Mission:
Mission name: Patrol Duty (Repeatable)
Mission rank: C
Objective: Patrol your village.
Location: Konoha
Reward: 300
Mission description: You've been pulled for Patrol duty. Your job is simple, you are to patrol the area you've been assigned looking for any sort of danger or anything that looks out of the ordinary.
Mission details: Your village is a little short handed and so you've been pulled for patrol duty. Your shift is from eleven at night to seven in the morning. You're to patrol the area you've been assigned, which is to your choosing, and ensure that everything is okay. About halfway through your shift you'll come across an Academy student breaking curfew and have to send him on his way, but other than that you won't run into any trouble except for maybe a 'ninja' attack from a local street cat.

Sunadokei let out a yawn, raising her hand to cover her mouth as she did. It was early in the morning, and she was honestly sleepy again from a hearty breakfast shared with her family. Akimichi breakfasts were... considerable affairs, effectively small feasts. Meat, eggs, and baked goods that took an hour to prepare and only a fraction of that time to devour. But, they were good bonding, and one of the few times during the day Sunadokei got to actually sit down and chat with her parents and siblings. Sadly though, that time was gone, and only the memories and a belly full of bacon and eggs remained. Instead, the young Akimichi woman was standing patiently in line at the Mission Assignment Desk, awaiting whatever task the Jōnin delegating the missions granted her today. It seemed like a slow day, and most of the assignments being delegated were very humdrum. Guard this, escort that, inspect this, find that. Good, Sunadokei thought to herself. She wanted something easy to do, she was in no mood today for anything strenuous. Truthfully she just wanted to go lie down somewhere and take a nap.

"Akimichi, Sunadokei." The Jōnin proctor called her name, snapping her back to attention. Sunadokei stepped forward, giving a short bow as she did so.

"In the flesh." She said cheerfully, silently hoping she was granted a lowly D-Rank mission she could knock out in an hour or so and go home. Something to put a little spending money in her pockets to buy lunch, but nothing enough to be considered actual work.

"Patrol Duty." The Jōnin replied simply, tossing the Mission Scroll nonchalantly for the Akimichi to catch. Sunadokei tried to hide her excitement at the words. Most people dreaded patrol duty. It consisted mostly of marching along the village border wall or combing the street looking for any sign of trouble. Most found it mindlessly dull, but this was exactly the kind of idle busywork that most Genin dreaded. They wanted action and excitement, daring missions that tested their abilities and earned them credit to their name. Not Sunadokei, not today anyways. She had always been more of the notion quantity was the best quality after all. A hundred easy D-Rank missions was better than one A-Rank mission that nearly killed you. More importantly though, the large letter C on her mission scroll's seal informed her this was paying a cut above a D-Rank assignment for honestly near as much work.

"The village is a little short staffed right now. As a result the Konoha Military Police Force has requested we supplement their nightly patrols with Genin from our own ranks. I trust you have no objections to this mission?" The elder Jōnin said sternly as he shuffled through his paperwork, already pulling out the next assignment for the person in line behind Sunadokei. Meanwhile, Sunadokei herself could practically feel the lump fall into the pit of her stomach. One word he said hung in the air of her thoughts. 'Evening' patrols. She wanted to groan in frustration, but simply bowed again graciously after tucking away the mission scroll safely into her cleavage. While a frequent one to voice her criticisms, Sunadokei was far too respectful of her superiors to air her grievances so openly. Every mission, great or small, was of vital importance to the well being of the Village as a whole. Like bees in a hive, every shinobi had their part to do. Even if sometimes, they didn't like it. Especially if it meant ruining their sleep schedule and staying up all hours of the night.

"I have no issues, and I thank you for this mission. Now... I guess I'll go get some rest for tonight." Sunadokei said respectfully, before dismissing herself from the assignment chambers. Though she did let out an exasperated sigh the moment she was out of ear shot, visibly annoyed she'd been given the less desirable evening shift. Few shinobi preferred it, so much so evening patrol shifts were drawn by lottery to maintain an element of fairness to them. The nightly patrols were cold, often damp, and dreadfully boring. They consisted of little more than listening to alley cats rummaging through garbage cans or bats taking off for their evening hunts. Granted, when something did happen it tended to be more pressing. Few crimes happened boldly in broad daylight. But the day time patrol shifts were little better than paid breaks. Sunadokei would spend most of her patrols walking a circuit through her section of the village, hitting up every food cart and noodle shop along the way until she ended the day full and content. Nightly shifts offered no such opportunities.

So irritated was Sunadokei that she went straight home and right back to bed. Not that she slept, she mostly lounged in bed watching television until noon, at which point she ate lunch with her clan members that weren't out on their missions or schooling.  Following lunch, she did manage to catch a long nap awaking to find her old tomcat Bandit sleeping comfortably curled up in a ball atop her bust. She smiled, petting the aging feline and scratching behind his ears. He responded by purring in a low heavy rumbling as he often did. "Good kitty. I bet you'd like to keep me company tonight. Hokage knows, you need the exercise." She poked her cat playfully in his belly. Bandit followed the Akimichi tendencies to the letter, his diet 'supplemented' by both mice he caught himself and whatever table scraps he managed to steal. The old black cat meowed, annoyed at being poked but quickly returning to content purring. Sunadokei proceeded to rise from bed and scoop him into her arms, cradling him against her bust like a baby in her arms.

The afternoon passed without much note, Sunadokei's father would not be returning home for dinner. The head of the clan himself, her father Makaro had been recruited for an Ino-Shika-Cho squad, leading Chūnin of the Yamanaka and Nara clans respectively, rather than his own teammates of the respective clan heads. Apparently it was partially a training exercise, their first real taste of a B-Rank mission, and the Hokage had wanted a more experienced Jōnin to lead the squad. Makaro, natural leader that he was, had gladly obliged. What this all meant to Sunadokei was mostly that he mother pestered her with questions about what she'd been doing all day, lamenting the fact that her eldest daughter had not bothered to help her with any household chores. It made the younger Akimichi woman almost welcome the boredom of her nightly patrol. So Sunadokei buried her annoyance with food, if she was going to suffer through tonight she was going to do it on a full belly. A very full belly.

