique this was but he would be sure to remain on guard for anything out of the ordinary. He continued to watch the female as she got ready to throw one of her shuriken at him. This was a rather odd attack pattern. Kizmaru was starting to have some doubts on whether she had a brain or not. Still, she may have some trick up her sleeve that she may know and he doesn't. The shuriken that was thrown at him was thrown vertically at him, had started to deviate to the east from it's course due to the strong winds cause by the effect of the arena. Kizmaru then pivots, sliding about half a meter to the west, effortlessly evading the shuriken with little wasted movement. Shortly after evading, Kizmaru advanced towards the woman, at moderate running speed for seven meters before stopping and taking up his stance once more. His eyes were locked on her center of gravity, making sure that he could react at any sudden deviations.

Aikiko’s opening attack predictably missed, only fool would be struck by such a simple maneuver. It did however help the young lady gauge her opponent’s response and notice he definitely couldn’t react as quickly as she could. Aikiko made a half bird hand seal and flowed futon chakra into the sword sheathed on her back and then grabbed two more Shuriken, one of which being the one directly touching her back and tossed them towards her opponent. This time, the young woman had attached chakra strings to the weapons. The young man could be no more than 10 meters away from her as she guided the pair of weapons towards her opponent using the green chakra strings, the weapons would be much more accurate this time with the aid of the chakra strings. The pair of bladed disks approached from two sides in a wide arc, the one coming from the west towards her opponent moved much quicker than the other shuriken that was imbued with the Uchiha’s chakra. Aikiko’s Sharingan would make it a simple matter to guide the weapons into her foe’s torso.

Name: Howling Sheath
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Element: Futon
Range: See text
Specialty: Chakra Flow
Duration: Maintainable
Cooldown: Duration + 2 Posts.
Description: After making the bird hand sign, the user flows chakra into their weapon of choice imbuing it with Futon chakra. When they swing their weapon the chakra becomes active surrounding their weapon in razor winds. These winds extend up to 5 meters out from the path of the weapon's strike at a speed of 20 mps. Name: Puppet Technique (Kugutsu no Jutsu ~ 傀儡の術)
Canon/Custom: Canon.
Rank: E.
Type: Supplementary.
Element: None.
Range: 30m.
Specialty: Kugutsu.
Duration: -5 per post
Cooldown: Duration +1 post.
Description: This jutsu generates long, fibrous, malleable chakra strings from each of the user's fingers. They are partially intangible to prevent tangling; this jutsu cannot be used to bind people. The condensed chakra takes a hue of variable color depending on the user. Use of this technique on puppets is only available to those with the Kugutsu specialty. However, people without skill in Puppetry can still generate chakra strings to control weapons they have the specializations to wield, within 30m. This consists of whipping them around like a flail or yo-yo, or controlling their path of travel when thrown. Unless durability is enhanced by a separate technique, these chakra strings can be broken by any D rank technique that causes blunt force, cutting, or piercing damage.

This technique cannot control living people; it can only control corpses, or Human Puppets currently in the user's locker.

3 Types of Strings:
The following applies not to the rank of the jutsu, but rather the rank and the skill level of the user.

Multiple control:
The chakra strings at this rank are more tailored to controlling the base functions of many puppets as opposed to putting an astounding amount of effort into the control of few. Using this technique depending on the user's rank they are able to control up to 10 puppets, though the trade off is each of them operate at the user's speed and reaction time, -1 rank. (Stat increases from items and jutsu do not count towards this. However, those from clans do.)

E rank = 2 puppets
D rank = 3
C rank = 4
B rank = 6
A rank = 8
S rank = 9
SS rank = 10

Balanced Control:
Using more focused control on the puppets the user wields they are able to focus more into their puppets movement, and therefore they no longer receive the negative influence to their speed that the mass control strings had. However, the puppets still receive -1 to reaction time and less puppets are able to operate at this capacity per rank.
E-C rank = Max of 2 puppets
B-A rank 4
S-SS rank = 5

Focused control:
The user, with these strings, is able to literally control their puppets with such mastery as if they were basically human themselves. The concentration at this level requires they dedicate themselves into only one or two puppets, but they operate without any negatives what so ever, and move at the user's speed and reaction times.
E-C rank = 1 Puppet max
B-SS rank = 2

Kizmaru continued paid close attention to his opponent as well as the flow of the winds. It seems the winds had changed to the initial direction of blowing East to West from West to East. Kizmaru wasn't fazed by this change as it seems this was natural for this arena. Still, there was the problem of another seal being used without knowing what it does as well as the two shuriken coming his way. He decided the best of action was to just deflect with a jutsu and advance. Dodging one was fine but he was worried about not being able to evade the other one in time since it seems the one from the east is moving faster due to being carried by the wind. He formed the seals for Snake, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger gathering flame chakra in his mouth and spewed flames from his mouth starting with the east shuriken first since that one is moving faster before concentrating his stream to the westward shuriken. He aimed carefully at the top of the shurikens so when the stream of flames hit, they would spiral down and crash into the ground in an attempt to lodge them in the ground. Kizmaru would then use this time to dash towards his opponent, traveling eight meters. When he was a few inches away from his opponent, Kizmaru reached out towards the female's shirt collar with both hands and pulled her towards his body while simultaneously falling backwards to the ground and lifting then pressing his leg on her lower abdomen. He curled his body on the floor and pushed his right leg into her lower abdomen while letting go, kicking her over his body. If this succeeds, Kizmaru would get up and resume his stance.

Aikiko recognized the jutsu the boy used to knock the faster shuriken down it was one devised by her own clan. The Sharingan was a powerful ally in combat allowing the young Uchiha to easily identify chakra build ups for jutsu. Her opponent curiously did not ready a jutsu before running straight at her. Aikiko focused on the distance between them and once he was a meter away from her she drew her blade and slashed upwards then horizontally sending two waves of cutting wind toward her opponent in a cross. Aikiko had been gauging his reactions and there was no way he'd have an answer this time the young woman was sure of it. The winds would tear the young man to pieces as he charged her unless he found some miracle way out.

Sharingan and Howling Sheath maintained.

Round One: Kizmaru vs. Uchiha Aikiko. The Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu has a range of 40 meters. This technique was cast in the flamethrower variant while 10 meters away from Aikiko, and then twists his head as to catch the two shuriken thrown at him in the stream of flames to stop their momentum. The flames would continue on past these shurikens without having its momentum deadened, and as the winds changed directions once again it would blow this jutsu towards Aikiko at 10 m/s faster than its usual speed, traveling at 30 m/s. Aikiko has a substitution present but did not use it in reaction to the fire-breath that would be traveling at her. The Howling Sheath that she had active on her weapon would additionally not stand to the Great Fireball Jutsu, losing out from the interactions of elemental natures. Based on the ignored Great Fireball Jutsu, Aikiko would take the brunt of the flames.

Based on this, Kizmaru wins the round.