As the sun dropped from the sky and the moon rise to take its place, the hour drew closer. Once it was half past ten Sunadokei decided she better pack her things and head out. Seeing as it was evening, and a bit windy she adjusted her usual attire accordingly. The curvy kunoichi threw a warm black undershirt on beneath her purple kimono, with a cloth wrap about her bust and midsection. She opted to go with her usual open fingered gloves, in spite of the evening chill. She couldn't snack as easily in bulkier gloves. Lastly, Sunadokei made good on her threats to her cat. She scooped up Bandit in her arms and carried him out the door. Her pet cat was smart, and wouldn't wander far from her once she was patrolling. Though she cradling him in her arms as the shinobi woman darted across rooftops making for her destination.

The area Sunadokei had been assigned to was a residential sector of the village, southwest of the Academy grounds and not far from some of the main thoroughfares. Sadly though, it was quiet and empty, void of anything interesting when she arrived. Sunadokei spotted the previous shift's Genin shitting around on a couple overturned milk crates on a street corner playing a card game as they waited for the next shift to relieve them. Sunadokei joined them, sitting down on her pillowy rear as she sat cross legged and made pleasant small talk. When the hour struck eleven though, the sound of the large clock tower on the Academy informed the Genin their time in the trenches was up. Sunadokei wished them well, waving as they left and rising back to her feet.

Sunadokei let out a sigh, standing there leaned against a brick wall. It seemed her shift partner hadn't arrived yet, she'd give them a few minutes and then start her patrol without them if they didn't show up. Her cat Bandit purred and walked in circles weaving between her legs, brushing against her lovingly as he did. Sunadokei slid her mission scroll out from its resting place in between her cleavage, unfurling it to double check her mission one last time. Yup, this was the correct time, and street corner for them to rendezvous at. "I'll give them three minutes." She said to Bandit, as Sunadokei retrieved a candy bar from one of her pockets to munch on. In spite of the fact she was visibly quite bloated from dinner, looking nearly full term pregnant with her distended belly, Sunadokei's appetite was rarely ever truly sated for long. She had brought ample snacks for the evening. More than enough to make up for any calories she would likely burn off during eight hours of patrolling. Now she only needed wait for her partner to arrive. Then the real boredom could begin.

Hina stood alone in one of the wilderness about a quarter mile away from the village. She'd found this place not long ago and he was starting to spread out from the city. It was unfortunate that there wasn’t much civilization outside of Konoha in this direction, but sometimes that was a blessing in disguise. She smiled when she remembered his first time making it here. The smile, however, quickly disappeared. She’d only come by here because she had been on a mission and was on her way back to the village. She took a few steps into the clearing and was amazed to still find some rusted old shuriken scattered about, one of which was dug deeply into a tree. That had been her own work, she'd always been a bad shot, although it wasn’t for lack of trying. This place had remained undisturbed for a couple days, she guessed. Otherwise the shuriken would be gone, or at least new shuriken would be lying around.

After a few moments of inspection, Hina found the logs she had cut in order for her to practice what a sensei had once described to her as 'a shinobi’s most useful skill', . Hina remembered her first attempt, and to say the least, it hadn't been especially pleasant. She recalled sprinting like crazy and tripping over a stray rock. That was a skinned knee the likes of which he'd never forget. Moving forward, her foot tripped something. She'd forgotten about the various traps she had set up in order to test her reflexes. She guessed she was about to be tested. Hina learned a long time ago that, when it came to tripwires, it was better to act, rather than think. her body already forming the memories of where they were located by the time the voice in the back of her head started to tell her to run.

With a loud snapping sound, a large log came swinging down from the branches of the trees, determined to crush the shinobi in the clearing. Hina, on the other hand, had other plans. She’d feel the ground underneath her feet tremble as he pleaded them for help. She knew what she needed was an earth jutsu to save the day, however she still had yet to learn one. She had to jump. As she lifted, she saw another trap go off and a shuriken soared through the air, embedding itself right into the wooden pillar. Now that she had finally made it through her self made mine field of sorts, she was finally safe to proceed back to Konoha. She pulled out a piece of paper that detailed shift duties and used her pointer finger to scroll down to her own name. She moved her finger across and lined it up to the current date and her heart sank. She was supposed to be on night shift patrol duty! And she was still all filthy from her last mission! Hina cursed herself and made her way back to the village at top speed.

Upon arriving in the village, Hina started looking around to see exactly where she was supposed to be patrolling for the night. It looked like she had a partner too, if the paperwork was correct. Supposedly they were supposed to patrol a residential area which meant that there probably wasn’t much danger to contend with. Why this was a C rank mission at all was beyond Hina, but she wasn’t going to complain about the free money. Perhaps it paid out a lot because nobody wanted to work the stupid night shift. One thing was for sure, she was going to have difficulty staying awake this whole time without any caffeine running through her veins. She was already feeling a bit groggy with the night creeping up on her so she took a power nap on a park bench until about ten forty five. Then she made her way to the meet up point, not caring in the least that she was a little late.

“Hey, are you my patrol buddy?” She asked Sunadokei as she approached her. She didn’t immediately notice the cat between her legs, but Hina waved to it all the same when she got closer. Now that they were close, Hina noticed that the other woman was having quite a time of eating a lot. There was only one clan that Hina knew that liked to eat a lot, but she thought it would be a bit rude to assume that she was part of ‘that’ clan. “I’m Hina Bravehart,” she would introduce herself, “shall we begin? What’s your name? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you around town before.” Seeing all that food made Hina remember that she hadn’t eaten since breakfast and her stomach growled. This was going to be a looooong night.

Sunadokei

Sunadokei

D-rank
Sunadokei was just about ready to pack up her things and start her patrol without her partner, when the woman finally made herself known. She caught her moving out the corner of her eye, and spun on the balls of feet to face her. The curvaceous kunoichi took one final bite of her latest candy bar, barely chewing before swallowing her chocolate treat. She nonchalantly discarded the wrapper in a trash bin besides her, before moving to greet her partner properly. "In the flesh." She replied sarcastically to the question if she was the stranger's patrol partner.

As they spoke, Sunadokei caught her partner's eyes wandering towards her midsection. She instantly became more self conscious, her cheeks flushing red for a brief moment. Normally Sunadokei was quiet confident in her figure, particularly her weight, especially given the way her kekkei genkai allowed her to slim down to her normal, absurdly curvaceous self with minimal effort. But, this woman was quiet the beauty in and of herself. She was a good deal shorter than the Akimichi woman, and probably half her weight if Sunadokei was being honest with herself. With long black hair, and angelic face, and an even more revealing outfit than Sunadokei's, the young woman left very little to the imagination. Even though clearly disheveled from a busy day, she cut quiet the striking visage. Sunadokei then caught herself staring at the stranger's bare midriff, and worse, flat stomach.

It suddenly made the Akimichi pang with a flare of jealousy, her own distended midsection making her feel like a whale being compared to a mermaid. She buried her emotions though, telling herself she was better than that. This was no place to be so petty, especially over something so trivial. Besides, Sunadokei's 'extra padding' was a vital reserve of extra chakra if they got attacked. Could this stranger say the same for her toned abs? Unlikely. Sunadokei extended her hand to shake in greeting while the woman introduced herself. "Pleased to meet you Hina..." There was a pause, as she reflected on the stranger's surname. "Bravehart? That's not a clan name is it, it's an honorific." She withdrew her hand as they finished their handshake, folding her arms crossed beneath her massive bust as the shinobi leaned back against the wall again. "I bet there's quite the story there."

"I'm Sunadokei Akimichi, heiress to the main branch of the Akimichi line." It filled her with great pride to introduce herself as such given any chance she could get. The Akimichi were one of the four Noble Houses of Konohagakure, and with the near total destruction of the Uchiha clan in the last few centuries, this left them as one of the three strongest clans in the village politically. Not that any of this mattered much to Sunadokei, politics was for old men with nothing better to do. There was a meow from between her legs, and Sunadokei looked down to see her black cat's piercing green eyes staring up at them. "And this is my cat, Tōzoku..." She said as she leaned down to scoop the fat tomcat into her arms, cradling him like a baby against her chest as he purred loudly. "...Handsome little devil isn't he? He needed the exercise, and I figured nothing interesting or remotely dangerous would ever happen on a Tuesday night in the middle of spring. So I decided to bring him along." Sunadokei proceeded to scratch under her cat's chin, muttering baby talk to him about how he's a good kitty before setting him back down.

It was then she heard Hina's stomach rumbling, audibly protesting its emptiness. Sunadokei's eyes practically flashed in the darkness, a Cheshire smile forming across her face. She reached into a hip pocket and withdrew several protein bars, holding them out for her partner to take. "Here Hina, have a few of these. Meal replacement bar, it's got chocolate and peanut butter and granola mostly, plenty of protein and vitamins too. They're pretty good." She unwrapped one for herself, devouring half of it in one greedy bite. "If we had a daytime shift, I know a great ramen shop that would have been open... It's just two blocks up the road, on the corner of Hidako and Surabi street."

She shrugged to herself, downing the rest of the bar with a loud gulp. "Buuuut, everything but the sake bars are closed at this hour, and we are not doing that on patrol. So those are the best I can do." She smiled playfully, giving her stomach a loving pat. "Careful though, eat too many and you'll end up looking like me. Not that I think that's a bad thing..." Sunadokei gave Hina a teasing wink, truly she was shameless, before turning to walk slowly off in the opposite direction. The Akimichi kanji for 'food' was emblazoned in red on the backside of her kimono, and the curvaceous kunoichi walked with a pronounced sway to her hips. Her cat Tōzoku trotted along contently besides her, never straying far from her feet. "Like you said, we should probably get started. We're a little behind schedule. We need to finish our first sweep by midnight, and I'm in no mood to rush ourselves..." The Akimichi said as she began casually strolling down the sidewalk, waiting for her partner to keep pace.

Patrol Duty (Mission | Invite | No Kill) YipQ0I3

Hina felt Sunadokei’s eyes sizing her up as they made their introductions. Hina rarely compared herself aesthetically with other shinobi because they weren’t her typical competition. All that being said, Hina couldn’t deny that she envied her partner just a little. There was something to be said about being able to put on weight and accentuate certain features. A kunoichi could be beautiful but more likely than not they would be too busy with missions to ever be a threat to the market Hina catered to in her free time. She was much more wary of the non-shinobi who had all day to doll up and put even Hina to shame. Speaking of which, this was about that time where she would have gone out on her own and found her first customer. This made Hina wonder why she had even agreed to be put on this schedule because, news flash, patrol work paid a lot less than her side job. The thought of this put a sour taste in Hina’s mouth but she wouldn’t let it show.

Hina shrugged off the comment about her name and wouldn’t care much that her partner was an Akimichi. Bloodlines and clans rarely interested Hina because she grew up assuming that she lacked any notable heritage. She had recently found out that her origins were Senju, but that was a fact she kept close to heart and wouldn’t advertise until she could demonstrate some proficiency with mokuton jutsu. Her family must have had some reason to keep their origins secret as Hina’s parents didn’t even know they had Senju blood in them. She was very content with waving hello to the cat again and commenting, “he is handsome! He makes me want to get one of my own… I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a pet recently, I just can’t seem to make up my mind as to what to get though! I was thinking about one that could keep me company on my boring days working in the kage’s office.” Hina was, after all, Takao’s one and only assistant. It wasn’t as interesting as it sounded and often invited long stretches of boredom.

Hina accepted a single bar graciously and said, “thank you! I owe you for this!” Maybe if they passed a shop that was open this late she could get her something in return. “Alright, let’s get going,” Hina would say as she thought about stuff to talk about. Talking was really the only thing to do to make the night pass by. Nothing had ever happened on any nighttime patrol that Hina had ever been on so what could possibly be different about today? “How are you coming along with your Aikimichi techniques? I heard your clan is a force to be reckoned with even as Genin.“ Hina felt obligated to talk about the woman’s clan since she had seemed so proud of it. Perhaps this was just the opportunity she needed to learn a little more about it.

A couple hours through their walk a pair of cats would run up to attack poor little Tozoku from behind. As they were shinobi, Hina and her partner would be able to hear the cats coming before they could do any damage. The only question was, would they be fast enough to react? Now could be Tozoku’s opportunity to shine and show what he was made of! Hina would turn and not even know how to react to the image of two stray cats running at them. It wouldn’t even cross her mind that they would be after her partner’s pet.

Sunadokei's face lit up when her partner commented so positively on her cat. She turned to scoop him up into her arms again, cradling poor Tōzoku like a baby flush against her chest. This time he was less content to be held, mewing to be put down so he could return to sniffing through things and exploring at his leisure. The fat old tom cat had been doted on enough for his tastes already tonight. "I'm so glad you agree." Sunadokei said gushingly, running a hand along her cat's luxurious black fur as she cradled him. "I'm a cat person at heart, I love cats. I couldn't think of having another pet. Tōzoku here was my fifth birthday present from my father. weren't you you little devil." Sunadokei nuzzled her face against her cat's, and he surprisingly started purring and ceased squirming as much. Tōzoku had apparently decided he did in fact enjoy being held, or maybe he just liked the family smell of his mistress as she invaded his small bubble of personal space.

"My father found a litter of kittens sleeping in the stables. He kept the momma cat for himself, and gave my siblings and I one each. Lucky timing it was right before my birthday. I've had Tōzoku ever since, though he's an old man kitty these days aren't you?" More playful snuggling, though now met by squirms and mews. Sunadokei sighed and set her cat down once more. He looked indignant, licking at his paw as if pretending he'd never been picked up at all. Sunadokei just sighed, shaking her head at the display. "Anyways, if I got another pet it'd totally be another cat. But... I can see how you'd have a tough time choosing. Several of my brothers have dogs, and one of my little sisters has a rabbit. Personally, I think bunnies are far too dumb and poop too much. At least cats are smart and can be litter trained..." Sunadokei was less than fond of her sister's rabbit, so much so she usually referred to it as the poop machine.

Sunadokei did raise an eyebrow though at the rest of her partner's comment. "Wait, Hina you work at the Hokage's office? Are you like, his secretary or something?" The Akimichi woman knew the Kage had many aids and assistants, he was a very busy man after all. Running the entire village was a daunting task, one Sunadokei did not envy him for. Admittedly, she'd never had reason to go to the Hokage's office directly, so she had no clue or his assistants were or how many she had. But, she still hazarded a guess. "I'm a little envious, I'm not gonna lie." Sunadokei admitted, withdrawing another candy bar from her pockets and unwrapping it as she spoke. "My father is a Jōnin, and a clan head. So naturally he has a place on the Hokage's council alongside the other respective clan leaders. I'd love to join him someday, I know it'd make him proud."

Sunadokei tossed the last third of her snack into the air, opening her mouth wide and swallowing it up with a loud chomp. "But, I'm only a Genin at the moment. Missed the last Chūnin exams by no one's fault but my own. Even though I'm overqualified to be a Genin..." The young woman sounded slightly bitter about her choices, but, the past was in the past. She couldn't change it, only move forward and work to avoid such mistakes in the future. She did perk up though with her next point. "One day though, when dad's old and grey and I'm running the clan and a Jōnin in my own right, I'll have his seat at the council. And I'll be damn sure to do my clan proud when I do." Her ambitions were great, and her determination towards clan and honor was a major driving force in the buxom Akimichi woman's life. In her eyes, even something as seemingly pointless and mundane as an evening patrol mission was another important stepping stone towards her goals.

When Hina thanked Sunadokei for the snack, the young woman merely raised her hand to gesture no. "No no, it's fine Hina. No thanks needed. I've got plenty of snacks... well not plenty for both of us. Plenty for me, but I'm still happy to share. Grandfather always said that 'food tastes better when shared with others.' He had a lot of those sayings... I could have write a book on them. Someone in my clan probably did at one point." Sunadokei grinned at her comment, rubbing a hand against the back of her head. It was quite true though, and the Akimichi clan strove towards generosity despite their reputations as gluttons. It was that very reputation that made them go the distance to avoid being likened as greedy or selfish. Food held a special place in their hearts, but hardly the only place.

Talking was really the only way to pass the time, and it did help. As the two young beauties chatted they passed down empty streets, only torch lights and the moon above to light their way. It was peaceful at night, the entire village seemingly asleep, though both knew that was hardly true. Only the sounds of distant alley cats, pests like raccoons rummaging through garbage, and the barking of stray dogs seemed to break up the silence beyond their own voices. Sunadokei turned to her partner and grinned widely, eager to answer her latest question. "You heard right Hina, we are quite the force to be reckoned with. Not to brag but, I had the most strength and the best Taijutsu of anyone in my graduating class at the Academy..." There was a slightly pause before she continued. "My Genjutsu sucked though... not that its much better now."

"Anyways, I'm coming along well with my hiden techniques. Our clan has... many, and that's still an understatement. Calorie Control makes manipulating the calories in my body second nature to me. Watch." Sunadokei held up her hand, clenching it into a fist. Without muttering a word her fist grew to the size of her head, and her arm began elongating until it doubled in size. Suddenly it went slack, like it was a great noodle made of rubber. Then in an instant it shrank back down and returned to normal. "See? Easy. We can do basic manipulations without needing a proper jutsu, changing size, density, or length in small amounts. Beyond a certain threshold it requires substantially more chakra though, and ours always jutsu always incorporate our special seal to help transform calories into additional chakra." Sunadokei unwrapped another candy bar, gobbling it up more quickly than usual. "Even a basic demonstration like that takes a good bit of calories. If I'm going on a serious mission, something with real risk of combat or injury, I make a point to eat as much as I humanely can before hand. More food, more calories, more chakra, more jutsu, it's that simple. Even if it does slow me down a bit until I burn through the excess."

Sunadokei was rambling by this point, but she was just happy to talk. It killed time and let her stroke her own ego. "I'm still a novice at utilizing my Kekkai Genkai though, but my father says my fundamentals are good. I'm best at using my Human Bullet Tank technique... even if I don't like what it does to my figure." Sunadokei said dryly as she stepped away from her partner into the middle of the street. "Observe." She stated calmly, throwing up the hand seals for the Ram and then the Ox. "Human Bullet Tank Technique!" Sunadokei declared, a rush of chakra flooding into her midsection. With a sudden poof she ballooned up into a near perfect sphere three meters across. Her arms and legs sticking comically out the sides, like stems on a very round fruit. "If I ever actually get this fat... put me on a diet." Sunadokei joked sarcastically, before tucking her head and limbs into her clothes as she began to spin in place rapidly. The cement beneath her cracked slightly under her newfound weight, normally she was more careful with her techniques. Her Kekkai Genkai meant massive increases to weight and density were common, and it was easy to cause property damage as a result. But, alone and bored she'd let it slide for her demonstration.

The purple boulder of a woman took off with surprising speed, accelerating up to fifty five meters a second after a hundred meters or so. Sunadokei rolled her way to the nearest intersection, using the large space to do a wide U-turn before racing back down the block towards her partner. She barreled towards Hina like she intended to run her over, only to suddenly pop back into her usual curvy self in a poof of smoke a few meters from impact, jogging casually until she reached her friend's side. "It's super fun rolling around, don't get me wrong. Hits like a truck too. There's a trick to it though, one most don't consider. You have to increase the size of the little bones in your inner ear that affect your sense of balance. Without enhancing them you can't get your barring during the rotations, and you'll just make yourself sick." Sunadokei pointed to her ear, not like Hina could see the far inside it.

Sunadokei reached for more candy bars, eager to offset what calories she'd consumed during her little demonstration. "So Hina, what kind of jutsu do you specialize in? I'm not gonna lie with your figure, I bet you work out constantly." She said after swallowing, already unwrapping another bar. "I'm gonna guess your Taijutsu is pretty fierce as a result." As she asked her question Sunadokei heard a couple alley cats hissing in the distance. She figured they were just fighting and paid it no mind. She was more interested in her conversation with Hina. The two strays however, were territorial males more interested in her own cat. They hissed and bared their claws charging her poor Tōzoku thinking him a rival on their turf. The elderly tom cat puffed up his fur, practically doubling in his and arching his back. He hissed loudly, standing his ground as the two strays charged him.

Sunadokei realized what was happening, and took action immediately. "Hey! Stay away from him you damn strays." She yelled to no avail, the cats still poised to strike her own kitty. They lunged into the air, and at the same time the Akimichi woman reacted. She swatted out with her right arm, as it stretched and grew in size as it had before. The two cats were intercepted, sinking their claws and fangs into the flesh of her enlarged hand. Sunadokei swore, flicking her wrist and sending the two strays crashing into a pile of garbage bags heaped on the street for collection that morning. The alley cats, not expecting to get thrown like that, bolted immediately making their way down an alley towards who knows where. Tōzoku remained puffed and alert, hissing at them every step of the way as they ran. He watched their last position nervously for a bit, before finally accepting they were gone. His fur settled back down, and the cat practically had a smirk on his face as he proudly trotted back to the two women. Tōzoku proceeding to walk between Hina's legs, affectionately headbutting her shins to claim her with his scent.

"Hey you old jerk, where's my appreciation?" Sunadokei said with a huff, rolling her eyes as her cat completely ignored his savior. She held out her hand to look at, a number of deep scratches and bite marks bled heavily. "One nice thing about my Kekkai Genkai..." She stated, her limb shrinking back down to normal proportions. "Any injuries I take will shrink to scale when I revert to my usual self. It's good for mitigating a lot of damage." True to her word, the deep gashes and punctures were little better than pinpricks and paper cuts with Sunadokei's hand returned to normal size. She reached for her pocket, unraveling some bandage wraps to dress her hand. "I'll have to wash this when I get home... damn strays always have diseases. Anyways, where were we? Oh yeah. You were telling me about your jutsu..."

Hina didn’t think she had ever had a more talkative mission partner before. Not to say that that was bad, but Hina definitely wasn’t used to talking so much with her partners. She had grown accustomed to small talk and just letting her imagination take over while boring missions just passed by into the part of her brain that threw memories into the trash. Yet now she felt her attention was constantly occupied to a point where she was focusing more on Sunadokei than she was actually looking for trouble. Well, so long as no higher ranking shinobi were going to see them and rat them out for too much chit chat, Hina guessed she didn’t care.

“Aww, I wish I got cool gifts like that! My family never really had money for gifts, although maybe they just don’t like pets. A cat couldn’t be that expensive!” Hina felt flustered talking about money, especially since she was the one who had brought it up. Here she was talking to a member of one of the wealthier clans about not having money. If Sunadokei knew what Hina had to do to be able afford her lifestyle, she would probably have a completely different opinion on poor little Hina.

“Yeah, I guess I would get a cat too. I don’t have the energy to go running with a dog and a cat could just nuzzle up in my pocket.” Hina imagined having a cat for a couple minutes and wasn’t sure if it would really be worth the extra hair. Her attention was broken by another question, this time about her job that she had mentioned. “I don’t know what I’d call myself,” Hina said with a shrug, “I just do whatever he tells me to.” She guessed that everyone in the village did whatever the kage said so she felt she needed to be more specific, “like scheduling, making sure he’s on track, stuff like that.” Hina didn’t want to admit that she really was just a secretary. One day she might have been able to build up a relationship and do some actually important stuff, but for now she was a lowly peon.

“Well you look capable, and you showed up on time, I’m sure you’ll get there soon enough,” Hina joked regarding her partner’s comments about becoming a Jounin. “I’d be happy with just being a Chuunin so I could start doing some important missions.”

Hina had held onto the bar that she’d been given this whole time. Only now did she start nibbling on it. She could tell that these things really packed some calories and didn’t bother finishing more than a third of it. She didn’t have some magical ability to just shed calories like her friend here. She had to stick to a strict diet if she wanted to maintain her figure. She ended up wrapping it up and stuffing it into her pocket.

“Congratulations,” she’d say to Sunadokei’s brag, “I was probably one of the worst in my class if I had to be honest!” Then Sunadokei weint into an explanation and demonstration regarding her abilities as a Aikimichi. Hina had never seen it in person, but the human bullet tank really did live up to its name. Her partner turned into a sphere and shot off faster than Hina could ever hope to run and then turned around to come back without missing a beat. Hina was impressed and all, but she really only had one question. “So how do your clothes still fit after all that?”

Hina stood dumbfounded as Sunadokei grew a single part of her body and just swatted away some cats that had attacked. Well that was a lot simpler than Hina thought it would be. “Oh right, my jutsu. I have some genjutsu, like making flower smells. It’s nothing useful. I keep having this hope that some day I will find out that I have some kind of clan abilities and then focus on those. I’ve never been really good at anything except boxing and that’s not the most practical of fighting styles.”

They walked by a ramen place that was miraculously open at 2AM and Hina motioned to it. “It’s been a while, care to get something?” Hina wasn’t even hungry but she really could rest her legs.

Sunadokei

Sunadokei

D-rank
Sunadokei was slightly downtrodden when she heard her partner's comment on her familial situation, and their aversion to pets. She was instantly reminded not everyone was as well off as the Akimichi Clan was. Only three other clans in the village rivaled them in age, and of those one was nearly wiped out by conflict ages ago. She blushed slightly, a bit embarrassed by her brashness. "I'm sorry Hina. I didn't mean to boast. My parents teach us to live frugally and be generous despite my clan's wealth. Grandfather says it's because we're such gluttons, al it'd take is one greedy clan head to ruin our fortunes. Sometimes I think he's right..." Sunadokei would make it up to her new friend somehow, preferably tonight if she could.

"Cats are pretty great." Sunadokei added in rebuttal to Hina, "Though Tōzoku is a lot of work. I have to keep him on a strict diet so he doesn't get any fatter than he is. Even still he begs, steals table scraps, and sneaks out to hunt. Don't you my little devil?" She said in baby talk to her cat, who turned to stare at Sunadokei indignantly because continuing to walk along as if ignoring her. "He also sheds, a lot. I brush him every day if I can find the time, sometimes my mother brushes him too. It takes a lot of work to keep his coat looking so luxurious. It's worth not dealing with the hairballs though. They are... very gross." Sunadokei did not feel like elaborating on that. Pet ownership had its downsides, but it was paid back tenfold in the love she received from her beloved pet cat.

Sunadokei listened eagerly as Hina recounted what exactly she did for the Hokage. Nodding along in agreement she finally voiced her opinion. "It still sounds like you're Lord Hokage's secretary." She realized how blunt that was, and hurriedly corrected herself. "Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm kind of jealous to be honest. You've already got your foot in the door with the Hokage. Me? I'll have to ride off my father's coattails and my family name to gain any influence. I've never even met the Hokage, you know, face to face or anything. I've just seen him at formal events and any time he summons the clans for some important meeting." Sunadokei briefly thought to herself about Lord Kimura. He was a legendary futon user, regarded far and wide as the Dragon Sage for his connection to the mystical beasts. She'd love to study under him one day, and become a legendary fire release master in her own right.

Hina's comment that her partner seemed capable brought a smile to Sunadokei's face. "I like to think I'm quite capable too. I'm sure I'll get there too. Speaking of important missions, if you ever need an extra partner on one of those... feel free to look me up. Just, nothing in the desert at least. I boil in the heat, too much padding." Sunadokei joked, shaking her hips provocatively for her partner. She was mostly joking, but only mostly. In the same vein, Sunadokei was quick to note her friend barely touched the meal replacement bar she gave her. It seemed a waste to not eat it in one sitting, it was just gonna get hard and crunchy now that she'd unwrapped it. They were significantly better soft and chewy, at least in the Akimichi woman's opinion.

"Thank you Hina." She said simply in reply when her partner congratulated her on her Academy scores. "Those grades mean nothing though, you and I both know that. There's book smart, and street smart. Some students can memorize every question, but they're useless in the field. All that matters is that you don't stay at the bottom of your class. As long as you keep improving you'll get there one day." Sunadokei was full of advice, almost as much as she was full of food. Tonight that scale tipped more towards the former, for now at least.

"My clothes?" Sunadokei said questioningly when that was Hina's only comment in her Human Bullet Tank Technique. "I mean, we can't exactly go bursting our outfits every time we use a Jutsu, we'd be naked and useless. We have a secret clan technique for providing clothing, armor, and even weapons that can absorb some of the Ninjutsu chakra when we tap into our Kekkai Genkai, allowing them to change size with us. It doesn't work if we don't expel any chakra though... so if I eat enough I tend to swell up to the point my kimono gets rather tight. But it's sooo worth it." A glutton at heart, there were few things Sunadokei could resist as much as a big meal.

Sunadokei's ears perked at the word Genjutsu. "Really Hina? You're good at Genjutsu? That was my worst subject at the Academy. I'm just... I'm just awful at it. I've tried practicing, I've tried tutors. Nothing works, I just gave up on it. I'd rather focus on my Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, since that's what our hiden techniques are based off of when I tap into my Kekkai Genkai." She paused, rubbing her chin as she thought to herself. "Flowers huh? I bet you could do a lot with that. Deadly vines, poisonous thorns, lots of roses and lotus pedal techniques." She grinned, pointing to her partner's own considerable bust. "And, I bet you'd pull of a hell of a Geisha disguise with your figure. If you focused on it, I bet they'd have you assassinating politicians and crime lords in no time with your beauty. As for the boxing, it's only as impractical as you make it. My preferred fighting style is getting as big as a wagon and rolling around like a runaway boulder. Boxing seems reasonable compared to that." She had a good point, though neglected to tell her new friend her Taijutsu included several practical forms of martial arts for actual hand to hand combat.

Sunadokei had lost almost all track of time, lost in conversation. When Hina pointed out the all night ramen stand the curvaceous kunoichi's eyes lit up wide. "Oh my gosh, yes. You read my mind Hina!" She scooped her cat into her arms, carrying him to the ramen stand and setting him in an empty seat besides her. Sunadokei looked like a schoolgirl in a candy shop as she took her seat besides her friend. The shop keep whistled upon seeing the two beauties. Sunadokei was fairly sure he thought they were courtesans at first, but she adjusted her forehead protector, enough that he'd notice and take the hint.

"Hina order whatever you like, as much as you like. My treat." Sunadokei said, eyeballing the menu. "I'll take a dozen extra large bowls of beef ramen, with extra pork please. Oh, and small cup of grilled fish if you could, for my cat. I know it's not on the menu I'll pay whatever you think is fair. Also my friend and I are on one tab." Sunadokei said, reaching into her expansive cleavage to retrieve a small purse. Somehow that was hidden in there along with her mission scroll, what else she kept secured in her vast cleavage was anyone's guess. Spoilers, there was at least one kunai tucked in there are all times. Sunadokei paid the man and tipped heavily, before tearing into her food like a tornado sucking up everything in its path. She devoured the first bowl before the cook even finished the second, beaming proudly at his look of horror.

Sunadokei ate ravenously, both because she was hungry and because she knew they were on a tight schedule. If caught snacking they'd risk forfeiting their mission payment on grounds of laziness. She was far too enraptured in her midnight snack to noticed, but on the corner of the black a number of youths appeared. Rebellious teens, out well after curfew to cause mischief and mayhem. Three in total, wearing dark clothing with spray paint bottles in hand. Though the Akimichi woman hadn't noticed them, Hina didn't put near as much focus on her meals it seemed, so she might. These troublemakers were out well past curfew, and their outfits alone told the tale they were looking for things to vandalize.

Hina

Hina

C-rank
Hina didn’t mean to bring the mood down with her familial comment, although that seemed to have been what happened. According to Sunadokei, her family lived frugally despite their wealth because it would only take one bad head to bring the family to financial ruin. “That’s a good thing,” Hina would comment, “I hear it only takes two generations for a rich family’s money to go down the drain completely.” Hina doubted it would be possible to squander the Aikimichi’s wealth in so few generations, but the principle still applied. A bad apple with too much power was all it took. Plus it wasn’t like being an Aikimichi was cheap. Hina was sure they had multiple times the living costs as a normal person due to all the food they had to eat. It made Hina grateful that she had such a slender figure and that she barely had to eat anything at all, no matter how much she wanted to stuff her mouth.

Then Sunadokei went into the pros and cons of having a pet. It seemed like they required a lot of maintenance which was exactly what Hina did not need. Sure she could have benefited from a cute pet to keep her company, but not at the expense of the hours of care and attention it would need. There was only so much time in the day and Hina usually made good use of most of it, even if she wasn’t always dedicating it to training or missions. A lot of the times it was doing social things like going on a walk with the Kage.

“Haha, don’t be jealous. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time when he was off skipping out on work. We took a walk together and I think that face to face time was what got me the job. I’ve learned that in the political world it’s more about who you know than what you know… Although that probably doesn’t apply much in the realm of combat. But hey, we can’t all be great at everything! I’m sure I’ll never be on part with the likes of you when it comes to raw power!” Hina wasn’t ashamed to admit her shortcomings nor was she going to cut herself out of self praise. “I’m sure we’d be a great team if we went on some missions later on. You’ve certainly made this quiet night an enjoyable one!” Finally, Sunadokei recapped how her clothing worked and Hina wasn’t sure if it made a lick of sense. She had meant it as a joke and was surprised at how well Sunadokei understood the mechanics behind it.

They arrived at the ramen shop and started digging in. Hina would take a smaller bowl of ramen and break off pieces of the bar she had left over into it. She’d barely finish half of it while Sunadokei went through multiple bowls like it wasn’t anything. Hina didn’t care how many times she saw her guzzle down food, it would never get old. She felt rude staring though so she let her senses wander and picked up on some trouble makers outside of the ramen shop. When they were all done eating, Hina brought it up. “I think I heard some kids up way past their bedtime. They were smashing stuff up if I heard correctly. Let’s go check it out!”

Hina would take off around the corner and see a group of teens with bats, all whacking a street light for no reason other than to create noise. Some people were looking out their windows and shouting at the kids, who didn’t seem to care. “Hey! Stop!” Hina shouted and the kids took off. Hina would run after them, but Sunadokei was probably a lot faster and more suited to rolling them down. Hina doubted they would be able to put up much of a fight, even if they were stupid enough to try. At the end of the street the kids split up. Hina went left and she assumed Sunadokei would go left. Hina tackled a pair of kids who tried whacking her with a bat. She had to tie their arms to their bodies just to make them finally give up. “Alright kiddos, let’s go see how much damage you’ve caused tonight. I’m sure your parent’s would be happy to take this out of your gift fund.”

Sunadokei

Sunadokei

D-rank
Sunadokei let out a soft shrug as Hina commented on her clan's finances. "Probably. I feel like we're the only Noble Clan that has to deal with this issue. The Hyūga and the Aburame are so reserved and frugal, and Uchiha... well they're basically gone so I don't even know if they have any wealth left to lose." She wouldn't let this talk of money and inheritance get to her, and dropped the subject with that. She just had to make sure when she was clan head someday to never let the wealth or authority of it all get to her head. Sunadokei greatly doubted that would ever truly be an issue.

Hina's explanation about her assistant job continued to perk the Akimichi woman's interest. She listened intently, nodding along in agreement. "Hmm. That makes sense, maybe I should see about 'bumping into' the Hokage at right place at the right time..." Sunadokei tapped a finger to her lips as she mused to herself aloud. "I have been wanting to improve my Fire Release, and he is the best Katon user in the village. Maybe I'll ask about some mentoring, and see if I can sneak in some talk about politics." Sunadokei smiled, there was a certain sinfulness to her grin. "I don't have much of a head for politics, but I do have my moments."

Sunadokei practically lit up at Hina's comment about making the night enjoyable. She wanted to give her new friend a bone crushingly smothering hug, but decided against it. They'd only just met, and though Hina was quite sociable to put up with Sunadokei's motor mouth, she highly doubted she was that sociable. "Thank you Hina, that means a lot to me." She said, finally deciding on the right words. "You're right you might not be as strong as me, but there's other areas I'm sure you excel." Sunadokei said as she gestured to Hina's slender figure compared to her own heavy hourglass frame. "I bet you're way more agile than me, if I'm being honest." No shame in hiding it, not like Sunadokei could hide the fact she had several inches of height on her friend and almost doubled her weight. Akimichi were build for power not speed anyways, everyone knew that.

"I bet we would make a good team." Sunadokei said, nodding in agreement. "Think about it Hina, two busty kunoichi, femme fatales, going on dangerous missions. We'd have to keep the men off us with a ten foot pole." The buxom woman chuckled to herself at the joke, though the mental image would probably be a real problem if the two became a team. Men their ages tended to think about one thing, and it wasn't missions. "Still... I agree with you. Having you around has made the night more enjoyable. I'd be bored to tears if it was just me and Tōzoku, he's cute but he's not much for conversation." She spoke sarcastically of her cat, turning in her seat to pet along her beloved pet's back. Tōzoku hardly noticed, far too busy wolfing down his cooked fish treats.

Sunadokei downed her last bowl of ramen, eyes looking over questioningly to her new friend as she tilted the bowl to her lips and slurped down the last of its contents. "What? You serious?" She said in an irritated tone, setting down the bowl atop her empty stack of them. "And I was really enjoying our conversation and my snack." Her snack was done anyways, and Sunadokei scooped up Tōzoku under her arm. He let out a surprised meow, then decided it must be time for cuddling. "Fine, you're right. We probably should go deal with this..." Babysitting stupid teenagers felt beneath her, but technically part of their patrol duties were to be on vigil for crime. And technically vandalism was a crime... just punishable with community service and sometimes a hefty fine.

So reluctantly Sunadokei chased after her friend, looking noticeably bloated and more sluggish from her meal. Either way, she caught up quickly, running alongside her friend. "I swear, kids are the worst." She muttered to Hina as they passed the mangled streetlight. The hoodlums rounded a corner and headed down an alley, splitting up into two groups. Hina took the left, Sunadokei took the right. They didn't get far, as suddenly a massive arm chopped directly in front of them. Sunadokei stood proudly perched on a streetlamp, Tōzoku still slug under her other arm. "Partial Multi-Size Technique, it's real handy, get it!" She couldn't help but crack a smile at her terrible joke. The delinquents tried to bolt, but they were too slow. Sunadokei's dumpster sized fist closed around them, trapping them in her gigantic grip. "Keep squirming and I'll squish you two like bugs." She warned them as she made her way back towards Hina. It was an idle threat, but they wouldn't know any better.

Sunadokei set her fist down besides the punks Hina had already managed to tie up. "Nice bat, you should keep it." She joked to her friend, seeing the confiscated weapon. "Hina wanna be a doll and tie these punks up for me? The one keeps kicking my pinky, and it's really, really making me want to crush the life from his body." Sunadokei shot a glare at the captives stuck in her grip, her eyes were like daggers. Her threat remained idle, but she was getting tired of their panicked kicking. Sunadokei did eventually release her grip, her arm shrinking back down to normal size and retrieving her mission scroll from its place between her vast cleavage.

"Let's see..." Sunadokei said, retrieving an ink brush from her pocket and beginning to write on her scroll. "I'm gonna say, two counts of vandalism each. There's also breaking curfew, and of course resisting arrest. Tsk tsk, that's gonna be quite the fine for your parents to pay. Unless you know, you fools would prefer cleaning up trash for the next few months." Sunadokei spoke both sarcastically, and very matter of factly as she wrote down her charges in her scroll. Once she finished she rolled it back up and tossed it to Hina. "There's a Military Police office a double blocks from here Hina. What do you say, I think we drop these punks off there and get them out of our hands. The MP's can babysit them until their parents come to pick them up."

Sunadokei ended up using her Partial Multi-Size Technique again, grabbing a literal handful of punks with her two massive hands. It made carrying them the next few blocks significantly easier. Even if they didn't shut up, begging for release or forgiveness, some cursing and calling the two women all manner of rude insults. Sunadokei did shake hard when one muttered the word bitch, and made sure to squeeze extra tight when one had the gall to call her fat. Either way, a few minutes later the hoodlums were dumped in a heap in the lobby of the nearest Military Police station. Sunadokei explained the situation and listed off their charges, and the somewhat sleepy officers at the station reluctantly took the punks off the two women's hands. More paperwork for them, less for Sunadokei and Hina, just the way she liked it.

Now outside the station, the faintest glimmer of pink was beginning to cross the night's sky. Sunadokei had lost all track of time it seemed, the hours melting away far faster than they usually did on patrol. "Hmm... It's almost light out." She said enthusiastically, moving with an extra spring in her step. "Come on Hina, only an hour or two to go. We can finish our last few sweeps of the area then double back to the rendezvous point. Hopefully by then the morning shift will show up to relieve us. I'll be eager to turn this one in... then I'm going right home to bed." Sunadokei said as the two continued the last leg of their nightly patrol with spirits high. "Unless you know, you wanna stop at a cafe and get some breakfast once they open up?" While she was mostly serious, somehow she doubted Hina would say yes. Besides, Tōzoku was fairly wiped out from the evening. He cat napped in his owner's arms, purring loud enough to easily be heard. It was probably best once they were done Sunadokei just head home. Her little devil had earned his rest.

Hina

Hina

C-rank
For all the talk of her clan, Sunadokei didn’t seem obsessed enough to make it the only point of topic. It was a facet of their time together that she greatly appreciated. It showed Hina that her companion had restraint and had other focuses other than her heritage. It made her more relatable to the clanless shinobi and she was already Hina’s favorite genin. There wasn’t much competition now anyways ever since Yukino got promoted to special jounin and it wasn’t like she hung around many genin anyways. She was someone who sought after powerful friends, and genin were at the bottom of the totem pole. At this point HIna thought that befriending an academy student was better than a genin, simply because they could be molded to be exactly what Hina wanted.

Hina tensed up when she mentioned her desire to bump into the hokage and the less experienced shinobi filled with a defensive jealousy. She didn’t want anyone else to put their clutches on her prized jewel, but she wouldn’t say a word. What good was it to ruin this friendship right when it was blossoming? If Sunadokei ever got close with the hokage, that’s when the sabotage would begin. It didn’t seem like she wanted to do anything but learn some fire techniques from him, so she was safe from Hina’s bad side… for now. Hina could go from loving companion to an archfiend devil in the snap of a finger if she felt it was necessary to advance her status.

Hina laughed at Sunadokei’s joke about going on a mission, especially the part about the ten foot pole. It made Hina think about getting a polearm for a weapon. It was something she had thought about for quite a while now, and the quantifier of “ten foot” made her wonder if an extending pole was possible. Surely there was a woodcrafter out there who could give her the base materials, after which she could take to an enchanter. Then she could get the pole to extend, although she wasn’t sure how far it could be made to do so. Surely, making a polearm shrink that much in size was going to reduce its strength in other areas.

Fast forward to the chase, Hina couldn’t help but giggle when Sunadokei enlarged her hand and slammed it in front of the teens with her “handy” joke. She was sure there was a plethora of body related jokes that ran in the family. Hina now had the urge to learn all the aikimichi humor there was. HIna helped tie the kids up as requested and Hina chased down some of the more agile punks. Pretty soon they had everyone tied up and the pair of genin made their way to the MP office to drop off their haul. They thanked them and Hina smiled when she heard them total up the damages. The kids weren’t going to be getting off scott free, although this did leave the opportunity for Hina to suggest a mission to go repair their damages. She could play both sides of the scenario and make a pretty penny off of it if she played her cards right.

Hina was snapped from her money matters and she politely declined eating anything. She was dead tired and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. So that’s what she did after they parted. She curled up on a nice bench and slept till the morning. She really needed to plan out her adventures a little better so she didn’t always feel so exhausted that she needed to sleep in public. She had another mission lined up in the morning, and going home was a waste of time when there was so little money going around. God she wanted to be chuunin as soon as possible.
